It pains me to write this review, but I think it's important for potential customers to know what happed to me so that they can avoid this. I had a backup in my sewage line and it contaminated two bathrooms. One of the bathrooms was a 1/2 bath connected to a larger laundry room with uniform, layered tiling throughout the entire space. ServPlus came to clean up, sanitize, and remove contaminated material. They removed all the tile flooring in the 1/2 bath by basically just cutting the layers of tile out - leaving the remaining tile layers exposed in the laundry room portion (about 2/3rds of the space). Prior to doing so, it's critical to do an asbestos test - this is pretty basic stuff, esp with the age of the home and the layered older tiles. I thought this was a professional & knowledgeable company and didn't even think to question that they had done this testing. This has been an extremely long process, and I finally just got to the point where a reconstruction company was ready to order replacement materials and reconstruct the bathrooms. They asked for the asbestos results of this space and I come to find out that ServPlus never did ANY testing. Not only that, but when I finally did test for asbestos, I come find out that there was 30% asbestos in the tiles. I'm extremely frustrated and disappointed on many accounts. First - I've been doing laundry in that room for months - where it's moist and dry and I've been breathing in this potentially toxic material since it is completely exposed. Second, now this has further delayed the reconstruction company because now I have to get yet another company in to remediate the asbestos. Third and pretty concerning - when I called ServPlus to ask about the testing I received no apology - they just calmly stated that the guys never bothered to test for asbestos.

When I called my plumbing company they informed me that since there was standing waste water I would need a remediation contractor to clean it up before the plumber would fix the leak- they recommended ServePlus. It was easy to make the appt. The ServPlus estimator arrived on time and maintained a clean path to the access hatch to my crawl space. We both went into the crawlspace. The estimator found the leak along the bottom of the galvanized waste pipe and evaluated the area that would need to be cleaned up of waste water. Noted that that drain pipe had no/insufficient slope to the larger cast iron drain pipe so has been sitting like that since it was built in 1996. While in the crawl space he checked the pipes on the other side which seem sound, and showed me the slope of that pipe. Received estimate within 30 minutes, detailing what would be done, and scheduled work to begin the following Monday. On Monday the 2 techs showed up on time and again maintained a clean path over the carpet to the crawlspace hatch. They cheerfully went to work in very tight quarters. They sucked out the water, dug the contaminated mud, and removed some wet insulation. Then they applied enzymes to the area. Next day, after the enzymes had a chance to work, and then settle down there was no more waste smell. I did a temp patch to the pipe till the plumber was available. After the plumber replaced the leaking drain lines (ServPlus does not do plumbing) ServPlus returned and relaid the vapor barrier, and replaced the screen in my vent. I felt ServPlus maintained good communication, behaved professionally, did an excellent job, had good follow up. I would not hesitate to recommend them to friends/family.

Excellent. Crew of two, polite, professional guys inspected inside and beneath the house in a tiny crawlspace. They were thorough and professional. I received a call the day of service and also when the crew was on the way. They wore booties indoors and were good with my dogs - bonus! Excellent service and if I could give an A++++++, I would!

ServPlus provided good and professional service. I found my 20 year old water heater leaking and immediately knew it had to be replaced. I didn't know that the water heater had been leaking for some time and had started causing mold to form. Fast Water Heater referred ServPlus to come out and care for the mold. ServPlus was able to respond within the hour and complete remediation. It took a couple of days for the area to dry appropriately; therefore, drywall and the water heater install had to wait until the weekend.
The only very small miscommunication was when ServPlus was called out to do the job, I was unaware that they could not do drywall as well. That piece was not communicated until they started the work. The water heater installer was also unaware that they didn't do drywall because ServPlus usually used/refered a subcontractor that could do the work. However, this time, that subcontractor was both unavailable and did not receive favorable reviews on Angie's list (my research). Again, this was a small issue and overall I felt ServPlus was an excellent choice that I would use again.
They gave me an Angie's list discount even though I was referred by another company and did not have the chance to find them on my own the Angie way. Thank you Emily, Kelly, and Keith!

When you find water under your house you panic. Our crawl space is about 4 feet deep and a 1600 sq foot home. My guess is there was about 3 feet of water under our home. We called several companies that couldn't come for several days or for over a week. We finally called this company, I think they came out that night. Young men showed up to take a look at the situation, evaluated and went to work extracting the water. They also let us know what it would take to get the crawl space dried out, a new vapor seal and then something to prevent the mold from forming. The price was ok, but the work needed to be done. Over the next few weeks the company came back and checked under the house and check the beams to see if they were drying out properly, kept us informed on how everything was going. They even let us know about another leak they spotted.
The only very minor bump we had was when it came time to pay. We asked if we could make 3 payments, one of the workers said that would be a problem, so we gave them a pymnt then, when the job was complete they wanted the remaining balance. we had to call the office and talk to them about what the young man said. We heard the owner in the back ground saying he would honor that and asked if we would give them a review. In all great experience, my hope is to never have to use there services again, BUT if we are faced with this problem again we will absolutely use them again.

