It worked out great with Area Floors. They were very helpful for us. We took the sample home and they weren't in a hurry to get it back and everything worked great. We have used them again. We bought a small little thing to put in front of our fireplace. We already used them twice.

On our first visit, I didn't feel like we were given very much help. We described our preferences for type of carpet (high traffic, young kids, cat) and were shown 2 or 3 different lines of carpet and then were pretty much left to browse on our own. Andrea was available for questions, but didn't offer much else without being asked. However, on our second visit, I had more questions for her and found her to be very helpful. We had a limited amount of time before our move-in and Andrea contacted the mill to make sure the carpet we wanted would arrive in time --which it did. She also recommended Marty from Dand M Floors for the installation and we were very happy with his work. The one unexpected thing that might have posed a problem, was that once the carpet arrived we only had a week to pick it up before paying for storage. Fortunately, our installation was on the last day of free storage, but if you're planning on installing later, you might want to ask about the details. Overall, we were very happy with their service and found their prices to be excellent.

It went very well overall. Installer (Marty Crouch from D and M Floors) was responsive to the needs of my project and did an excellent job. The job was fairly priced.

I first went to the showroom in Tigard to order vinyl flooring. After I made my selection, I ordered a piece for my bathroom. I was told when it arrived, they would call me to let me know. When I was called, a man told me my vinyl was ready for pickup at Swan Island. I work two jobs that add up to more than full time, and I did not have time to drive to Swan Island (I would not have ordered the vinyl had I known this; I live in Tigard). I had scheduled someone to install the vinyl the weekend after they called me, so I asked him to have it delivered it to the Tigard showroom so I could pick it up there. He said they'd work on it, though he said this wasn't standard practice (no one ever told me that when I bought it). This was a Monday night, and the installation was set for the following Saturday. I did not hear from them all week, though I left two more phone messages. Finally, I was able to talk to him again Friday morning, the day before installation. I was told that it would arrive later in the day but was reminded, again, that they don't normally do this (ie, it was a guilt trip). When I called later in the afternoon to make sure it was there, he said yes, so I said I'd come over to pick it up. He asked what I was driving and when I said I have a compact car, he said that might be a problem since the vinyl was rolled up length-wise (5' x 12" piece). They emphasized that I should be having my "contractor" take care of all this. Again, I was never told this when I bought it. He said that when I got there, they could roll up the vinyl from the short side to fit in my car. When I got there, another salesperson said that I have to ask for that in advance, so no, it could not be re-rolled. I picked up the 12' roll and carried it to the door and as I was struggling keep control of it, she asked if she could help me as she was sitting at her desk. You think? They really need to communicate up front that the person buying the product needs to arrange to pick it up elsewhere (quite far away), and to be prepared with a large vehicle or very secure way of strapping it to the vehicle. They also should return phone calls.

Upstairs apartment needed old linoleum removed and replaced. Approached Area floors for choices, and was told that a commercial grade of Marmoleum would be a better choice. It was, nice sales staff, and no hard sale. Very satisfied with contractor as well.

I WOULD USE THEM AGAIN AND I WAS VERY HAPPY WITH THE SERVICE. THEY MEASURED INCORRECTLY AND WHEN THE LINOLEUM CAME IN, AND IT WAS SHORT BY ONE FOOT, BUT THEY CORRECTED THE PROBLEM AND GAVE ME A DISCOUNT, SO IT WORKED OUT FINE IN THE END.
