My experience was excellent. My wedding band was a standard plain 14 carat band that I had worn for close to 35 years. My diamond solitaire ring did not pair very well with the band but I had never sought to change anything because both rings had great sentimental value to me.
I explored first with Carter the notion I had of buying two new very thin gold bands embedded with small diamonds that could be worn on either side of my engagement ring. Then, Carter came up with the idea of using my existing wedding band and splitting it in half to create two narrow bands and then embedding each with small diamonds. Carter also suggested that instead of creating 2 slender thin bands, he could change the contours of my old wedding band to better pair with the engagement ring, and then place small diamonds all around the band. Our discussion took about an hour and throughout Carter was very creative, professional, and eager to come up with an idea that I was enthusiastic about. His idea to use my existing band and refashion it to match my engagement ring was the perfect solution. My husband was extremely pleased too.
After our discussion, I left my band with Carter. In a few days, he called me to come in to make sure that he had sized my band and shaped it correctly to match my engagement ring. In a few more days, I came in to pick up the wedding band. It is beautiful, pairs perfectly with my solitaire engagement ring, and sparkles brilliantly. I couldn't be happier and highly recommend this jewelry store and Carter, the resident jeweler, especially.

I entered the store with some trepidation. First, because I brought my teenage children along and I feared that the store personnel would be uncomfortable having kids around since there were so many beautiful watches on display. Second, I imagined that they might not take me very seriously since I certainly didn't look like a big spender (to say the least!) and since all I needed was a watch band (purchased elsewhere) installed on my very humble Citizen watch (also purchased elsewhere).
Well, let me say that my concerns were unfounded. The personnel were very friendly. They engaged both children in conversation and were genuinely interested in what they had to say. They took my son around the store on a little tour, taking out the watches for closer inspection and telling him about the history of particular models. My son especially liked the model that the Apollo astronauts wore to the moon!
While this was going on, the jeweler (Alex, I think) was working my watch band. When I first tried it on it seemed a little tight. and quot;Just one more link should do it,and quot; he said. When he finished adding the final link, the band fit perfectly. And t looked great, with absolutely no scratches or irregularities. The reason I point this out is that I had a very different experience at one of the local mall jewelers recently with a similar watch band. Let's just say that after an hour and several attempts, the band still did not fit properly AND it looked unsightly, with several links damaged and scratches. I was told that some expansion type bands are simply devilish to work on, yada yada..
In contrast to the mall experience, Alex's service was fast and professional. Overall, the store visit was very enjoyable. There's even a parking garage right across the street, so parking was not a problem. I will definitely return there in the future. And I am not affiliated with this store or its personnel other than being a satisfied customer!

The screen on my electronic watch went blank. I took it to Watchworks and waited while they replaced the battery. They worked on it immediately. However, he tested the old battery, found it fully charged, replaced it into the watch, and the watch worked fine. He declined to charge me for his time, service, or expertise.

I felt welcomed, I was impressed by the selection of watches and jewelry that is carried there. I expected a little watch repair place but instead found an interesting and compelling array of merchandise in a very nice setting. The man who took care of me could have charged me for his time but instead, as the repair only took a few minutes, he charged me nothing. I wasn't a customer before - but certainly will be in the future.

Working with this repair shop was an absolute delight. The shop itself is inviting and clean. The jewelers are helpful, informative, professional and not at all pushy. I felt very comfortable leaving the watch there. The estimate was provided within just a couple of days and the work was completed well ahead of the estimated schedule. On top of the repair, they replaced the crystal and polished the watch surface until it was just gleaming. Couldn't be happier.

A particular example was a man's 18K Rolex President. He replaced the mainspring, lengthened the bracelet, serviced the watch, and gave the exterior a perfect refinishing polish (a task I've seen other so-called "experts" ruin Rolex finishes). When I picked up the 20+-year-old watch, I was stunned that it's appearance was that it had "never been touched" - as in, like new in the box. The new link he added to the bracelet was completely indistinguishable from the original links. It worked perfectly and timing was actually slightly better than when new. I was amazed he did this superb job without disturbing the original green plastic seal on back of the case (I never removed it -- idiosyncrasy of mine). At my most recent visit, he serviced several watches for me, except one: he advised me to return my lady's Concord Delirium (world's thinnest watch) to the factory for servicing because of the special nature and value of that particular watch. I trust Alex's Watchworks absolutely.