They removed the old vapor barrier and drained the water. Set up humidifier in the room with the crawl space access and a fan to blow air out from the outside for 5 days. They were on time at each visit with notification phone calls each time.

I discovered that an area of carpet in the corner of a bedroom was wet and moldy. Investigating further, I found that a pipe had leaked inside the wall between that bedroom and an adjacent bedroom. Bedroom 2 had wet and moldy carpet inside the closet. I was able to turn off the water to prevent further damage.
I called ServPlus the next day and asked them to come out and remediate the water and mold. They were very pleasant and told me they were sending out a tech with experience to assess the situation. The tech arrived in a timely fashion. He and his partner assessed the rooms and told me that they would have to remove everything that was wet, then they would dry out the space with dehumidifiers. He also checked my crawl space, since the hatch to the space was in the wet closet. After assessing the crawlspace, he told me that it had thick mold and was throughout the crawl space. He measured the crawl space. After calling in to the office (I think), he came and told me that the estimate for doing the crawl space based on the square footage (1600) would be $15,000, but they would do the bedrooms for free. I was totally shocked by the price and felt like I had been kicked in the stomach. I told them to wait on the crawl space but go ahead and do the bedrooms. He said OK.
They cut out the wet carpet, pad, underlayment and drywall in the 2 affected rooms (approximately 40 sq.ft. of drywall and 34 sq.ft. of flooring). The area was tented in plastic and a large dehumidifier was placed in each room. They added an airscrubber with HEPA filter vented to the outside on the next day. A tech came back every 2 days to check if the area was dry. They usually came in the appointed time except once. No one showed up so I called the office. They said they would send someone out shortly. The office called back later and said that someone had already been out earlier. I told them that I had been home the whole time and no one had come.
I called the office and asked for separate estimates for the bedrooms and the crawl space. She told me to get that info from the tech. I asked the tech, he told me to call the office. I asked 4 or 5 times and never got an answer. It took just over a week to dry out the area. They finally came and removed all their equipment. No mention of a bill or an estimate for the crawl space.
I called two other mold remediation companies (both from Angies List) and had them come out and give me an estimate for the crawl space. One company looked at the crawl space and asked why he was there? All he saw was some thick mold on one 2x4 just under the leak and sporadic occurance of lumberyard mold which he said was not causing any problems. He did give me an estimate to remediate the mold in the crawl space if I was bothered by the mold. His estimate was $4500. The second company was also puzzled as to why I had called him. His findings were the same as the first. He said that if it were his house, he'd remove the moldy 2x4 (5 ft long) and call it good. So that's what I did.
I was finally able to get an invoice from ServPlus for the work that had already been done. They never did give me an estimate for the crawl space alone. I called and paid my bill over the phone and asked who I could file a complaint with. She said that she was a manager and could take the complaint. I told her all that is described here. She had the boss call me to work things out. He asked what it would take for him to make me happy. I told him that I didn't want anything except for them to do due diligence in inspecting and giving estimates. He told me that the tech had erred on the side of safety, just in case all the mold had to be removed (there is no such thing as safe mold). When the techs got into the crawl space and could check it out further, they would give me a more accurate estimate. He apologized for the "misunderstanding" and asked if he could do something for me, like buy me dinner. I said no thanks.

I have really mixed feelings about this contractor. They came out right away and worked until 10PM to start the remediation process on the day the issue was identified. I really appreciated their timeliness on this work. At that point the lead told me that in addition to the urgent issue of water caused by the leak, we had mold issues under our house. They gave me a quote of $12,113 for all of the work they recommended. I asked them to give me one quote for the urgent work and one for the other remediation. They sent me an email with the two quotes. One for $2,579 for the urgent work -- I approved this work. The other for $9,535 was not approved.
The people on the job were polite and professional in their dealings with me. However, I was disappointed in my dealings with their office. Two times I was promised that they would come out that day and both times they did not come. The first time I called 2 hours after the end of the range of projected arrivals. I made it clear that I was disappointed they didn't let me know they wouldn't be coming. The next time they were supposed to be at our house after 2:00 p.m.. At 8:45 a.m. I heard from the office that they would not be coming that day but was promised that they would be there first thing the next morning. The next morning I called them at 10:45AM - they eventually showed up midday. I understand the nature of their work involves emergencies and sometimes jobs take longer than expected. However, if they weren't going to make the scheduled time, they should have called to let me know the status. For this reason, in spite of appreciating the professionalism of the on-site staff, I felt the office should have improved their communications.
In addition, I found out from our insurance adjuster, that the office staff had contacted her directly, without my knowledge or approval, to try to get the insurance company to approve the services. This was, in my opinion, completely inappropriate.
I did not think the price of the work done was necessarily too high. But the quote for secondary work ($9,535) was. I got two other quotes for the work. The other quotes were lower because they did not think the work required was intensive as what ServPlus recommended. The next highest quote was $5,561. The other said no work was needed at all. The mold was mill mold and was not active.
I did not rate quality because I do not feel qualified to do so. I assume it was fine.
Were it not for the initial speedy response and the professionalism of the on-site staff, especially the lead that picked up the work after the first day, I would have given them F's across the board.

