Badger Electric

Unfortunately I cannot give zero stars. Like many people on this platform reviewing Badger Electric, I’ve never left a negative review before. They are truly inspiring. They are currently doing work on the basement of my 1940s apartment building, directly below my apartment, and the noise is horrendous, starts at 7:30am, and they are unwilling to start later. This work is apparently being spearheaded by the electric company, so my building manager hasn't had much of the information about what's going to happen and when. So, I was painfully awakened by continuous and loud banging, scraping, and other noises around 8am on Monday, that I did not have a heads up for - incredibly not trauma informed. I believe in approaching things directly, with curiosity & compassion. When I have approached the Badger Electric people (twice) to get information about when they will be making noise, the person called "Brian" has been rude and dismissive, and mansplained at length about all of the wires they are running, instead of answering my questions directly. I understand that noises are required for their work, and am not asking them to not do it, but simply was seeking information about when so I could have a trauma informed experience of this very disruptive period of what sounds like it will be three weeks. However, They are inconsiderate, seem to have no understanding or respect for the fact that they are daily entering other peoples' homes and making a lot of noise at a time when many people are sleeping. I really hope that Brian and the decisions they have made about when they "have to" start working every day, and how to so rudely respond to the logical questions of the people they are impacting with their work, are not representative of other experiences of working with this contractor, but based on this experience, if you want to not be treated terribly, do not hire this company. Kindness would be a great tool to add to your toolkit if this is the line of work you choose.

It took 4 trips due to forgotten parts and tools. Damaged a wall that I had to pay to repair afterwards.

We recently had Badger Electric install a new service panel in our residence. Mark (estimator) provided a sound quote and was able to answer all of my questions, Scott (electrician) and his apprentice did excellent work, and the office staff (Alma) were prompt in their billing. Overall, we were very pleased with the service we received.

Before the addition was even finished they had to come out and fix their work. They had to replace the smoke alarms twice. There have been three or four times that they have had to come out and fix their work. It's long out of warranty, so it costs the kind of money you'd expect. The last time they came out, the electrician, who did not know that it was Badger work he was fixing, told us that the thing that he was fixing had not been done right. This time, I called on a Friday when they opened at 8:00 am to get someone out to fix their work. I called several time throughout the day and was told that I would have the next person. Had I not called back at 3:15 pm, I would not have learned that nobody was coming and they that they closed at 4:00. I'm done with them.

The work is excellent and passed inspection with no problems. Every electrician who has been on site has been knowledgeable and efficient. It can take a few calls or emails to get quick answers, but when you need them on short notice for a problem, they make it work for you. We are hiring them again for another renovation.

It took over 6 phone calls and 2 months to get them to actually come do the job. 
I gave them the benefit of the doubt and called them again recently to do another job. 3 non responsive calls and I gave up. There name seems apropos now because your really do have to Badger them just to get there business.

Terribly. Badger left a number of items unfinished and we were told later that we would not be able to pass our Electrical inspection with the City unless they came back and fixed these things. It took weeks for Badger to get back to us and we were under a deadline for getting our permit closed out. When they finally did get back to us, they told us the night before that the only time the electrician would be able to come back was at 1pm the next day -- they gave us absolutely no notice, and no alternatives. This did not work for us, but we had no choice. When they showed back up, Brian had an awful attitude and was incredibly rude to me. Then they went and charged us again to fix all the things that should have been done correctly in the first place, so we ended up having to pay for their time and even driving time ?! twice, when it was their error. It was a nightmare and I would never use this company again.

Showed up on time. Done in one day and left area clean.

Scheduling NIGHTMARE - so not a good experience.

Jeff was on time and clearly very skilled in his work. He was efficient, making use of existing structures when possible. He also answered several questions we had about our panel and some existing wiring outside our home. We will definitely be calling them back for more work in the future. Thank you for your efficient and professional work!

