BARBARA SIMON LANDSCAPE DESIGN

When I first met Barbara, I thought should would be knowledgable and pleasant to work with. The questionnaire she had me fill out seemed to imply that she would try to understand what type of design I wanted for my front and back yards.  Working with her was a different story.  The first design she gave me basically ignored my questionnaire.  She apologized for this when she showed it to me, realizing that she had gone off on her own tangent away from what I asked for. However, she was argumentative when I would try to tell her things that I did or didn’t want. I finally ended the contract and paid her off, deciding to work with her 3rd attempt and make my own modifications from there.Additionally, Barbara was not good at incorporating permanent features like faucets or decks into her designs. I would not recommend her.

We are half way through a significant project with them. The old house we bought had no backyard at all. This has been a very big project and so far, we are very delighted with this too as well. Once again, we did a lot of research and kind of knew that we are going to get from great people. Barbara Simon is wonderful and Dinsdale Landscape construction is unbelievable. Barbara contacts me every week. She is an artist. I gave her a hugehouse.com file and she spends several days looking at the house from the inside and the out. She is integrating what goes hand outside and what is happening on the inside. Every view is perfect. The design for the yard is not fuzzy. It is just simple, perfectly, specifically in Northwest and delightful.

She was easy to work with.  We're very pleased with the way she listened and implemented our desires.  She was good at communication and had good availability.  I was pleased.

Pleasant experience. The overall process took place over several weeks with at least 4 face-to-face meetings in addition to visits she made to get her concept on paper. She takes her time, which in our case was okay. Might not be the best referral for someone who is on a highly limited timetable.
