I dropped in today to have them look at my camera and determine whether it needed a repair. They looked it over and showed me that the camera was functioning as it was supposed to. No repair needed!

On 07/09/15 I took my camera lens to Advance Camera for a repair estimate.
I told them that I was leaving on a
trip in a month and I wanted to know if it would be worth it to repair the lens
or if it would be better to buy a new one to take on my trip.  I said I
wasn't interested in paying over $200.00 for the repair.
The person at the counter said that
it would be $90.00 to have the tech look at it, and if it was an easy repair
then that should take care of it.   If they had to replace a part then
they would call me with an estimate for additional parts and labor.
$90.00 seemed expensive but I agreed
to have the tech look at it.  I was given an estimate of one week for a
reply.
I paid a $40.00 deposit.
After one week I had not heard
anything from them, so my wife called to check on the status.  They said
the tech had not had a chance to look at it yet.
I called back the following week (now 2 weeks later) and asked about the
progress.  Again, I was told that the tech had not looked at
it.  I told the person on the phone that I didn't want to get a call a few
days before my trip with them telling me that the lens is not done, or they had
to order a part and it won't be ready.  He assured me that he would be in
touch soon and let me know what the progress was.  I asked if I cancelled
now before the tech looked at it would I get my deposit back he said he did not
know.
My wife called back one week later (now the 3rd week), and told them that the
lens has to be done by 07/29/15 to take on our family vacation.  She was
told that they would rush the repair to meet our deadline, because even at this
point no one had looked at the lens.
On 07/27/2015 my wife was told that
the lens had a broken part and they would have to order a replacement, and it
would take about another week to repair.
This insured that the lens would not be available for our family trip,
which was the only reason why I getting the repair done at this time.  My wife was told that the part would be
$45.00.
I called back and approved the
repair.
At this point we left for our trip
without the lens.  We returned a week
later still no word from them.
My wife called and was told that
they were working on it now.
The first call we received from them
was on 08/12/15 saying the lens was ready for pick up.
I went to pick up the lens on
08/13/15 and was charged $60.00 for the part and an additional charge for labor of
$55.00 bringing the total charge to $205.00.
This is exactly what I expressed I
did not want to have happen.
I repeatedly told them that I wanted
the lens for the trip, and I didn?t want to spend a lot on the repair.
I was very disappointed with every
part of this transaction.
After a long telephone conversation
the manager agreed to refund $35.00 off of the total charge.
One odd thing is that he offered
several times to buy the lens from us, which we did not understand.  We felt like he was going to resell the lens
to someone else.
Again, the whole experience was
awful.

From beginning to end the service provided was quality, it's what I expect from a business, but rarely get these days. Upon walking in, the staff immediately greet and ask how they can help. My grandsons first birthday is this weekend, so I had to have my camera for this very special occasion. Received my camera back in less than a week looking spiffy and acting much better than when I brought it in.

I noticed the Angie's List sign up at Advance Camera today, and since we've recently joined Angie's List I wanted to write a review. I have taken classes through Advance Camera, had one-on-one tutoring from Jordan Sleeth, and had repairs and sensor cleaning done through this business. They are professional, honest, fair-priced, knowledgeable, and NICE! You can tell that customer service is a priority for them. Jordan is a patient, clear and informative teacher. He WANTS you to learn and improve your photography skills. He helped me figure out two important things on my camera today. I would highly recommend Advance Camera to others.

I recently stopped by Advance Camera because I was concerned my DSLR was not functioning properly (losing sharp focus, excessive noise, sensor may be going, etc.) and I might need to be looking for a new camera. While I have been working with cameras for a long time, I have never had a digital camera reach its end of life with me, so I had no idea what I should be doing if that was in fact actually happening.

I spent a while having a very informative chat with Jordan. He suggested a few different settings in my camera and taught me about some limits my camera might have once you put it on a tripod and use a remote, etc., etc. I had done some testing prior to taking it in and we looked at those test shots together. He even offered to review other pictures I thought were concerning via email and see if he could make suggestions. Turns out he was right on the idea that I was reaching a diffraction limit in my camera and once I was above a certain ISO the noise from the (not really that much) higher ISO combined with the diffraction limit made for poor images in my opinion.
Jordan saved me a lot of time and money and I learned a lot during our conversation. He is very knowledgeable and I would definitely recommend paying them a visit if you are having any issues with your camera.

We had an emergency situation with our camera that needed to be looked at immediately. They were willing to look at the camera that day on my lunch hour. Not only were they willing to look at it, but they figured out the problem and fixed it in about 2 minutes.
We are pretty rough on our cameras and have used Advance Camera Repair several times in the past. They have always done a great job. I wouldn't take our cameras anywhere else.

I found Advanced Camera Repair on Angie's List because they had the highest ranking available. They fixed the camera in a week and charged a reasonable price.

They did a good job. I was very happy and everything worked fine. They seem to be very knowledgeable. Price wise had I realized that it would cost so much I might as well bought a new camera. But I think it was in the ballpark. I would use them in the future.

We have done business with them for years. I last took my camera in to be updated and he didn't even charge for the service. They are very helpful, knowledgable, and reliable.

I have not had problems with the store front. They are pleasant. They do not say you need unnecessary repairs. They are knowledgable but are not pushy. The only problem I have had, I was going to take lessons but the instructor bailed and they never communicated that with me, though I had not paid yet.

Advanced Camera completed the repairs ahead of schedule and for the quoted amount. The lenses now perform good-as-new. This is a non-big box photo store and photo repair shop and I will continue to support them with my business.

Excellent service, but most importantly one is buying camera equipment from people who USE the stuff. They know what they are talking about. No sales pressure, no slick marketing.

I brought the cameras in and they told me how much the work would cost. I approved the cost and they did all of the work that they said they would. The cameras now work great again. I do not do digital cameras so I appreciated the work that they did not me. I would absolutely use them again in the future.

I called to confirm that this company could repair my camera model. The fellow on the phone said the company could, so I dropped off my camera on a Saturday and said I'd pick it up the following weekend. On that following Saturday, I called to confirm that my camera was ready. The repair person was unaware I was expecting to get my camera; however, he had the camera ready for me by the end of the day.

After a camera drop and broken lens area, we brought it in for repair. Advance Camera Repair was honest about expectations and price and performed the job to our expectations. It did take a week, but it was quality work and we appreciated it.

Great overall experience. Jordan was very friendly and helpful. I brought in my camera for repair. There seemed to be a problem with the hot shoe. Flash was firing erratically. They looked at it while I waited. Turned out the hot shoe was loose and just needed to be tighten. It only took a few minutes to fix- no charge!

Their prices were ok. They were very slow at getting the work done, however. They were not very responsive. They also had lost the battery charger for the camera and we have not received it back from them yet.

They went into detail on what would be done and what it would cost. Camera was ready when they said it would be (by the next day). They also provided me a before and after picture from the camera showing that dust was no longer appearing on pictures. Very satisfied.

My camcorder was not working properly on vacation, likely due to humidity in the deep south. It didn't work well when we arrived home, so I took it to Advance Camera. The staff is very helpful, and give you all the options before taking the camera. They definitely don't want to do work that isn't necessary, causing increased expense. I was very impressed with their service, and friendly manner. I expected a few days in the shop, but my camera was done the very next day, and seems to work great.
