Cutting Edge Custom Cabinets

Absolutely zero accountability exhibited by this company. Not only were cabinets delivered of the wrong dimension, they were also missing specifications that we talked in length about (no bead board backing and soft close hinges until I pointed them out as misses). New cabinets had to be made which extended the duration of the project which I the general contractor had to absorb financial repercussions for with ZERO compensation from them to help right the expenditures of the project. After second cabinets were made, they were rushed (which was shown in the finished product such as blown out nails, mis aligned face frame etc.) and still a critical aspect of the design were flagrantly missed. Pictures detail the work. Face frame needed to be tucked into a groove in the stone work which was explicitly detailed from the outset of the project. This company is quick to send an invoice, even before the product is fully installed but plays the finger point game for days/weeks without any haste for a solution besides threatening to lein my customers home. Clients had to compromise on a horrible experience with this company plus all of the aspects of poor execution while no compensation was offered what so ever. CECC still charged full price and asserted they do great work and that without sending anyone to even set eyes on the project they were fully preparing to execute a lein for non payment. PLEASE AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS

Cutting Edge was hired by our contractor to build custom cabinets for our kitchen remodel. The quality of the cabinets is excellent and a very professional job of hanging the cabinets by Viktor. Sadly, i cannot say the same for the installation of the hardware and final positioning of the cabinet door. Basically, it will need to be done again. There are huge gaps between the door, little effort to clean up , and the employee ruined a series of plants in our driveways.

The kitchens were installed in a very timely manner with attention to detail in every area. We are so excited about the outcome. We highly recommend, with no reservation, Cutting Edge for anyone who is wanting custom work, extremely reasonable pricing, with an attitude that puts the customer is first. They were helpful and anxious to ensure our satisfaction.

The entire process was fantastic! We worked closely with one of their designers to get exactly the configuration we wanted. Then the delivery and install went really well. When one of the doors was accidentally put in backward, they happily came back and fixed. Could ask for better. We are now planning another kitchen remodel and will definitely use them again.

It was two different projects. It was something my husband set-up. I was a little puzzled because it was a fancier quality of wood even though they were both Cherry. The one from our basement remodel was quite a bit less expensive even though the same people did it and it was large and included another cabinet. The one for our guest bathroom was a lot expensive than the other one. The quality was good and they came back out. I was concerned a little bit about the finish being a little bit rough and they came out and took care of it. Their professionalism was good.

The best way to judge service is if something goes wrong. There was flooding, ice, and general weather misery during the construction and installation of the cabinets. Even so, the staff remained positive, and attempted to meet deadlines. In addition, one drawer face was not acceptable, and they replaced it as soon as they realized the defect. 
Christy and Carlos are to be commended on their cheerful, helpful attitudes, and expert work on this project.

Krieg and his team were great to work with! They sent over samples to help us choose what color we wanted and were very helpful in designing our new kitchen.

Frankly, I am not an easy customer, so it is noteworthy that Cutting Edge made sure I was entirely satisfied with the project! Roland Sandstrom measured, made plans, adjusted plans, and patiently addressed my many questions. I was very particular about a multitude of details and asked for innovations, and Roland worked with me. The other people at Cutting Edge (scheduler,delivery people, cabinet installers) were also very customer service oriented. The cabinets are beautiful!

It went very well, and we couldn't be more pleased. I've used the office daily since installation, and it still looks new and all fittings remain tight and new appearing. It has been a couple years since installation and I'd recomment Jay and his team to anyone who wants a well crafted custom cabinet installation.

I could tell from the start that Jay the designer (and I believe owner) was irritated that we took a long time with details. It was a small project, three window seats to be designed in three spaces, and he did not like that he could not get and quot;in and outand quot; with it. We are both commerical artists and so we are very detailed oriented.
It would not be a stretch to say that Jay and Carlos, the carpenter who installed the window seats had an attitude with us. The carpenter actually complained to me on site that it had taken a year from the estimate to the installation. As a person who worked in the interior design industry for 15 years, I could not believe that lack of professionalism. We actually could not afford to do the window seats until that time.
The other thing is that all the times that Carlos worked here, he did not sweep up after himself outside. Sawdust and wood scraps were left on the patio each time he came out. The second and third time he was here, we had a new puppy, and he still once again left chunks of wood on the patio. The next day, our puppy had a very expensive trip to the vet. I am not blaming this vet trip on this company, because the doctor could not figure out what poison had gotten into her, but wood with chemicals in it surely can't be good for a puppy. (the carpenter knew that we had this puppy).
When we complained about the messes that the carpenter left, we received no response from the owner. We finally received a sentence long response from him when we asked why we had not received a response.
On the whole, this company is very responably priced and does fine work. I understand them being frustrated with customers who take longer, given their low prices. I actually would have been fine with paying more because was are the type of people who take longer. But the attitude was so unpleasant to be around that we will not be using them again.

