Called for a quote, he quoted me what he thought it would cost based on previous experience with this issue. I told him that was expensive and to try to keep costs down any way he could. I sent the car in, he looked at it and sent me a quote which was far below the original estimate for tranny rebuild. I was very happy and can only assume from their previous reviews that they did a quality job. I will use them again. I feel very satisfied with the work provided.

It went excellent. For a transmission shop, it's incredibly clean. The owner is friendly. The technicians are professional in customer service. They're prompt and they return phone calls.

We found them to be professional, personable and very reasonably priced. The service was done correctly and there was no pressure to do anything other than what we asked them to do. A great company and we highly recommend them to anyone.

Called Bob with a problem. he said bring it in . fixed it promptly and didn't charge me anything and appologized for the inconvience. Bob runs a first rate business. My son also had a transmission problem with his truck and took it in. Bob had looked over the entire transmission and fixed it also in a timely manner.

Our Subaru outback was pouring out transmision fluid and losing power.
Bob strongly recommended towing car in over driving as to not damage the entire transmission.
They received the car at 4:00pm and had diagnosed the issue (spin on filter and pan gasket failed) and estimated about $140 to fix. The car was ready to go by closing time the same day... AND he came in under original estimate.

I was very impressed with the quick call I received from my initial email inquiry. After my conversation with them I was ready to use their services, based on the professionalism and information I was given, and the good comments I read on Angie's List, however, my other half decided to use a transmission shop closer to our home, even at a higher cost of $1,000 more! I would've driven the 65 miles to use Columbia Transmission but was out-voted.

The transmission in my Ford f-150 had been shifting oddly for a while and I was unable to identify any problems myself. Spoke w/ Bob on the phone about it, he said bring it in for an inspection. Dropped it off on Monday night after hours, Bob called me Tues morning to touch base on the details of my concern. Called me back a couple of hours later to inform me it was an engine control sensor that was the problem, sending conflicting info to the trans causing it to shift improperly. Gave me an estimate to repair it. I declined as I'm ablle to do that job myself. Bob charged me a very fair diagnosis charge and topped off the trans w/ a couple of quarts of fluid after the inspection. I spoke w/ him for a while in the office and found him to be a very frank and honest guy. I wouldn't think twice about referring anyone to bring their vehicle herw for service or repair.

Very quick turn around on transmission service - changed transmission oil and cleaned filter, road tested, done - took maybe 30 minutes. I've used Columbia Transmission in the past and will continue to use them in
the future.

Called Monday afternoon, dropped off my truck Tuesday morning. Bob called me by 8:30 to let me know what the problem was, I okayed the fix, and the repair was done by noon. Explained what caused the error code, and how one sensor can cause multiple error codes and multiple problems. They are very professional and it is nice to have competent people that charge a reasonable price and don't act like they are doing you a favor. And it is close to where I work, so I didn't need to take time off to deal with the issue.

Original estimate was between $2100 to $2300 but actual cost was $1576. Could of easily charged me $2100 and I would of never known the difference. Car was also fixed in a timely fashion. Bob the owner of Columbia transmission has a very calm demeanor and right away you can sense he is out to give you the best advice and pricing. His honesty and integrity is what sets his shop above all others. I highly recommend him and his staff to all! Thanks Bob!

I am delighted with Columbia Transmission. They had my car for two days, took it out on numerous road tests and did a thorough inspection. They could not replicate the issues I was having, and said there was nothing wrong with my transmission. They think it might have just been a fluke. Told me the fluids look clean and are at the proper levels.
After all the time and energy they spent on my car, they refused to take payment of any sort stating that they did no work, so there's no charge. I can tell you as a woman, that's the FIRST time I've ever heard that from an automotive shop. All they asked was that if I do have problems in the future to bring my car back to them.

They are very good. They seem really professional and competent. They got it done when they said they would. They charged an extremely reasonable price. For the oil and the filters he put in the transmission, he charged me less than I could go out and buy it at a discount place. I am really happy with the whole experience.

I took the car in, they ran the computer code which indicated a solenoid was failing. They filled a low tire with air while they were looking up the costs and checked out a couple of fittings that were leaking and a potential motor mount problem. Neither were problems. Told me $275 as an estimate and 2 hours. I waited and it was done in about 90 minutes. Super polite, super fast, super easy. Best service I've had on a vehicle repair in a long time!

Very easy to work with. They fully explained how they would rebuild the transmission, how long it would take and what it would cost. Due to a change in our personal schedule, we needed the car earlier than it was promised. They got it done early for us. The cost was very reasonable and the transmisison has performed flawlessly. It's a very cool shop with an old-fashioned neighborhood feel.
