Rand Blackman Construction

From the beginning it was difficult to communicate with Rand.  He failed to show up initially at the date/time promised.  When he finally did make the appointment, the work done was great, however, he did not clean/wash the gutter ask I asked.  It took several weeks for him to come back and complete the gutter.  The entire process started in August and he did not complete everything until September.  It was a very small job, only a few hours.  Difficult to reach him, often he would not return a call or text for several days.  In the end, when I asked for an invoice, that took at least another few weeks.  When I did finally get something via email, it was not even a professional invoice, just something in an email.  Though the price was very fair and I was happy to him promptly, his billing lacked timeliness and professionalism.   I would not hire him again, simply because he is very difficult to reach via phone or text and did not show up when expected.  I had to make several attempts to reach him.

Rand was easy to work with and a great job.  We needed many cedar shakes/shingles replaced prior painting our house.  Rand also replaced the wood frames/sills around two windows, treated the underneath wood and added vapor barriers.  He worked alone so it took a couple extra days than expected but it was not a big deal to us.  Very solid work!

Rand was great. Detail oriented. Problem solver. I needed someone on really short notice and I called him in the morning; he did the work that afternoon. Couldn't be happier. He's coming out next week to put stuff back!

The work was excellent!

He's a very straightforward guy. He has a lot of energy, very positive and very straightforward on how he's going to do the job. He showed up on time and brought his helper with him. He came and looked at his job first and by the time he came in and out, he was gone in a couple of hours. He knew his craft and got it done. He was actually referred by the painter. He's a friend of the painter and he uses him regularly to do these kinds of things but I'll definitely use him again on my own.

It went very well.

I've had Rand do work for us before, and he's been great, that's why I used him again. He has our vote! We recommend him.
He cares about quality, and it shows.

The work took place fast once he started on it. It looks great! He also did some interior painting for as well. Overall we'd give him an A and recommend him.

The word was performed as agreed...satisfactorly.

Rand asked me about the extent of repairs I was willing to do, and we agreed. He put flashing above the windows that was never there before, and replaced shakes and rotted wood trim. He had to leave to get supplies that were not determined until wood was removed to expose the problems fully. Rand and his helper only took time to eat, otherwise they were focused on their work. They cleaned up fully after the jobs were done.
