Great!  Gary responded to me the same day after I contacted him via email.  I sent pictures of our house/gutters so he was able to provide an estimate right away.   I had a non-functioning gutter that his crew fixed readily.   Our house is two stories and sits on a slant so is too difficult for me to manage with a ladder on my own, I definitely needed the help.   Since they were going to be up there I wondered about installing the gutter foam - to allow me to save money I bought the supplies myself at Costco and his team installed them for a nominal charge per piece.

They usually make it out within a week if it isn't the super busy season with the onset of fall rains.

Came to examine and make bid. On agreed upon day, the crew arrived in the morning and spent a couple days thoroughly cleaning the roof, the gutters, applying moss retardant, and cleanup. They were knowledgeable, professional, courteous, thorough, and conscientious. Every aspect of the job was excellent. Likable and competent guys.

I called and got a very quick response from the owner. He had time within a few days and the work was performed. The gutters are clean- I will be able to see once the rains hit again. We also had a piece of shingle that was hanging down on the other pieces. He repositions that- it looks just normal now. He also cleaned all the moss that accumulated on a portion of the roof. He said he would do a check to be sure the shingle was not indication of more serious problems. I was gone in the AM when they came and they were done by noon.

I explained which gutters needed extra attention because they tend to build up dirt and leaves every year.

We've used CJ's for gutter and roof cleaning since we moved into this house in 2005. They've always done a competent, careful and thorough job, cleaning up after themselves and hauling off debris. This past fall we just had them unclog a couple of downspouts. The only downside of our most recent experience is that they had to postpone the job three or four times due to either high wind, heavy rain or scheduling conflicts. This was mildly annoying, but in retrospect it actually worked to our advantage, since by the time they were able to make it here, most of the leaves had fallen from the trees that overhang the house. So our gutters are clear for the duration of the rainy season.

The company sent an estimator the day after we called. They sent a detailed estimate via email. CJ's did not have the cheapest price but it was in the ballpark and included more cleanup, and they agreed to throw in cleaning the outside of my aunt's gutters. Job was delayed once due to high winds, but they called us in advance and were out there on the revised date. Work took all day and it does make a mess on the ground with little bits of moss and dirt all over the place. However, they covered sensitive areas with tarps and it was all cleaned up before they left. They had to repair one of the gutters but did not charge for it. The roof and gutters look almost like new. This is a bigger job than most people probably anticipate and we are glad we investigated some companies rather than going with the cheapest one.

Initially we had a good experience.   Gary inspected the house before submitting the bid and responded promptly to the e-mail asking for clarification of the skylight washing.  After we accepted the bid, he said their scheduling whiz Katie would contact us.  She scheduled a work date of 6/28 - almost 6 weeks later.  It seemed like a long way off but we just wrote it in our calendars and made sure to clear our deck of plants and furniture the day before.  No-one arrived and I left a couple of messages with an e-mail response 6/29 apologizing and saying they were so backlogged they needed to reschedule for July 9.  It was a nice note and we had no problem rescheduling - just wish we'd known ahead of time so we didn't need to shuffle plants etc around unnecessarily.  Anyway, we got another e-mail saying they need to reschedule for 7/12 to pad the schedule a bit.  Again, no problem - we were eager to just get it finished.
They did show up on that date and cleaned the garage and house roofs.  However, they did not touch the skylights (I'm not sure how they washed the whole roof and managed to avoid a single drop on them), did an appallingly partial job on the plastic awning which still had moss/algae/ on 1/2 of it, didn't secure the downspouts and one had a hole from the screw that secures the strap that rainwater pours out of, and didn't install the downspout strainers.  I left a message on their office phone and Katie called back to schedule the completion of work.  They arrived as scheduled and finished the cleaning, securing the downspouts, washing the plastic awning but only brought 2 downspout strainers which they installed on the two downspouts we could have reached ourselves and did not install on the 2 higher ones.  They said this was all they'd been provided and would talk with the office staff.  We got an invoice on 8/1/12 but no contact about the missing strainers.  I left a voice mail at the end of August about it - no response.  I called again 9/5 and this time received a call back from Gary who said the number of downspouts kept changing - was it 3 or 4 - he thought it was 3 and the crew was supposed to pick up the supplies - the crew hadn't mentioned any problems with the number.  He then said they'd be here the next day and finish it up.  He wanted to confirm someone was home to "sign off on it" and pay at the time of completion.  He said they could take photos if needed.  My husband has wondered why I've been so patient with them on the phone but this call really strained my ability as it was clear Gary thought somehow it was our fault they are being called back twice.  I know he was at the house - why is it our fault that he didn't count and relay the information on downspouts to his crew?  Likewise, why don't they communicate problems back to the office so they're resolved without the customer having to call?
Although I want to give feedback to Angie's List members, I often don't take the time.  However, this has been such a time consuming effort to get the job completed with calls, e-mails etc that writing a comment seems like just a drop in the bucket and the final straw was the feeling of being blamed when we have bent over backwards to be reasonable and understanding.
Response from CJ's High Climbing Services
"I had partially delegated management of the business earlier this summer due to a medical issue. In retrospect I should have pulled away entirely and things would have gone smoother. Also, I entrusted responsibility for overseeing this particular job to a person who I promoted prematurely, and who has since left the company. Responsibility for unhappiness must always lie with the vendor and after a callback (with multiple "to do" items, no less) I normally would have made sure that the crew accomplished all the "to do" items, including a followup call to the client to be sure. I did none of these things. As it turns out, we were two downspout strainers short on that callback and this info did not get back to me. Some weeks later (I was back at work full time by then) the member called about the two downspouts and I diverted a crew there for the first call of the very next morning to take care of this. I do not recall that I was accusatory but rather, trying poke fun at myself over the entirely personal) situation of not being able to even count downspouts correctly. I wanted to confirm that someone would be there to make sure the crew had done the work (finally, correctly, on the third try!) as requested. This would usually be considered normal and I don’t know how to respond to the complaint over that request. I do apologize to the client over this. The errors—all of them—are mine- Gary K., President"