I contacted ServPlus at 11:30 on Easter Sunday due to water that had saturated wall to wall capering in a finished basement room. Within an hour a technician arrived, assessed the damage and provided a quote. He started work immediately. Furniture was moved with great care, rug pad was removed as well as damaged/wet drywall. Fans and dehumidifiers were set up. The technician explained the entire process and was very careful and considerate. The company provided excellent service and follow up with daily visits to assess dryness. Each person that came was knowledgeable and professional. I was very impressed with their responsiveness, good customer communication, good communication between workers, and professionalism.

We had a hidden leak from the dishwasher drain hose which damaged the hardwood floor in our kitchen. We hired Servplus because they were professional and responsive from our very first call.
They removed the damaged hardwood, cleaned up the mess, put in a hepa air filter and two dryers. When it took a little longer than expected to dry, they added another dryer, covered the affected area so the dryers will be more efficient.
We are very happy with their service and would certainly refer them to anyone.

There is nothing worse than discovering a spot of water damage on the ceiling, especially when you know that right above it is a bath tub.
A quick call to ServPlus and they were on the job. The actual job itself was pretty small so I'm going to gloss over the fine work and give my impression of the company.
The two workmen who showed up were wearing uniforms and wore covers on their shoes. They looked and acted professional. Huge plus.
Fantastic communication and followup. In a world where it's sometimes difficult to get a call returned, I was really impressed with the proactive communication. I revived calls asking how it was going, calls letting me know a technician would be out to look at the drying process. More follow up calls. It was really impressive.
I hope to never need their services, but should I, you can be sure I'll call them first.

It went fine. They came in, did the job and didn't waste time. They were very professional and took care to make sure that our carpet was covered with plastic and that the extensions cords were taped down to make sure we didn't trip on them.

My plumber recommended ServPlus to take care of the mold that resulted from water leak. They arrived promptly and set up
equipment and removed the molded drywall and carpet. Checked every day to see how things were progressing.
They were helpful in explaining what they were doing and how things were progressing. I was pleased with my dealings with
the company and their workers. I would recommend them to other people who have similar issues in their homes.

This company was recommended to us by our plumber. The repairs necessary to the pipes couldn't be completed until the mess under the house was cleaned up. Servplus was out within 2 hours of the initial call and had the area squared away enough for the plumbers to start work the next day. Their crews were always punctual and professional. The drying process took several days and they were out everyday to check on the process and equipment. The office staff was helpful in working with our insurance company.

Over all, it went well. Please note: Different companies dealing with mold provide different services. I highly recommend thoroughly discussing before hiring any company exactly what and where they will work. There needs to be clarification about how much they will restore the premises to the pre-work condition. I had to hire others to restore the rental house, and that is costing me at least $1200 more, partly due to the fact that under-the-kitchen-sink cabinets had to be replaced. Rhetrofitting cabinets around pipes and a garbage disposer can be a challenge, even to experienced builders! Input: Communication is imperative!

This was an emergency for us. My sewer line was plugged and nasty stuff overflowed all under my house. I called ServPlus at the recommendation of another customer. ServPlus responded immediately. They had technicians at my house within 2 hours. The team was very courteous and professional. They started very quickly and completed the work within a day. They left machines to clean the odor and to sterilize the air and ground. They checked the machines for 3 days. The company contacted me every day to see how things were going and to schedule appointments for the machine checks. The owner/manager was very accommodating with regard to arranging a payment schedule. Overall my experience with ServPlus was excellent. I recommend them very highly.

They were very prompt, always early or on time; they were responsive and followed up; we knew exactly what to expect; they completely removed the odor and were very thorough in cleaning any damage related to the animals including sealing the crawlspace to prevent further damage/odor. All of their staff were very respectful of our home and were courteous to us.

Fans and plastic coverings were installed to dry out the floors, rugs, and sub-flooring (fans were in crawl area). Everything dried out in about a week. They came every day to check the fans, redo the plastic and taping, and to check the crawl area. The office also called before each visit. They removed area rugs and pads as they dried, then reinstalled them afterwards. They also moved back the refrigerator. They provided recommendations on companies to install insulation in the crawl area and repair baseboards damaged. Service personnel were courteous and professional. They did an excellent job.
