DANNER'S HOME RENOVATIONS INC

They messed us up. I actually filed a case against him. The installation was shoddy and well below standard. They just ruined the materials that he installed for us. He had five or six different business names that he worked under, and Danner s was one of them.

First of all, we set a date for them to do it, and we had to get a hotel room for two nights. When we came home, they had not even been there. We had to do this all over again, and they didn't even finish it. When they did finish, they did a horrible job. They came out to fix it, but it still doesn't look good. The contractor that had got them for us said that he has never had a problem with them before, but he would not ever use them again.

Installer used a leveler on the old tile. It seemed to me to be quite thin but he said it was normal. After install I noticed depressions in the floor where the old tile met each other. Also, since Lowe's sent the wrong cove base, that had to be reordered. That took more than two weeks to complete while the installer forgot to bring the carpet metal we had to walk on cardboard to keep the carpet from unravelling. Now waiting for them to come and inspect the problems.

We have had a horrible experience with Danners. It is almost a year after they started the job and we still do not have working windows in our house. They took two months to do a job they said would take 3 days, their workers repeatedly failed to show up, were incompetent -- often showing up and asking me what they should do or how to do their job! As soon as it started raining, we noticed that not only did air come through all our new windows but water did as well. After having representatives from both Danner's and the window company come out, all of whom said that obviously the windows are not installed correctly, we still have them, still have water coming through the windows and have been unable to get Danners to fix their work. They do not return calls or e-mail. The owner, Dan, says he will call you or says he will fax you a form but then he does not and then he simply does not take your calls. I have never written a complaint before in my life. Do not hire Danners for any job.

Disastrous from start to finish. Actually never finished, as employees were incompetent, subs were not being paid, building, plumbing, installations were done without regard to plan (i.e. plumbing in wrong wall, wrong dormer size, framing errors,...the list is endless.) Constant employee crises/firing that culminated in firing of project manager. Still kitchenless after 6 months, we were left to deal with the owner, who knows less about construction than your average do-it yourselfer and cares even less. It would take pages to fully describe the misery we have been through. I cannot emphasize enough how much I would like to spare somebody else this pain. Sound dramatic? Now, 20 months after our house was torn up we are still in litigation with a state agency to collect for damages. Judge for yourself and be wise.

Dreadful. Friendly guys, but incompetent. There were many mistakes: roof leak, plumbing installed wrong and had to be torn out, sink leaked, drains plugged, new tub chipped and repaired the wrong color (it was white!). Huge messes that took several contacts for them to address. Almost triple the time estimated. There is so much more, but the memories are too painful. Very nasty ending when we asked for a release of right to lien.
