We have worked with Ron Best for over thirty years, and would not consider going elsewhere. City Home Improvement has always been honest, trustworthy, and as on time as one can be given all the unforseen elements that can pop up. The current project(completed last month) was done exactly to our specifications. It is absolutely beautiful! Jerry explained each step and was easy to talk with. The crew was fast paced, thorough, and cleaned up at the end of each day. We are completely pleased with their work and will use CHI for any future projects.

Since 1990, they have done almost all the work on my house. I have never worked with a group that is so dedicated, and so responsive. Ron was here to inspect often and the work was done quickly and well. Every evening, everything was cleaned up. It was SOOOO easy. Now I always start every project with a call to them.

City Home Improvement was recommended to us by our roofing company after they discovered several damaged rafters and dry rot on a support beam. Repair required bracing the roof, removal of exterior siding, removal of interior brickwork on our fireplace, replacement of leak-damaged ceiling panels, and other steps. The work was done in a very careful and meticulous way to avoid further damage to windows around the beam, the ceiling, rafters and other structural supports. Among other things, we were able to install a mantel on the fireplace--not possible in its old configuration. The result is a reinforced structural support, a nicer fireplace, repainting of affected areas, replacement of damaged ceiling panels, replacement of lost insulation, and cleaned brickwork. A very nicely done job.

I wouldn't call it remodeling, but they did a lot of work, they went above and beyond what I expected. They're wonderful. The price kind of choked me up but I thought it was very fair. I have used them over the years, I will use them again. I say before you do anything else talk to that company, because they are completely honest, they come back and repair anything that for a year, there's a year guarantee. They've always been very responsive, they're great, I wouldn't do anything in this house without them.

They did a wonderful job. Only addition, is that make sure you understand allowances.  The most important aspect of this company is that Ron mentioned that if there were any issues over time he would take care of it. We've found over time that they have. I'd recommend them to anyone.

This is the third time they have been out here since the job has been completed. When they first came out to start the job I noticed the brick was pulling away from the front of the house and discovered there was dry-rot and had to replace the siding and remove the brick. The crew who removed the brick and replaced the siding was great, they did good work. However, the painting crew I do not know if they didn't do good prep work, the white kept coming through wherever there was a seem. They tried a different caulking before they painted all the areas where the white was coming through however it still came through. This time, they tried an additional caulking and repainted all of the areas.

City Home Improvement has several project managers or lead contractors and ours was Gary Blomquist.  I would be sure to ask for Gary.  Or call him on his cell 503-819-6446.  We started looking into our remodel about a year before we actually had the work done.  Gary was very helpful along the way and had good ideas.  Also - he was never pushy but went at our pace.  Once work began his team was excellent particularly his lead carpenter Ron.  Ron made sure every job was done to perfection.
It has now been over six months since the remodel was completed and we could not be happier with the results.  We also have gotten lots of compliments from other.  I would highly recommend Gary and his team at City Home Improvement.  (I found them here on Angies List.)

rot. contracter had good references, did very good work, contracted out the railing, ....workers were polite, tidy, professional............cost was higher than I expected but that was due to dry rot. Prompt, courteous and thorough

Pleasant workers, great attention to deatail.  They did a great job.  Very clean, cleaned up after themselves.

We are still in the process of the bathroom remodel.  It will be done by next week.

Work was done on time, quality products, professional and good craftsmanship.

It went very well.  Friendly staff all around and they exude competence and confidence.  We were very happy with the quoted price and very happy with the work.  They installed the doors over a few hours on one day and then returned a few days later to do the finishing work on the front cover.  High-quality work with attention to detail.  Highly recommended.
Also, they did not demand payment until they were sure we were happy, which was an added bonus.

they did a great job. i would highly recommend working with Tony. he helped me pick out colors and materials and helped create a budget that worked for me. the team he organized was prompt, professional, and worked hard. all were personable and great to work with. they did a terrific job. i would definitely hire them again.

They did a great job. Especially in the early parts of the process I got a lot of help with selecting finishes and materials. The contractor went with me to pick out the materials including a faucet and sink, it was very helpful to have him with me. He didn't try to push me into anything, he just accompanied me and answered any questions that I had. I really appreciated that because I didn't know where to start on my own. He estimated the project would take 3 weeks and for the most part it was done on schedule. We were able to utilize the kitchen within that time frame. We were particularly happy with the floors that were refinished, they were very careful. He put plastic up to completely enclose the area so we didn't have dust everywhere. They do custom cabinets and the cabinet maker was very good. We were very impressed with how the cabinets turned out. They also did a wonderful job with the countertops. There aren't any gaps or flaws. They also did some painting in the room adjacent, they even recommended a good faux painter for my mantel. Everyone that worked in our home did a great job with the clean up and was incredibly professional. They have been incredibly responsive, even after the completion of the project they have been quick at returning my calls as I find small items that need completed.

These people are honest, fair, and excellent workers. They complete a job in a timely fashion. The same workers have been with them for 30+ years. They have never misrepresented any part of any job to us.

They were really good, and we recommend them highly. They took us to the vendors and took care of everything. They brought different people to do different things, and they were all managed by City Home Improvement. They did a lot of things. They were excellent. They kind of looked after everything.

It went well. NO job like that is without glitches, but they were few in this case and handled very well.

The experience of dealing with them was okay. They were a little disorganized. They were unable to keep track of things. I will probably not use them again in the future.

The entire project was professional managed and the quality of the work was outstanding. The project manager coordinated all aspects of the project, including selection of the granite for the countertop. He offered guidance and suggestions to help us put together just the kitchen we wanted. The carpenter's attention to detail and work quality was outstanding--exceeding all our expectations.

On his initial visit, Mark looked at the master bath, listened to what we wanted, and gave us suggestions regarding design and materials. When he had a good feel for what was wanted, Mark presented a bid for the work. The bid included very realistic costs for materials, cabinets and fixtures. Mark met with us at vendor locations to go over materials and fixtures.
