I had many specifications of detail, exact layout, stair runs, locations of railing attachments. Mr Hart accomodated them all, as well as allowing me to place a roof drain conduit through his layout of piers while he was away. He solved the problem of accessing the crawlspace by designing a nearly invisible hatch in the decking.
Davis Hart is honest and professional and his advice and service is a great value.

Simply stated, I felt like Davis knows his trade well and was interested in doing the job right instead of just hammering up some band-aids. He was personable, considerate and trustworthy.

He thoroughly examined the decks and stairway to get an idea of the whole picture, and pointed out both good and poor design features (he did not build the decks originally). He noticed problems and anomalies that other deck repair companies did not. He showed up when he said he would, cleaned up at the end of each day and finished the job in a timely manner. He stayed a little later on Friday and worked to complete the railing so we wouldn't have a gaping hole along the stairs over the weekend. He threw in a couple of and quot;bonusand quot; fixes as he worked, shoring up the stairwell further with materials he had left over form the railing. Davis worked with the materials we had where possible and matched the new railing to the overall style of the existing rails. Our decks and railing now feel completely stable.

Our back deck which is 10' above ground, and about 240 sqr ft needed to have main support beams replaced due to rot. The 5 posts supporting these beams needed to be moved and given more secure footings.
The front deck needed its main supporting beam replaced due to rot.
The workers were respectful, amiable, and efficient. They came back when they said they would and only left for obvious reasons like cement needed to dry.

Fantastic. This is my 3rd project with Davis Hart, and we're as pleased as always. We've gotten many compliments from the neighbors. Davis and his assistant Luis work carefully and methodically, you can tell they are real craftsmen. As mentioned in prior reports, we have an odd shaped lot with significant downhill slope and landscaping boulders to work around. Very challenging to get something that looks "right" but is also structurally sound and makes the best use of the space. Davis nailed it. He has the perfect mix of engineer/craftsman and artistic flair.

After we showed Davis what we were thinking, he gave us 4 well thought-out drawings with final prices that we could choose from, and the option for something completely different. He did a fantastic job of matching the style/color of the new deck to the house, so now it looks like the house and deck were originally designed together. We have received many compliments in just the last week on the change.

The challenges of this project were to fit in the structure between the side of my house and the neighbor's fence, to go over and around some large tree roots, to utilize as much old wood as possible, and to make it look good. Everything went well. At first, Davis and I laid out all the old wood from my previous structure and wood he brought that was left over from other jobs he had done. He graded the wood, selected different pieces for different parts of the project, and began work. He brought all the tools he need to the site and worked efficiently in both nice and not so nice (kind of rainy) weather. Davis consulted with me on all aspects of design and we talked until we came up with a design that would fit our constrains and my desires. He finished the job over several days (there was no rush on my part) and met all my needs. He cleaned up and left me with an attractive gate. See photos below.

Perfect. Davis got us a solid, no-excuses price, had some good suggestions, and scheduled a time when he could start. The job took 2.5 days, just as he estimated, and he knocked it out Tues/Wed/Thur. The job was done rock-solid, extremely durable, and looks fantastic. We got lucky with the weather, if it had rained hard one day, it could have slowed the job (and that would be understandable), but all went as planned.