Arrived within a half an hour of calling! Other places I tried didn't have anyone available for two weeks, so I was extra-thrilled at the  quick response time (I'm sure I got lucky -- don't hold them to similar timing necessarily!)  It was a simple fix on a wire that got burnt out in my furnace (burnt in half with slight pull), but was missed by the furnace repair guy I used (Anderson). Nice on the phone and in person too! :-)

Badger estimator was comfortably early to give the quote, and the team arrived punctually on the appointed day. There was never a moment without me feeling confident in their work. During the follow up inspection, the city employee said, "Ah, Badger," and proceeded to find the work was well done.

Horrible, DISHONEST, disrespectful, NOT ethical, no customer service....I could go on and on. I can't belive this guy is still in business. DONand quot;T hire this company. Tod, the owner, acts like he's a good guy BUT he's not. Once he's got you commited, all of the act and ethics goes out the window.
Tod was hired to do a duel job at our brand new home. He was recommended by Globe lighting. Tod was tooooooo busy to come to our home or even infom us he was sending a replacement. Upon arrival, Tod's workman was so rude, I acutally called Tod and informed him of the problem. Tod promptly got the workman on the phone and sent a second out to smooth things over. MY error was to actually trust them to continue the work. \\
DAMAGED a wall. our BRAND new wood floors and our BRAND new granite counter tops.
Workmen were dispatched to our home 3 additional times with a total of 5 different workmen actually coming to our home. Tod NEVER made the effort to come out to our property to coach his workmen or provide even the most limited amount of customer service. I actually started asking the workmen for their credentials and/or4 licenses.
The work was SO BAD that the pendent light vendor and the owner of Globe Lighting actually came to our house, apologized for the HORRIBLE experience and install. They made an appointment to remove all the mess left in our home and sent 2 of their representatives to RE-Wire ALL ALL ALL of the work. A week after the POOR work from Badger Electric was completely redone, the owner of Globe and Aaron the lighting rep, came to our home for a quality inspedtion.
Globe Lighting paid for the repairs of 2 holes that Badger Electric put in our wall, refinished our granite counter tops that the Badger workmen damaged while walking on them with their work boots on and repaired scratches on our hard wood floors that were scratched up by Badgers workmens boots and ladders.
Globe Lighting and the pendant light manufacturer IMMEDIATELY removed Tod and Badger Electric from their referral list. I also put in a complaint to Renaissance Homes to inform them of Tod poor work ethic and the damages his workmen did to our BRAND new home.
I spoke with Tod every step of the way. Tod never was able to provide us any type of service. He was indiffernet and could not be bothered with our negative experience. We requested a sit down at our home in which he declined. We asked for a partial refund, he REFUSED. BAD DISHONEST NOT ETHICAL Does not stand behind his work. DAMAGED our home.

Brian was on time every day explained what he was going to do and cleaned up after he was done.The job took 5 days but they
never left us without power at night and did a very good job with some difficult situations.Was nicely supprised when the bill arrived and it was for the estimated amount even though there were some changes that I asked for and a bathroom fan that they to buy a different larger model so it would cover the existing hole.

Service was completed over two days. Scheduling and work was excellent. Older houses can be complicated and they did a great job working with what was necessary to get the home up to standards necessary!

Breaker for hot water heater would not reset. Called Badger who was very understanding of urgency of the problem and was able to come by and fix it the same day. Excellent customer service.

Todd was prompt, professional, and extremely knowledgable about the era of the home (1908 craftsmen). When he was explaining the options of getting the house up to code, he made sure to educate me on the entire process. The job itself was very intense on doing all the repairs. At this time I chose not to do the upgrade but would defiantly use their services as needed. I also want to notate Todd goes above and beyond the call of duty of making sure you understand each step in the rewire process.

I was very happy working with Mike, Todd and Donna. They were very professional and prompt, I would recommend them and call them back for any electrical problem I have in the future.

They were on time and had a house call price. They came to complete one job and did additional work for the same house call price.

They are very good. They are low cost and key. They are also very quick.
