AFFORDABLE JJ LOCK & KEY

I called and talked to Mr. Moore, the owner, and he made an appointment immediately. He arrived on time and knew exactly what was wrong with my locks. The doors are old and he had to leave to purchase parts but did not charge me for his travel and away-time. He is professional and knowledgeable. He concentrated on the job and finished in a timely manner. I am pleased with his work. The locks posed a safety hazard in that the door would be locked with you inside and you could not unlock the door and get out. You had to go outside and unlock the door with the key.

No complaints about JJ's work. He showed up on time and was easy to deal with. The screen door was an unexpected request, but he had a new handle that worked on hand and installed it. When it developed a minor problem a few weeks after installation he promptly returned and took care of it at no charge. I don't have a lot of locksmith experiences to compare him to on price, but was pleased with his efforts. He's old school, and I liked that.

I needed locks changed and added on some apartment units in a hurry. I liked JJ's friendly nature on the phone, and his oral bid, so I requested the work the same day. I had to cancel with him that first time, but he was just as friendly and accommodating when I called back to reschedule. JJ showed up on time and spent several hours working on 7 doors total - changing locks on locksets and deadbolts. He saved me some money by using some old parts that I had in my inventory and provided a lock installation for free. Of course, I would have liked the final bill to have been less, but I think JJ's price was very competitive, I think... and I'm sure his attitude sense of humor, and his technical know-how made the experience a good one. I will certainly call JJ first the next time I need a locksmith.

He was the first of at least 6 Angie's list locksmiths I called from a neighbor's house that could come that day! JJ arrived quickly, opened my door and charged me about 1/3 less than I was expecting. Very pleasant and professional. I remembered that a neighbor had used him years ago and I met him then but had forgotten who he was when I needed him. I now have his name and number listed in my cell contacts!

After calling around the local Alameda/Beaumont/Freemont/Alberta area for locksmiths to change the locks in our new house, I decided to go with JJ based not only on his competitive pricing, but his friendly demeanor on the phone, and his boasting of having been in the neighborhood for over 20 years. I'm all about supporting small local businesses, and was very happy to have been rewarded for this decision with excellent service, experienced and knowledgeable advice and prompt, speedy work. JJ was great to work with, arrived on time, and charged me exactly what he said he would on the phone.
