Everything has turned out well thus far. I am looking forward to seeing how it looks in a few years. Craig also helped me with another, larger area in front of my house several years ago and those plants have thrived and filled out the area nicely. Craig lives in the Alberta / Concordia / Woodlawn neighborhood and I highly recommend him for all things gardening, whether it be for consulting about what to plant where or with help doing the planting / gardening job itself.
Description of Work: Craig helped me pick out and plant several interesting plants for an area just in front of my house where I had removed several large bushes. It was somewhat of a small job, but Craig was very helpful, especially for someone like me who loves plants but knows little to nothing about them or about what plants do best where. NOTE: cost includes time / labour only, not the cost of the plants.

This was a great experience. Craig was so helpful in the initial consultation, noting strengths in my yard and where other improvements could happen. He has an organic ethic that I appreciate and gave me some good advice on some other yard issues (how to keep bamboo contained, the best soil to order, etc.). Craig was able to schedule the work in a timely manner, and did a great/efficient job. The big path project (with the poured pavers) is so incredibly fabulous, I'm energized to keep making this crazy yard better and better.
Description of Work: Craig did the following: spent 1 hour consulting with me about changes in my 5,000 sq. ft. yard; removed two roses; trimmed a few branches from a huge tree, set in one small stone path, and did a large paver project. This project consisted of setting 9 3'x3' frames, leveling them, then pouring concrete. Based on the initial consultation, Craig will be back to fix my irrigation system, build a grape trellis and help with some other projects.

Couldn't have been better. Craig is a nice guy who knows what he is doing. And he has stopped by a few times since we planted to check up on the plants.
Description of Work: I have a large planting strip that my neighbor was driving thru so it looked like hell. Craig helped me pick out some plants and I helped as he arranged and planted them properly (something that's a bit over my head frankly). The cost is an estimate of the entire project. Since I helped the entire time (by choice, I wanted to learn how to best do this stuff), he only charged me labor. Somewhere around a $100 I think it cost over two days (first day to buy plants, second to plant). I can tell you, if you live in close-in NE or North Portland, you are Craig's ideal customer (he lives off Alberta).

Craig moved the climbing hydrangeas and did an excellent job. It must have been a difficult task, as they were well established where they were. I would have used Craig for other work, but my current gardener decided he wanted to expand his work for me. I recommended Craig to my neighbor, who needed help with weeding and cleanup. Craig did a great job and my neighbor is very happy, which is good! I will use Craig again if my regular gardener isn't able to do the work.
Description of Work: Craig surveyed my yard and made several suggestions about the hardscape and plant needs. He advised moving two climbing hydrangeas to a new location, and amending the soil for best results with my plants. He advised against using pesticides as he practices organic gardening. Craig also does welding and offered to make me a trellis for one area in my back yard.

Over a period of just three months this man has turned our property around. Our property is not very large. Just a small garden around the perimeter of the property, 100' by 100' by 5'. Craig is a one man shop, which is perfect for us. He provides a level of primary accountability we just were not getting from our prior ''mow and blow'' commercial landscaping company. Craig has focused on the health of the soil, recommended and installed certain plants which are very much in character with the building and grounds, and restored certain plants that were original to the property, all at very reasonable cost.
Description of Work: General landscaping for a restored historic Victorian mansion condominium.
