Good work done

Our driveway was damaged due to a tree root. Dateline Concrete was recommended to me by a friend. Mani was extremely responsive and communicated well. I entered contact information on their website on Friday morning. He called a few minutes later and then came by later that afternoon. He provided a quote and a discount if we wanted the driveway completed on Monday. My husband and I are thrilled with the driveway and Mani even let us know about a potential leak from our water line that we may want to look into. We have other home improvement ideas for our backyard and will definitely contact Mani.

Dateline was prompt to respond to our request for a bid. They came out and surveyed the work to be done, had good suggestions about how to maximize the benefit and to keep the cost down. Their bid was very competitive. They were able to schedule the work within a few weeks of our acceptance of their bid. The work was done rapidly and professionally. They were able to work with us on additional work that was discovered once the concrete was up to replace a subterranean drain pipe that would obviously have cause problems. The work was completed on the original schedule. We are VERY happy with the results. We give Dateline the highest possible recommendation with no reservations. We would use them again without question.

Manny was responsive and reasonable. Three workers showed up and worked efficiently, made a nice cut, and hauled away the debris.

He failed to show up on the day we had scheduled and did not respond to phone calls or text. I finally got in touch the next day and he agreed to come out the following week. When he and his crew arrived, they decided that they would not do it for the quoted price that we agreed upon. They raised the price by $500. We were not able to come to an agreement so they left without performing the job.

This job went great. Mani was very responsive - in fact, he was the only concrete contractor I was able to talk to on the phone. And not only did we get to have a conversation right then and there, but he wanted to know the details of the job and gave me an approximate estimate over the phone. (I did have another contractor call me back about 5 days later, but by then I had booked Mani for the work). The job was to fill in a 4' x 8' hole we had cut out of our basement concrete slab due to a heating oil spill that was there when we bought the house - and the oil had seeped through the concrete into the dirt below, so we cut the slab and dug out the contaminated media (and had it appropriately disposed of). Then Mani did the concrete restoration work. Mani and his crew of 2 showed up on time, they were efficient and respectful of our house, and I couldn't have been happier. The concrete is setting up nicely and looks to be a very good pour. I would hire again, definitely.

Mani was very responsive by text and gave an immediate estimate. He was able to squeeze in the job quickly and he and his team worked quickly and efficiently. Dateline tore out two old retaining walls, removed soil and rebuilt the two walls in new locations and replaced some sidewalk, allowing an expansion of our driveway. He was also able to add additional details to the wall forms to provide a desired wood look. We're very pleased with the end results.

Mani was great! He responded quickly to texts and showed up exactly when he said he would. He communicated with me throughout the process and the driveway looks fantastic! We have had many compliments already.

From start to finish Mani was an excellent communicator. He arrived when he said he would to give his initial bid and he listened well to what it was that I wanted. After I accepted his bid, he gave a date to do the work about two weeks away. Just before that date we agreed the temperature was too hot to pour concrete and we set a new date a week later. On that date Mani and his helper George arrived promptly at 7:30 am as he said he would. From that time until about 3:30 or 4 pm the two of them worked tirelessly to prepare for and finish the concrete. About 10:30 am their concrete finisher, Alex, arrived. His finish work was superb. Every one of these guys was a hard worker. I recommend Dateline Concrete and Mani without reservation.

The job was done during rainfall, but still done well. Dateline did what I asked to try to match my existing aggregate and patched some holes and cracks in my garage floor. Great experience, would use again.

Mani was responsive to getting here for a quote. He put us on his schedule 3 weeks out. His company called to see if they could come a few days early and do the prepping... sure. They came back the day we were scheduled and finished the job. I will be hiring them again when we have to replace the walkway on the other side of the house.

It went great. Mani was prompt when he gave our estimate and was also prompt once the project started. He had a crew of about 3 others and he was on the job the entire time also. It took 1 1/2 days and we have a beautiful driveway. The cost came in considerably less than other estimates largely due to the fact at his suggestion that we not replace the outer slope(lip?) to the driveway as it is in good shape. We agreed and it all looks very good. We certainly would recommend him to anyone considering a new driveway. Our work was done in August 2017. LCM

Manny did a wonderful job Laying p our new concrete driveway. He also was able to transition the driveway to the road with asphalt. He was very professional and did an exceptional job. He was very timely and seemed to be quite reasonable in pricing!

Mani came to my house and gave me an estimate for a decorative concrete patio. We looked at photos. He walked the area personally and gave an estimate I agreed to. The site was supposed to be 494 sq ft. The landmarks were a tree and existing house/deck. He wrote a one sentence estimate on a form that listed a company other then dateline, and wrote dateline at the top. He was to start 3 wks later. Over the three weeks I tried multiple times to reach him by phone/texting and email. I left messages stating I just wanted to get the actual contract to sign. Finally he called me back and said we would do all that the morning of. I thought this was very odd since it left neither of us obligated to anything, but he had an A rating on Angie's list, so I trusted he was legit. The morning he was to begin, he showed up with a crew bright and early. Strangely, the crew stayed out front. Mani came to the backyard to go over everything. He looked at the patio area for a couple of minutes and said, I'm so sorry. I cannot do this for this amount. It's bigger then I thought." When I said, "how can it be bigger? You walked this yourself?" He told me he would do it for an amount $2600 above what he had originally quoted. I became quite upset at this. I said, "how can you give an estimate that's $2600 off, when you were right here and walked all of this yourself?" He said, "it was supposed to be for 494 sq ft. It's bigger" my father, an engineer was there during all of this and this comment prompted him to politely ask mani to measure the area. When they did so it actually came out to only 462 sq ft! I said, I don't understand how your bid could be off by $2600 and it's actually a smaller patio then we talked about.? How could this happen? Mani just said, "I'm sorry, I'm uncomfortable now. My guys are uncomfortable (his guys who had never even come to the back yard), I'm sorry." And he left. I suspected by the manner of this whole thing that he either takes bids on jobs after agreeing to jobs and just takes the best one when the time comes by avoiding contracts until the day of, or hopes we are so emotionally invested that we will pay the difference. Of course I can't know. What I do know is that this was the most unprofessional, sketchy and unethical contractor I have ever come across in owning 4 homes and working with multiple contractors over the past 20 years. He may do amazing work when he actually does a job, but if you can't get a contract out of him ahead of time, run!

Dateline Concrete did a great job replacing my concrete driveway this week (July 19, 2017). I did everything we are told not to do--signed a proposal agreement on the spot, went with the lowest bid, and trusted my gut and then worried about what I had done. I am happy to say that the job couldn't have gone better. Mani and his crew arrived on site exactly when he said they would, the project went like clockwork, and was completed in one day as promised. The driveway looks great, they took extra care with the finishing, and cleaned up really well. I was impressed that Mani accompanied the crew and worked through the day along with them. I have used contractors in the past who show up for the contract signing, send out the workers, and are never again seen. Some neighbors watching the process were interested enough to want estimates for projects of their own. That says a lot. I would definitely use this company again.