Katie kindly scheduled us for a later appointment so I had time to move my container plants out of harm's way. The crew was set to show up midday (noon to one) but they arrived at 10 am. This was actually better for my schedule so I didn't mind. They were finished shortly after noon. The two-man team work efficiently and did an excellent job of cleaning the gutters and roof, as well as the ground around the house.
As I stated, I didn't mind that the crew showed up early but someone else might. In addition, it's been 21/2 weeks and we have yet to receive a bill. These two issue resulted in the B rather than A rating for punctuality.  Overall, we were very pleased with the work. We have used CJ's before and are likely to use them again.

Super easy to work with and very responsive:  I called, they inspected the work site, emailed an estimate, I scheduled the work, work was completed and they emailed an invoice.  It was that easy.  I will deinitely use them again.

Responsive on quoting job.  Had some concerns about trees in back of house.  We trimmed our trees to get away from house.
He came back out to confirm his quote (ability to perform service).
Schedule a day and time.
They arrived promptly.
Cleaned roofs and gutters.
When I got home that night, I got on roof to inspect (I am cautious that way).
Found a couple of small gutters not completed.
Also found some splash off of mud/moss on side of house (not cleaned).
Otherwise, roof and most gutters looked very well cleaned.
Informed them of issues.
Believe they sent someone out to fix/complete job.
Never heard whether they came or not...but appeared to be corrected.
They also notified me of what they believed was a clogged drain in the rear of the house.  Provide a reference to another vendor.
Billed me.
Paid them.

This was on a Big Deal.  First, someone came out to look over the side RV parking drive, which to my knowledge has never been pressure washed, and though the area was a few feet larger than the offer, he agreed to wash it for the Big Deal price.  On the day appointed, a young man came out, moved the few things that needed it, and did a great job cleaning the cement.  He was very pleasant.  At the end, he blew away all the leaves that had collected by the gate.  After the cement dried, I was amazed to see that the driveway looked so good.  I will call this company again when my house needs washing in the spring.

This is about the third or fourth year I have had CJ's clean my cedar shake roof.  Each time they have done an excellent job, gotten the roof clean and cleaned up the debris from the yard.  Other than seeing the clean roof, I wouldn't have known they were there, they did such a good job of getting all the pine needles, etc off the yard, driveway & deck.

The price was reasonable. I think that they went above and beyond. They actually came out two times. They did the treatment once, but didn't quite get the results they were looking for, so they came back and did it again without us asking them to. It really looks great.

Gary was very responsive to our questions and provided additional information of how to take care of our roof and gutters specific to our site conditions. Communication was easy and the transaction went very well. Not only were the gutters clean, so was the surrounding areas beside the house. We were quite pleased. We'll use them again.

We contracted this company a few years ago to clean the gutters and wash the house.  We were highly impressed with their work and didn't give any thought of going with another company.

The crew arrived the morning given in the bid.  They spent considerable time trying to remove some stains caused by a tree that had been against the house.  Most of the first day involved washing the house and starting to wash the patio cover.  The second day they returned and finished the job.  They finished washing the patio cover and the remainder of the day washing concrete.

Got an electronic quote the next day. Scheduled and they came out and cleaned and repaired all my gutters. They were pulled out from the roof in many places and the previous owners of my house had not cleaned the gutters in several years. They flushed them out and cleaned up after themselves leaving no mess behind. They also dealt with getting access to one side from my neighbors yard in a professional manner. All this for less than half what I expected to pay for such extensive cleaning and repair.
