My husband had to have major surgery because his bowels were twisted and obstructed. He waited in the emergency room for over 1 1/2 hours, and then when he got back in the exam room he was told he could die if he didn't have emergency surgery. After 7 days he was released but told to come back if he had any problems. He started having the problems that could be a sign of an obstruction again, but the emergency room refused to give him a CT scan and sent him home. He was violently vomiting and had other issues as well, but they once again said there was nothing wrong with him without doing anything but taking his blood pressure. They did no tests to see if he did have another obstruction. Even the upstairs nurses station said to go to the emergency room, but they again said there was no problem without examining him.
