Best price, personable, straightforward.  Did exactly what he said he'd do on time.  Quality of the work was very good.

Supplier did a good job cleaning the floors.  Stairs were claian extra cost which we gladly paid.  This was not clearly stated in the Angie's list deal, but the cost was not out of line.

I was happy.

When there were minor misunderstandings between the owner and his crew, they were always resolved to our satisfaction. Allen, the owner, said "I may not make money on every job, but every job results in a happy customer". We are happy with the end result of this job.
One of the issues was inexperience by one of his crew in repairing the drywall. This was resolved quickly by the owner by bringing in another worker to finish the job.
We felt Allen was very conscientious and checked in frequently to make sure we were satisfied. We would use him again.

The owner Allen came out to meet with me. He was very knowable! I felt his prices were very reasonable. The quality of the work was excellent. Allen and his crew seemed to really care about the work they did. He also looked at a few things for my neighbor during his initial visit. I have since recommended him to other family members and will use him again in the future.

We were under a tight time schedule as we were heading out of town for 11 weeks and we had water draining into our basement in severe rain.  And because of horrendous pouring rain that whole month of December, 2012, we were down to the very end of December.  But Allen got his crew on the job in almost unworkable weather and finished, mostly, everything.  I say mostly, because we did need additional crushed rock when we returned, but our back yard drainage problems are now solved and allow us to have peace of mind with Portland's heavy amount of rainfall.  Allen explained what we needed well beforehand.  He gave us a couple of choices.  The work was messy and a terrible burden for his workcrew, but done well and the back yard gives me pleasure to look at from my kitchen every single day.  I would hire this company again without question.

I found All Service on Angies List and called for an estimate. Alan came over to do an estimate. Usually I am not in a rush with work on my rentals but I had already found renters for this house so I wanted to be sure the work would be done before they moved in. Alan said it would and iindeed it was. His emplyees worked long hours. I will use All Service again when I need work on my rentals done.well.

I was leery at first: the estimate took forever to get and when if finally came, the completion date was so impossibly fast that I knew it had to be a mistake. But the price was better by a wide margin than any other estimate we'd received and we weren't in a rush to see the work done so I accepted the bid and crossed my fingers that they'd be more responsive once the job started. My gamble paid off: once they started the job, they were on it! They were courteous, conscientious and professional. When they discovered lead paint in the bathroom they followed all proper removal protocols and didn't once mention changing the estimate. I was right about the completion date, but they didn't drag it out. The only caveat was that on one or two days there was no one on site that spoke English. That made communication awkward but not impossible.

All in all we were very happy. We plan on using All Service for other jobs in the future: that's the best recommendation I can give.

This was one of those thankless, unrewarding repair jobs where nothing is beautiful when finished, it's just not ugly and sopping wet anymore.  

Most important is that Allen always responded promptly and compassionately to our calls for help.    He also seems to really know his water-seepage/pourage/drainage stuff.  He is cautious and realistic.   He spent at least two hours carefully figuring out the best approaches.   We knew that with our old basement there was no quick fix and maybe not even a sure fix.  But we were confident in his skills and integrity. 

Because the weather has been fairly dry since this latest repair, we can't know for sure yet if this solution is the final one. 

I will add to this review at a later date when we've gone through some multiple-day heavy rains.

ADDED ON DEC. 27 2015.   After the wettest Dec. on record, our basement is still dry!!!

The initial start was that something kept changing in my mind that it should be done and finally reworked as what should be done then he did. He was recommended to me by someone who had already worked with him. I also had used him six months ago and he done a great job so I hired him again. I had water in my basement and I think it was coming from our neighbors down spell I believe also I had springs in the area. So I had them go down in the deep ditch. I also had to make a testing why a placed appeared to be leaking. He dug down there and found that there was a small crack. I thought that his pricing was fair for the first time. He listened to me whenever I had options and he was easy to talk to.

They are very professional and friendly.  It was a very pleasant experience.

As we have always found with this company, their work is top notch....excellent in every regard.  Allen and his crew go the extra mile for customer satisfaction.  The results were outstanding..beautiful paint, clear new windows.  What I really like about All Service is that they can take care of many jobs at the same time....not only are they great painters, they are also fantastic woodworkers.  We had a deadline to get ready for our daughter's wedding; All Service made sure that our job was completed on time with fabulous results.  Be sure to call them when you need painting or woodworking.

The job ended up being more than what I originally thought.  The drain was completely blocked by the street and they fixed part of the problem in the back yard.  I've been trying to get in touch with them to have them fix my backyard as well.  They all worked hard and carried off everything.

