Brendan was on time and recommended by our realtor. He let me follow him around and ask a ton of questions about what he was looking at and what issues he might see. His report covered everything that I remembered from his inspection and was thorough with pictures.
Two things stood out in my mind after the inspection that I should have asked about at the time of the inspection. Firstly, he didn't bring the equipment necessary to look at our roof or our attic. I should have cancelled the inspection right then and rescheduled at a time when he would have the appropriate equipment but I was a first time buyer and way too optimistic. Secondly, the home showed signs of water damage that I didn't know how to identify at the time but he should have. There is cracking/peeling paint around several windows, uneven wall surfaces, and the laminate flooring is bubbling underneath a window. Subsequent contractors have showed me these issues when at the house for other issues.
Overall, there haven't been major issues that we would have included in the repair requests to the seller but I definitely learned my lesson. If an inspector doesn't have the tools necessary to do an inspection, call it off to reschedule or find a different inspector.

Brendan was prompt, detailed and professional. He worked around several other inspectors and services we were having doen to evaluate a property we purchased. He spent almost 6 hours completing the inspection, periodically updating us, and documenting issues in detail with photographs. His report was speedy and thorough.

Brendan scheduled us on short notice and allowed me to shadow him throughout the inspection. He explained in detail everything he was looking for and showed me all his findings. He was extremely friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. In addition to the normal inspection, he was very helpful about suggesting overall home maintenance tips and ways to improve energy efficiency. He submitted our thorough inspection report complete with photographs the same day.

Mr. Fitzpatrick was very thorough; my realtor (who has 30 years of experience) had not experienced a home inspection as lengthy in the past. He not only thoroughly inspected the house, but also did a walk-through with me pointing out every issue he found, and made suggestions regarding dealing with each item. Then I received a 42 page detailed report. I would definitely hire him again.
