When I called to schedule they said there was a mandatory $29 service fee. It would be applied to the total cost if work was done. Fair. HOWEVER.... when they get here and alluded to how much work it would be, i decided to go with the company I have a warranty with (at first I wasn't going to because they were going to take longer to get there). At the point I said I would pay the $29 and the guy said it was $100. I explained the information I was given on the call and said I was happy to pay the fee but it was $29 and I wasn't paying more. He got very aggressive and kept insisting I owed him $100 because he could do the work for that much and he'd come "all the way out there" (of course, he'd not said $100 or any amount before, just that he would have to take the entire door off and it would take a lot of work). He kept insisting he wouldn't leave until I paid him $100 "for his time" and kept asking me why I'd called them if I was going to go with the warranty. He was so aggressive I finally just quit trying to explain that I was under no obligation to pay him for anything but the agreed-upon $29 service fee and told him he could stay and wait while I called the company. He finally agreed to $29 and said I was doing a terrible job doing business and then questioned whether my check was good or not(!) I'm hoping this was just a renegade employee and not the company as a whole. The company apologized and said they'd have the service manager contact me. We'll see...

The door broke at 3:00 on a Friday. I tried three other companies and was told they would call back on Monday. D&L sent a repairman from out of town. He fixed the door and was on his way by 6:00. No service charge.
