Ants and Bugs Be Gone Pest Control

At first he thought because of their size these were sugar ants.
I explained I did have sugar ants but I had had
larger ants identical to these. I had literally put them under a
scope and I had positively identified them as carpenter ants.
He sprayed around the base of the house and put some bait in an
external wall.
He offered to spray under the kitchen sink but I had no ants there so I
declined. A few days later it was raining and I had a swarm of
carpenter ants in the house. There are no longer any ants around the base of the
house so they are no longer getting any bait. I called him during my
last swarm into my kitchen and never got a reply. I have carpenter ants
in the kitchen, living room and bathroom. My sugar ants are dead but
not the carpenter ants which can have more that one satellite colony in a
house. It is now 10-1-13. I have yet to talk with Chris.

I think that they did a great job. I had to call them back 4 times because the ants just weren't going away. They came back every time. There was only one time that we set up an appointment and they didn't show up and they didn't call. I don't know what happened.

I got a speedy estimate over the phone after seeing a friend's Facebook post. Even though they are listed for Portland, Oregon, they made it clear there would be no extra expense for the drive to Salem. (As I later found out from the owner, their goal is to be the first choice for bug extermination for all of Northwest Oregon.)
Chris Nelson from Ants and Bugs be Gone showed up right on time for the appointment at my house in Salem-Keizer. I showed him a couple problem areas and he shared with me why my over-the-counter approaches (chemicals from Lowes, traps from Home Depot) didn't work. It was likely that I had multiple nests harassing my family.
Chris set about his work and completed the whole house, upstairs and down, in about 45 minutes. It probably could have been less time if I wasn't asking a million questions. He answered them all quickly, factually and with a smile.
What I liked most is that he explained to me what he was going to do in every different spot and then he took me around and showed me where he was going to do it at. He explained to me the chemicals he was using and any precautions I should take. Then, when he was done, he showed me all the work he'd done.
I really like being more educated about my home so Chris's presentation was perfect. He told me not to expect a miracle and that he might need to treat again in 3 weeks. It's been a week and a half and we haven't seen a single ant anywhere in the house!
We also have a problem in the Spring and Summer with pavement and carpenter ants. When/if they appear again this season, Chris and his team will be my FIRST call.