We had some water intrusion in the basement of our new house. Most contractors wanted to install an interior French drain, but I wanted to take care of it from the outside.

They arrived on time, were courteous and professional, and were exceptionally hard workers. They hand dug the dirt around the foundation so as not to disturb the actual foundation, and were sensitive to the fact that we have children in the house. They blocked off all dangerous areas when they weren't working, and installed plastic over the new egress windows so the stink of the waterproof membrane wouldn't enter the house. There was a very tricky concrete install under the deck, and Alan squeezed under there himself and finished it.

They cleaned up very well each day, and were great to work with.

I received three bids for the work described above and All Service was by far the lowest. The thing that worried me, though is that the estimate took weeks to get. When  called them and complained, they apologized and guaranteed that they would be much more responsive in the future. They had their backup estimator bid the job: the price was right, but I knew that their projected timeline for completion (just a few days) was utter nonsense. (Even with a team of workers, the drying time alone for the paint and drywall would take longer than that!) Despite this bad first impression and against the advice of other home-owning friends, I decided to trust them and awarded them the job. From that point on, they busted their tails to impress me and they succeeded! The work they did was beautiful and tight. My wife and I both work from home and even when they were working in the rooms we work from, they went out of their way to make sure we were disrupted as little as possible. It was a little daunting when the work took ten days longer than their estimate but as I noticed, I never believed the original time estimate anyway. (When I spoke to their primary estimator afterward, he was much more accurate.) And even when they ran into unforeseen trouble - like old lead paint in the bathroom - they stuck to their original estimate despite the additional work. All in all, I give All Service good marks and would use them again without hesitation.

They determined the source of the leak, which was the main downspout from the front of the house. They were able to stop this leak. They will be coming out this spring to install a ditch and defer the water on the backside of the house.

I contacted All Service by e-mail and set up an appointment. Their project manager came to the house right on time and examined the basement wall, both inside and out, and took measurements. He recommended a few things I could do on my own (clean the gutters, redirect the rain barrel overflow or reconnect the downspouts). And then described work that All Star could perform, adding a protective liner to the leaking wall. Later that night I received a detail estimate by e-mail. After I agreed to the work and sent in 1/3 of payment, the office manager set up a schedule for the work crew. The crew did the work in two days-one day to dig out the foundation and apply the first coat the second day to apply a second coat and liner and put dirt back. Crew was hard working and returned the yard back to how they found it. The only delays were due to weather: this work couldn't be done if the weather was too wet and we did get a lot of rain.

My husband and I decided to remodel a front bedroom in our 1911 house. After we stripped the layers of paint and wallpaper, we saw the plaster on the walls was in pretty bad shape. I had remembered we had used All Service Construction last year for the drywall in our bathroom and since they did such an amazing job I decided to call them about this room. The receptionist was very friendly on the phone and was able to get us an estimate appointment time that was quick and fit both schedules. Allen arrived very promptly and he was very polite. He remembered us and the dry wall job in the bathroom from the year before. It was nice to have the familiarity. He told me the steps needed to complete our room and allowed me to decide how much work I wanted to do vs how much I wanted them to do. I liked having the options put before me. He also educated me on why they would have to use oil based primer, and I appreciated the greater understanding of the process. The workers were very pleasant and did a beautiful job on our room. The entire process, sanding the walls, priming, skim coating, and painting took 1.5 days! It was amazing. I would absolutely hire All Service Construction for all of our household remodeling/painting work.

Excellent service from estimate, to explanation of problem and solutions, to quality workmanship. All done in a professional manner, with attention to detail, concern about cleanliness, and at a resaonable price. The company workers and supervisor were punctual and stayed late to finsish the job.

The company took the time to really determine where the leaking was coming from. It was not the inside of the house, but the outside. I was given 3 different quotes which required 3 different ways to fix the problem. One was cheaper and more of a temporary fix. The second was a solution which would fix the leak and prevent future problems, which required more work and cost more. The third quote was to add to the others if I wanted and that was to include a drainage system. I went with the second quote and schedule a date the following week. I received a call stating they could start earlier and I accepted. The workers showed up on time and were respectful of my yard by placing plywood down to store the dirt. They worked until 8:30 at night so they could apply the sealant. They finished the job the next day which was Saturday. They did this because it was expected to rain Sunday on... Originally the estimate included digging 4 feet down the length of the house. While they were digging they realized that the concrete was extended to half of the house. I received a discount to adjust to the change. The workers were professional and respectful. Allen came by to make sure that the work was being done properly as promised. I was pleased with the company and would use them again!!
