Lucian thoroughly explained why there was no picture on our tv and how it could be repaired and the cost. He ordered the parts and promptly completed the work. We are very happy with the work performed and would highly recommend.

When our picture went blank on our 2-year-old TV, Lucas gave us a probable diagnosis and price estimate over the phone...burned out LED lights.  Repairs needed to be done in his shop, so he picked up the TV, replaced 4 LED light strips, brought it back and hooked it up.  BUT THE BEST PART is he explained the lights had burned out so soon because the "back lighting" had been factory-set at 100%.  He showed us how to go into "settings" and he set "back lighting" at 50% and the picture is still great.  He said the lower the setting, the longer lights last...so play with setting until you lower as much as possible and still get a good picture.  He was knowledgeable, took time to explain everything and does the repairs himself.

First spoke with "Luke" on Saturday 09/19. Hearing my description of the failure symptoms, Luke indicated it was likely the main power supply that failed. Noting it was a common failure.  Gave me a cost estimate over the phone for labor and materials.

He picked up the TV that same day.

Performed the service in his shop. He noted he preferred to have it in the shop so he would have adequate time to check for any other possible problems.

His diagnosis was correct, defective power supply.

Returned the TV a day earlier than promised on Wednesday 9/23. Reconnected the video and power and ensured the TV was operating normally before he left.

The final bill amount was as he had quoted.

Luke is knowledgeable, thorough and takes great pride in his work.

The repair has a 6 month warranty.

Definitely would recommend Luke.

He was great.  It would have been less for me to take the TV to him but was worth it for him to come to the house. I didn't have to  unhook everything and then hook it back up, lug it,( it's heavy), up and down stairs.  He had the TV taken apart, diagnosed and repaired within 40 minutes.  Fascinating to watch.

I contacted Lucian on Friday, and he was at my house the next morning.  He diagnosed the problem within minutes, but was unable to fix the TV that day because he didn't have the right size part.  He told me he would order the part and be back Monday to install it, which he was. The TV works great.

Besides being a very nice person to work with, Lucian is skilled and knowledgeable in electronics and computers. I happened to mention a problem I was having with my computer, and he was kind enough to look at it.  It ended up he took the laptop, repaired it, and it has never run faster.  He did a great job for an affordable fee.

I would highly recommend Lucian.

Luke said he would be there between 9 and 10 and he was there at 9am sharp which I really appreciated. It was an easy fix for him and he was done within a half hour. He was very professional. There is a 6 month guarantee which is great. The cost would have been only $150.00 but because the TV was too big and awkward for me to move to his shop there was a $50.00 house call fee which was well worth it.

He fiddled around with the converter and the rabbit ear antenna but could only get the one channel. Basically i paid $50 for nothing.

Lucian was fantastic.  Very professional and well presented.  As someone who likes to tinker, I had already pulled the power board out looking for blown capacitors.  When I saw nothing obvious, I left it mostly apart and contacted expert help.  Lucian quickly recognized that either the ballast was bad (no tell tale charging sound) or the power module was bad.  He prepared his vehicle to carry the 62" DLP back to his shop and we loaded it up.  about 10days later the TV was back and working good as new.   I would recommend him again in a heartbeat.

Lucian was prompt, courteous, and professional.  He kept me informed of times to perform the service, estimated fees, and probable problem.   He knew what the problem was, had the part, and fixed the TV in-home within 30 minutes. Cleaned up the area, replacing the television to it's normal spot.  The fee was reasonable, and I would recommend Affordable TV Repairs to everyone, as well as use the service again when I have a problem.  His company should be called "Affordable _and Quality_ TV Repairs".
