He did an amazing job, I'm so pleased with his attention to detail. I called on Monday and he was able to perform the work on Friday. His rates were great and I will definitely use him again.
My experience with Cage was excellent, and well exceeded my expectations.
From start to finish, he was completely professional in every way, including creating a "staging area" outside the main work area where he maintained his tools and materials at the end of the day. This staging area (actually on a carpeted floor), was protected with cardboard and a temporary rug on top of that, and was organized and cleaned-up at the end of every day. Utilizing this area meant that he didn't have to drag tools and supplies throughout the house daily, and it was very easy to live around the work being completed. I think "how" someone works says a lot about the quality of their product, and in Cage's case even his preparation was thorough and meticulous.
He lived-up to the schedule he laid out, not only at the start of the project but also a daily basis, and was very accommodating to our schedule to ensure little disruption to our daily routine. The project started on-time and finished on-time, and he even delayed the start by one week, at our request, based on a delay of other work being completed. He handled the delay very professionally. The proposal he presented at the start was very thorough, estimating almost down to the tile for the time required, and he came in at budget. There were minor changes along the way, and he gladly worked with us to accommodate the changes.
Finally, and maybe most importantly, the work he completed was excellent. This was a bathroom remodel in an older home (1931), and it can be difficult sometimes to blend old and new work, especially when it comes to walls that aren't completely plumb anymore or floors that have settled over time. Not only did he manage this transition very well, but I know he took the time to understand the best way to match the work, and align new tile to ensure the best fit. He was very knowledgeable and took the time to do it right.
I will contact Craig again for additonal work at my home, and would highly recommend him to a friend doing similar work. He was easy to work with, personable, and very professional with great skill. It was an excellent experience.
I contacted Cage, the owner of Cage Jones Aaron, LLC, who, agreed to come to our home the next morning to look at the job and begin work if an agreement was made. Cage fortunately had a set-back in another job he was going to start and had 2 days free to do our work.
I had purchased the crown molding and had pre-painted it, ready to be installed. Cage began the work that morning and ran into several challenges dealing with an older home with a new remodeled section, the junction of which did not always run straight and plumb. He took it as a challenge, figured the best way to maximize the situation and moved forward.
The job was completed in the time he projected and all work was done without incident. When Cage arrived on the job, he all the tools he needed, set up right outside on the porch and began work. He arrived on time, and worked until the job was finished. I was impressed by the professionalism he conveyed in evaluating the work to be done, the way in which he executed his work, and the continuos methodical pace he kept. Upon completion, he cleaned up the area as he found it. In addition, Cage gave me some pointers and time savers on additional work that I am doing on the project. We were very pleased with the finished product and would recommend his company to anybody needing a quality, knowledgeable, finish carpenter.
