Very well. We have recommended Cascade to several other friends who have / are hired them. We interviewed quite a few contractors and selected Cascade because of the business model and transparency. We used Karen Linder (Linder Designs) along for the design aspects. The overall team did a great job and we are very happy with the result and the process. We felt very included in the design and implementation of our home.

The experience was exceptional. Steve and Jessica were very aware of our planned budget and worked with us. As predicted, we expanded the project but there were almost no unexpected expenses, so Steve stayed on budget.
Maybe the single most impressive part of the project was that Steve and Jessica presented us with a spreadsheet at the beginning of the project laying out the 11.5 weeks of work. The entire project followed that plan exactly. The only exception was some floor work that needed to be completed at the end of the project and extended us one day. That one day was not terribly relevant and we were able to move back into the living area on the weekend that we planned at the start of the project.
The quality of the work is excellent. Steve and Jessica were able to make suggestions for improvements, like a pull out pantry, during the project and the planning. These have really made a big difference in the finished product. The work crews were always professional, pleasant and willing to talk about what they were working on and why. They kept things as clean as possible considering the scope of the project. This was important as we were living in the home while the work was going on.
We are extremely pleased with the finished product and the process of getting here. We plan to use Cascade for any future work.

See our previous review dated March, 2013, for our positive experience with Cascade's bidding process and with the first phase of the project (main floor bathroom and entry).
The second phase included two bathrooms upstairs, a reconfigured master closet, painting and flooring throughout. The majority of work for both phases was completed between January and May, 2013. A few finishing touches had to wait until fall due to our own travel and other projects.
Throughout both phases of the project, Steve Pruitt was very attentive and responsive. He did an excellent job managing all of the many subcontractors involved (plumbers, electricians, tile setters, cabinet makers, painters, flooring installers, etc.) This was our first time using a general contractor; and after seeing all that goes into a project of this scope, we are so glad we did not try to organize this on our own.
Steve brought together a team of skilled craftsmen and we are pleased with the quality of their work. There were a few minor problems along the way, but Steve arranged for them to be fixed promptly.
The final price was a bit higher than the original estimate; but that was due to our own choice of more costly materials. For his part, Steve kept the labor costs right on budget.
We would definitely use Cascade Restoration again and friends who followed our recommendation have been please with his work as well.

We started with a set of plans from an independent designer and then
worked with Steve Pruitt to develop a budget for this major project. As
part of his feasibility/budgeting process, Steve scheduled a marathon
day for subcontractors to walk through the house. They had a chance
to view the site, and we had a chance to discuss potential issues with
each of them. Based on what they saw, they suggested a few changes to
meld the spirit of the design with the realities of our existing space.
By the end of the day, we felt that both Steve and the subcontractors
had a good understanding of our house and our plans.
Steve prepared an initial bid with costs for labor and materials clearly
spelled out in each area. He then met with us several times to adjust
choices to bring costs in line with our budget. He checked regularly
with his subcontractors to answer all of our “What if…?” questions. As
we refined our priorities, we figured out where to conserve and where we
could afford to splurge a little. In the end, we felt that we had a
well-defined scope of work and an accurate estimate of what it would
cost.
Working through the feasibility/budgeting process gave us a chance to get to know Steve better. We came to appreciate his
patience, his open communication, and his ability organize the project
for us. We were very comfortable with him and his bid by the time we
were ready to sign a contract.
We have just completed the first phase of a two phase project. With Steve’s organizational skills and attention to detail, everything is on schedule and looking great. I will submit an updated report after we complete the second phase.

We were so pleased with how smoothly everything went. Steve and Nancy and Greg are terrific . . .very professional, attentive, punctual, and responsive to our many questions. I can't thank them enough for their patience, knowledge, and expertise, and just plain talent.
You will have a beautiful home if your choose Steve and Cascade Restoration.

Once we got started, the work was pretty steady. Steve and his crew were very responsive to our wishes, and the work was done well. I was pleased that the dirt raised by the floor refinishing was less than I anticipated.