The salesperson, Kreig, came to our house and was super-enthusiastic, very creative and came up with good ideas. He listened to my ideas and they did a beautiful job. They were on time and I was able to go through their cabinet shop to see everybody making the cabinets; which to me was very exciting. We were able to get more for our money than with the other two companies I got estimates from. They matched the wood grain all the way down the drawers on the cabinets; which is, to me, very unusual. They used the same piece of wood and matched the grain; it was a real class act. It is beautiful and I was not expecting them to do that; they were terrific.

We have worked with Christina Steele on 3 bathrooms and now a new kitchen. Her attention to detail is outstanding. We had to tweak the design several times and she was always available. Christine detailed our drawings several times from just a concept to a final plan; measured many times, always made changes we asked for and much much more. I lost track of how many times she met with us to go over the smallest of details; and always with a smile on her face. Mark did the install which was a time consuming job, from 8:30am - 7:00pm, and again attention to the smallest detail was outstanding. Excellent work, I highly recommend Cutting Edge; Christina and Mark specifically. Thank you both!

Christine responded to our call, she is outstanding. I recommend asking for her. She helped us design a custom closet to fit our rather unusual space. She offered ideas to help solve some design challenges, she also provided drawings and edits as necessary, and color/stain recommendations. She also went beyond the call of duty multiple times to make sure we were satisifed. They quoted 3-4 weeks to build it, and delivered it within two. The piece is spectacular and exactly what we asked for. We can't believe the quality, and we are so glad we opted for this rather than buying a wardrobe or manufactured closet. I would use them again and recommend them highly.

Excellent job and exactly what we wanted. Our salesperson Christina went above and beyond our expectations. She made many samples for us, was always prompt and delivered as promised. This was a small job but will use again for kitchen, master bath and powder room cabinets. Wonderful experience.

Our experience with this company was superlative. All representatives of this company are very knowledgable and professional. Our cabinets are exactly what we ordered. They are solid quality cabinets that fit and allign perfectly. They traveled from Portland OR to the Oregon Coast to do the measurements on site. This is very, very important, as plans do not always reflect exactly what happens at the construction site. I have known of some companies who skip this step if the home is at a distance. They build the cabinets in their shop in Portland. Many companies these days design and measure, but import cabinets made in China. We have friends who went this route. They paid just a LITTLE less for what should have been comparable cabinets, but the quality does NOT measure up to ours. We are very, very pleased with Cutting Edge. Our cabinets are absolutely lovely, and have earned lots of oohs and ahhs from people who see them.

I have used once Cutting Edge before, on this job I wanted the cabinets to look as if they were made in the 20's. My last experience with them was positive, and so I was confident enough to proceed on this one. Jerry Cowing is the sales person for cutting edge who I interacted with on this job and I can’t recommend him enough. Although I had a very specific idea of what I wanted the kitchen to look like, there were many details I wanted to nail down and so the design process took place over many phone calls and meetings with Jerry, over a several week period. We had conversations about minute details, proportions, and how things were done historically. At times i needed an aesthetic opinion and Jerry was more than willing to oblige. At one point he jokingly mentioned that my dishwasher was not period correct. I drew the cabinets out on graph paper for my own peace of mind with very specific dimensions. Jerry was able to translate that accurately to their drafting program. He caught many details i hadn't, ensuring that nothing was lost when the cabinets went to production. Jerry was very patient and was as interested in the artistic aspect of this project as i was, and I think that is incredibly difficult to find in a contractor. In the end I got exactly the kitchen that I wanted.

The installer called to let me know it was ready. Then he called back to say that there was slight damage to it that would have to be repaired. He called again several days later to say he was prepared to deliver it, but he noticed that the finger pulls had not been done, it would have fixed and re-lacquered. When all was said and done it was a week later before I received my cabinet. It is beautiful and will be very useful. I am very pleased with the end result.

Cutting Edge did the cabinetry in our new house before we moved in. They designed and built a pantry to our specifications based on a simple sketch I drew -- it turned out perfectly! When two doors fell off shortly after we moved in, I called Cutting Edge for their help. They had a representative on site the next morning at the time of my choice. He repaired the two that had broken, and checked every other door in the kitchen. He also fixed the alignment on a couple of drawers that weren't perfect.

Myron came out and gave me a bid for kitchen cabinets for a house I was remodeling. He measured, set up his computer and created a layout for the existing space. I had several questions regarding the layout, cabinet construction, and aesthetic details and he answered them all very practically and honestly. He invited me to see a job they were doing at another location, and to see their workshop. I was impressed by the quality of their work, and the scale of their business. Their bid came in pretty low, so I decided to have them do the work. I went with paint grade cabinets, I had them create a custom crown molding. The cabinets were ready in 5 weeks, and they came out to install them promptly. The installer was very professional and did an excellent job, despite uneven walls and out of level floors.

I have to say awesome to describe what they did. Cutting Edge Cabinets came up with variety of very creative plans for my cabinets. They gave me a price breakdown by the types of wood they could use. Crown molding in the entire kitchen was even included. They definitely provide quality all the way.
