"Thanks [Member Name Removed], it was a pleasure doing the work on your panel."
We called Steve Callahan after checking Angie's List, and met with him within a couple days. He identified the problem outside the house, and also pointed out the need to replace the breaker panel (an old Pacific Electric panel that was too small and unsafe).
Steve and his crew coordinated with the siding contractor and cleaned up the outside service mess, and replaced the panel. We also asked him to set up power for a hot tub. They were professional and worked quickly.
We would gladly work with Steve again and recommend him to others.
I initially called 4 electricians. Callahan Electric was only one to schedule a visit to check out my project.
Steve does excellent work and is very easy to work with.
I first reached out to Steve Callahan 1-1/2 years ago about installing a buried service entrance and feed to a subpanel in a new garage. He explained the real cost and values of what I wanted to do and showed me how I could perform the work myself because I have some basic electrical skills.
Then, this year, I new Steve was the right guy to get my existing low elevation aerial feed replaced with one that connected to top of 2 - story house and met current codes. He worked with my siding contractor to sequence the work smoothly and set the new meter base and service connector on one day. Then, following day, Steve showed up with 3 guys and rewired the main service panel to serve as a sub-panel, run service entrance through concealed route in ceiling, and completed service switch with Pacific Power on same day. Switch over was no inconvenience at all!
Steve shows commitment, practical skill, and integrity that I you find in other electricians.
City of Portland inspector quickly approved Steve's work upon inspection.
Callahan came first as a recommendation on Next Door and then I looked them up here - all A ratings. With that I called and Steve made an appointment to come out a few days later. It was a short visit as this was a very straightforward job and later that afternoon he emailed the quote over. About a week later Pete and Tyler showed up in the agreed upon window and efficiently installed the two ceiling fans.
Steve would definitely be a first call for any future electrical work we need done. Professional, communicative and responsive.
Purchased 1969 ranch house. Majority of wiring needed to be replaced which required electricians to navigate attic. Panel rewired and brought up to code. All baseboard removed and replaced with 5 Cadet heaters. Several outlets replaced and a new outlet installed in garage. One electrician returned after drywall completed and finished installing new outlets. Electricians were always on time, worked efficiently, and were friendly and professional. The owner, Steve Callahan, periodically checked in with me. I have several projects that I would like done in the future and I plan to use Callahan Electric.
