Description of Work: Perhaps a little pricy for the amount of work, but it was well done with a minimum of fuss.

Description of Work: Pete Botke at Buds Expert is our regular, go-to arborist. We recently had an urgent project that required removal of four old Douglas Firs after we learned they had been damaged. Buds' schedule did not allow them to perform the work, but Pete helped us identify and select another firm qualified to do the work safely. Helping us out - even though they could not do it themselves - is just another reason why we use Pete and Buds routinely. Most of the folks in our neighborhood do, as well. I highly recommend them.

Description of Work: I hired Buds Epert Tree Service to remove several trees and plant two new trees. The first portion of the job (removing 3 dead Alders, 1 live Alder, a dead portion of a Maple tree, and trim a red Maple and Alder) was accomplished in a satsfactory and professional manner. The crew worked dilligently and finished the job quickly. They downed the trees safely and removed all debris. The worker assigned to trim the 2 trees had a good eye and excellent skills. The two trees looked much better when he was finished. When it came to planting the 2 new trees, Buds Expert Tree Service's performance was somewhat lacking. They did not follow the diagram and instructions the City of Portland provides for planting new trees. The holes that were dug for the root-balls were not prepared properly. Plus the trees were not standing up straight. Two fundamental steps that help ensure the survival and healthy growth of the new trees. When I asked them to ensure that the trees were standing up straight, they seemed to be somewhat resentful and uncooperative. I was kind of surprised since they had performed very well up to that point. I would hire Buds Expert Tree Service again and recommend them to others, but watch them and ensure they complete their tasks properly and maintain high standards. Don't let them become lackadaisical and get in a hurry to leave.

Description of Work: Christmas storm left some large limbs, high up, hanging from a Douglas Fir in our back yard. Buds came in, removed the limbs from the tree, cut them into fireplace length and stacked them where asked. They also pruned other limbs from this tree and it's twin not far away to make them less susceptible to fierce east winds and pruned some branches that were interfering with a telephone line. They then raked up all the detritus in the back yard and disposed of it. In the front yard they pruned and lightened a large tulip tree and left the area clean and neat.

Description of Work: Pete pruned our ancient walnut tree on the parking strip and also pruned a MT Ash and a vine maple.

Description of Work: Trimmed 5 rhododendrons, wisteria, vine maple, Japanese dogwood and snowball bush (which was my neighbors and was hanging over fence on my property).

Description of Work: I have a large 60-80 year old maple tree that hadn't received any care in the last 10 years, as well as two pear trees, one of which had been neglected for a long time. I hired Pete to prune them.

Description of Work: Pruned 7-8 trees on the property. Two of them are huge with branches partially cover our house. They had some dead branches 30-40 feet up, and several of the trees were too close to the roof and power lines.
