ColorFast Custom Painting

I obtained quotes from multiple painting companies, and ColorFast was by far the cheapest.  The owner, Jeremy, was very personable and seemed to really want to help me out.  The house I was moving into was in rough shape.  It was really dirty and there was discoloration on some of the walls.  In addition to being the lowest price, I really got the feeling that ColorFast would do a great job because I was told they would clean the walls before both priming (as needed) and painting them.  They were also willing to work within the tight timeframe I was dealing with.

The job seemed to go great.  Jeremy and his crew got started immediately - on a Saturday!  Everyone was very professional and the cut-ins were all very straight.  It really looked like they were very good at what they did.  The payments were made in installations.  The final payment wasn't made until touchups were done and all work was complete.  I was very happy with the end result.

Jeremy went above and beyond to help me out.  He went with me to Home Depot to pick up some supplies that I needed for the house and brought them back to the house in his trailer.  He even offered to go back to my previous home with me after I had moved in to help me move some of the items that the movers I hired accidentally left behind.  It would have taken me several trips with my small car and I would have had to leave behind a couple heavier items.

That is where things took a turn.  Just before the initial job wrapped up, I had talked with Jeremy about coming back to do a few smaller finishing/painting jobs in the following month.  I also indicated that I wanted a quote to get the exterior repainted in the Spring.  I received one text message from Jeremy indicating that he would be there on a certain day in January.  He never showed.  Over the past several months I have tried multiple times to contact ColorFast but have gotten absolutely no response.  I explained in messages I left that I had discovered some tools and supplies that were left in my garage, but no one even contacted me to get back those items.  I honestly don't know what is going on.  Their website and phone number are still active.  This experience after the job was done is why I reduced the ratings I gave ColorFast on both Responsiveness and Professionalism, and then ultimately the overall rating.  If I had written this review the day the work was done, they would have likely received A's in every category.

In addition, some of the work that was completed has since had problems.  They apparently didn't prime the trim or railings before painting them and now the paint scratches off (or in some cases, peels off) very easily.  Given what I paid for the job, that really doesn't bother me that much though.  I've learned to just be very careful with it.  It still looks much better than it did to begin with.  However, this did cause me to knock the Quality rating I gave ColorFast from an A to a B.
