He was professional and did good work. He had advertised a senior discount; and, when I asked him about it, he didn't acknowledge that he had advertised that. Plumbing is expensive, but I think his costs were competitive, and I know most other plumbers would have made the job into a much more expensive one than necessary. I like that he actually fixes things instead of trying to sell you new stuff. I would hire him again.

He was very responsive and came within the hour that I called. I happened to be home so that was convenient. 
His initial estimate was very high ($300) in my opinion but after a long stand-off, we agreed to $200. It was still too high but I didn't want to go through the process again. He got the block cleared. I would hope so, he's a plumber. I guess I would use him again but I would be ready to negotiate. Overall, I would have been happier without the need for negotiation of a fair price but other than that he was professional and prompt.

Our kitchen faucet started leaking where the faucet hose connected to the spray nozzle. Gene came out and inspected it but did not have a replacement part. He told us how to get one from the manufacturer under warranty and once we got it sent to us (for free) , he came back out and replaced the hose without charging us for the first trip. Great guy. Will use him again.

Gene, the boss, advised me over the phone about the situation (I was out of town at the time) before coming to my home. He then came to my home, inspected the situation at the water supply line near the street, and with my neighbor's help to open the house, he inspected my garage, and home including my crawl space, to exclude leaking pipes.  Gene determined correctly that no pipes had burst.  He gave me very helpful recommendations to avoid recurrence of water pipes freezing in the future.  His charge for this was minimal.
At the time this frozen pipe problem 1st developed (during the big freeze in Dec. 2013), Gene was the ONLY plumber I could get to to even discuss the problem by phone since all plumbers (including Gene) were extremely busy with customers calling about frozen pipes.  None of the other plumbers were willing to make the time to call me to discuss the issue the same day I called for help.  This was the 2nd time Gene was the only plumber I could get to help me at an inconvenient time.  The 1st time, several yrs ago,  I had developed a water leak on Labor Day weekend, that turned out to be due to a crack in my sprinkler system intake pipe. Again, Gene was the ONLY plumber I could find who would even discuss the problem with me.  Gene came out that same  day, dug out the cracked pipe and repaired it expertly.  Gene goes above and beyond the call of service in my estimation (and I'm d*** fussy).  If you want the job done expeditiously, and correctly, Gene is the plumber to call.  Don't be put off by his mild foreign accent over the phone -- this man is marvelous at his work in both his thinking, and his hands.  I can't say enough good things about him.

I met Gene several years ago when he did work for a general contractor I used for a bath remodel.  I liked his work then, so I called him back for a water heater replacement.  He explained that the price was a little high because it was a slightly odd size heater, and the original heater's water connections had to be replaced.  He was available within a couple of days and did the job promptly.  I also had him install frost-proof hose bibbs on my main home.  He is straightforward and fair, and he cleaned everything up nicely.  Very good work.

All went very smoothly. They came on time, were very professional and got the job done quickly. I was very pleased and would call them again.

I was very anxious when I discovered the water running down my basement wall. It was late Saturday afternoon and I was worried about getting a repairman here to work on the problem. Gene arrived within 30 minutes and quickly assessed the situation, began working on the outside before dark, and was finished within 90 minutes. He cleaned up the areas of work and alleviated my anxiety about the repairs as he worked. I would recommend Gene for any plumbing repairs and plan to have him do some work for me in the future.

Our 4-5 year old Rinaii water-heater was working, but had started to sound different earlier in the summer.  I read on-line that the units should be serviced and cleaned regularly. I called Affordable Plumbing after checking Angie's List.  Owner GENE KASATKIN was available and at our home within an hour, after giving me an estimate.  He was extremely professional and efficient.  He explained exactly what he did and recommended a cleaning schedule for the future.  When I mentioned we had a sink that has "gurgled" ever since it was installed he offered to take a look.  He diagnosed the problem and fixed it after giving me a price to do so.  Gene is Trustworthy, Knowledgeable, and Efficient.  A pleasure to deal with.

It went very well.  I made an appointment with this company as it was listed on the manufacturer's website for authorized service providers and I made sure I vetted the company through Angie's List before hand. The Technician/plumber arrived on time, seemed thoroughly knowledgeable with the product and completed what he said he would do.  He could have insisted on performing additional work but once he immersed himself in the job, he concluded that some of the additional work was unnecessary.  He was not looking to overcharge.  
This was not an emergency call but a routine maintenance check/once-over.  I believe these pay for themselves in the long run.  I was pleased with his work and will not hesitate to have him return in a year.

Gene responded quickly, was able to provide same day service.  Arrived in a timely manner.  Provided options for addressing the problem (huge backup of kitchen drainage into the bathtub - ugh!).  Went with the option that was more expensive, but that would ultimately fix the problem correctly and with better results.  As he was working, discovered a crack in the P trap line to the house, which he replaced free of charge.  Advised me on the purchase of a biological enzyme treatment to be used monthly to disolve grease and hair clogs.  Gentle, easy man, not a hard sell, but clearly preferring to do the job right.

Arrived one  hour after we called ,spent 2 hours figuring out the cause of the leak and repairing it. He was very pleasant and courteous He explained the problem with diagrams. We thought the cost was very reasonable. The cost included material that would prevent the clog from reoccurring,  and parts needed to repair the defect.  We would definitely hire this professional again.

We have used Gene twice.  The second time he was able to come the very next day and he called before he came to ask if it was okay to come a little early.  He provided us with a couple of choices after assessing the situation.  He is low key, polite, and not manipulative.  Both of the jobs he did for us have withstood the test of time.  We couldn't be happier with his work.

TOP NOTCH service on this one.   Gene cleared time the next day to do the work before another job, got the crew here and promptly started at 7:30a.m. as promised.  Kept in good communication with email the night before re/ETA and a written bid that matched our conversation earlier in the day.  Very pleasant crew (3 including Gene), courteous and respectful.  The lowest bid on the project (I got 3 bids), and the fastest response (next closest would've been another 48 hours out).  All this makes a HUGE difference when you have a family suddenly, completely out of water (thank God for great neighbors!).

Very well.  He showed us a few other things and we will definately be following up on a grander scale in the future.

Overall, the experience was good. No estimate was able to be given over the phone, but the plumber did a very good job!
