Good job! Mr. Coverdale has done work for us before. The job involved tree roots and getting city approval. He was very knowledgeable about this process and is good to work and communicate with--we frequently conferred regarding the details of the job. His bid was reasonable and much less than two others, yet the quality of the work was excellent.

I am very pleased with the quality of both the end product and the service that I received.
Doug was very responsive and patient in answering all of my questions, from our first contact when he estimated the job through job completion. Unlike the other contractors who bid on the job, one of whom took two weeks to get back to me, Doug returned his estimate on the same day he first came by. Once I committed to the work, he had me on the schedule in less than a week.
His price was very fair and at the lower end of the estimates I received, although all of the estimates were within $200 of each other.
The only thing I could complain about, hence the B for punctuality, is that he started the job 1 day later than he originally scheduled it. But this really didn't matter much, and it seems typical for contractors to miss the scheduling mark no again...One day seems like nothing.

Do not expect the time of the start to be the start. They did the work in the overall time told to us by Doug.

Excellent service, quality work. All our neighbors on the block and the next block over had Doug do their work when they saw ours. There was some delay due to weather but Doug wanted to ensure excellent quality.

The price was higher than quoted per square feet. Constant delays and poor communication so the work ended up done in cold rain of November though contracted in early summer. The work itself was OK, but not super. Poorly supervised. Some workmen removed stones from my hand built stone walls to weight their tarps. I would not use this company again.

I got quotes from several places. Coverdale was not the least expensive bid we got, but in my opinion he did a higher quality job. He put down a bed of crushed rock and did a beautiful job finishing the new sidewalk. Doug's worked with the City of Portland inspectors, engineering and urban forestry departments for years and knows how to cut thru the red tape and make things happen. Coverdale did my neighbors sidewalk at the same time and due to the neighbor's trees, the job complexity grew. Our neighbor's sidewalk needed to be raised to accommodate tree roots. He gradually sloped my sidewalk so there is not a sharp ramp up to the neighbor's walk. He was able to successfully deal with extremely wet November weather and get this done (and keep the city happy with the schedule). Doug knows the concrete business from personally working many aspects. He only works with ready-mix suppliers that he knows don't cut corners or include inferior materials in their mix.

HE DID GOOD WORK BUT HIS PRICES WERE HIGH.
