A-1 Muffler

They are very confident and knowledgeable. If I have to do anything with an exhaust or catalytic converter, I wouldn't even go to anyone else besides those guys. They know exactly what they're doing. I was very fortunate. Price was very reasonable as well.

Lee was confident error code is correct, so had O2 sensor replaced for a fair price. During this process, he welded a part of the tail pipe that had come loose, for no charge, which eliminated the rattling. Highly recommend.

Excellent...Phone call a few hours before, then took me in at the end of his business day, 98 deg outside. Needed a custom made section of the rear exhaust on my "96 Mazda MPV Minivan. Great job, and at an excellent price!

I have an old (2000) Yukon XL. The exhaust was making a lot more noise than it should so I called A-1 after looking at Angie's List for providers in my locale. The owner told me to come in the next day at 11am. I showed up at 11am and within 10 minutes he had my truck up on a lift an was evaluating the problem. He came into the clean waiting area, told me I just had some loose bolts. He tightened them, brought the truck and told me to and quot;have a good day.and quot; I asked what I owed him and he just said again: and quot;Have a good day.and quot; He could have told me anything was wrong with truck and, frankly, I wouldn't have known the difference. Instead he was prompt, honest and didn't charge me a dime. I, personally, find that sort of integrity and customer service sorely lacking so I wouldn't hesitate to give that owner (Ennis) more business.

We thought we might have a muffler issue Lee checked the Muffler and it did not need replacing. We did have a brake issue and found out he services brakes so we had him service our brakes. We found him to be honest and only wanting to work on what needs service. We would highly recommend him to anyone needing a good honest mechanic.

They made it so easy. We dropped off the car in the morning and picked it up that evening. They kept my husband upto date regarding the job.

I went in due to exhaust smell when I had the back window open on my 1987 4Runner. I was planning on purchasing a catalytic converter since the original was either hollowed out by the previous owner or just disintegrated over time. Since the car had just passed DEQ w/o any issues, the purpose of the cat was for the smell more than anything.
When I got there, I was told that since the car passed with such low emissions that a cat wouldn't do anything for the smell I was
experiencing (even though he could have sold me one on the spot). He said the problem was that when the back window was down it was drawing in the exhaust. He checked that the tail pipe was sticking out far enough and he said it was (he did the original muffler/exhaust work for me). He said that he wasn't sure if it would work but that he proceeded to make the exhaust pipe curved downward. When done I asked him how much I owed him. He responded by saying to come back later and give him $20 if it fixed the problem. Since his shop is not convenient for me, I told him I would just give him the $20 and thanked him. I don't automatically have the smell with the back window open now but I do at times. Regardless, it is much better and he didn't sell me a cat that he felt wouldn't have done anything for the problem.

This was the first time that I used their service. The guy was very straightforward. He claimed that he under-quoted me but he still kept the original price that he had quoted. What he charged me was what he quoted, even though he said that he should have quoted me more. He was very quick in his service and it didn't take him much time at all.

Very well, the truck brakes fine now and i have the satisfaction of knowing I am safe on the road since the prior owners of my truck included no maintenance records in the sale.

I knew that I needed a new muffler but after Lee got the old muffler off he showed me that the catalytic converter was also in need of replacing and showed me why. He took time to explain how the old converter had broken apart and showed me the inside of mine versus and new one. He worked quickly and efficiently and didnt mind me asking him questions along the way. The process was very educational. And the price was reasonable. Great job, Lee.

For $180 the muffler was replace, several heat shields removed, and resonator pipe welded to new muffler outlet. Going with this option saved us perhaps $400 over what would have been unnecessary replacement of exhaust pipe, etc. Lee was able to do everything within about an hours time so he is a very quick worker. The downside is we had an appointment at 9AM but had to wait around an hour and a half as he had two other jobs to work on before our vehicle. Lee did apologize for the wait and thought we were scheduled for around 11/11:30AM.

And to the folks at A-1, I'm sorry it took so long to post this report, 'specially because I went out of my way to talk with you about the Angie's List thing.

I stopped to get an estimate and they asked if i could come back in 1 hour which i did. Identifited the problem and showed me where the problem was located. Gave me a price, and said they couldbegin the work immediately and finish within about 20 minutes. I agreed and in slighly less than 20 mintues the work was completed and i was on my way with a silent car/muffler once again. My questons were answered, everyone was considerate and very helpful. I have already recommended them to a friend.

I got an estimate on my muffler and 2 pipes to be replaced from $425 - $500. I called Lee for an estimate and it was only $180. He explained to me 2 options, one of which was much cheaper which we chose. I appreciated him telling me this option. He got me in the next day at the time I wanted. When I arrived he took care of the vehicle right away in and had the work done very quickly. Hands down Lee has the best service, the best quality and the best price around. It actually cost less than he quoted $160, because there was a pipe that didn't need to be replaced which the other place said I did. I appreciated his honesty. My husband needed a piece on his carpet cleaning machine welded and he was able to do that for him at a great price.
