Cinch Architecture

Matt provided a complete design and detailed estimate for our remodel project in June of this year. Work began in July. Throughout the project he provided detailed updates and collaborated on the design and and choice of finishes and building material. His wide-ranging expertise in design, construction, remodeling older homes, sustainable building, and local contractors was invaluable. He solved problems and saved us money using smart design. Matt has a gift for reshaping existing space to be more functional and stylish. Throughout the project he was extremely responsive. He was always professional and punctual. He managed the army of subcontractors with a firm hand and clear direction. He handled unexpected problems with calmness and a focus on making us happy. He finished the project on time and within 10% of the original budget even though we added scope along the way. We've been living in the house for a few weeks now and every day I appreciate a little more Matt's architectural vision and quality craftsmanship.

We discovered CINCH Architecture after we had a new floor put down in our kitchen a few weeks earlier. The finish on the cabinet doors under our kitchen sink had deteriorated from many years of opening them (with dripping hands) for the towels we hang inside. We had Matt come and offer options for improving the appearance of the cabinet. While he was here we had him also look at fixing and improving the finish work that had been poorly done by the flooring guy. We went with Matt's recommendation to have two new cabinet doors made, which he sub'd-out to a company he knows and trusts. We are delighted with how well the new doors blend in with the original cabinets. We are also very happy with the exterior threshold and interior finish work that Matt did for us. His attention to detail and his craftsmanship was evident from when he first walked into the kitchen and followed through to the completed project. We are very happy with the work CINCH Architecture performed for us.

I hired Matt to get my house ready to put on the market for sale. He had a keen understanding of what needed to happen to make the house look presentable vs.where to cut corners to save money. He did not work on anything that was not in the contract without prior approval. Matt is thorough and professional. He has a good eye for design and is a good communicator. Matt is reliable and I would highly recommend him.
