This is the second job I have had done by Portland Plumbing and I will use them again without hesitation.



Dan is very professional and friendly. We remodeled a kitchen with new countertops and a double basin under-mount sink.



Dan came out to install the sink. As usual he was right on time and had all the necessary tools and parts to perform the job.



During the installation he found some additional problems with some very old plumbing. His explanations and problem solving were very helpful. He fixed everything and the price was very (very) competitive.

We had a water pipe break on Saturday afternoon.  Scotty came to look at it and determined that the break was in a pipe in a wall.  Because we had a dinner party scheduled for that evening, Scotty agreed to postpone the work until Sunday morning.  He arrived promptly at 8:30am and did a neat job of cutting the drywall.  Because of the location of the break, he had to crawl the length of the house in the very cramped crawl space 3 or 4 times to get to it.  He stuck with it and got the whole thing fixed in less than two hours. Great service and a fair price for what he had to go through to get it done.  I was very pleased.

He showed up when he said he would.  It was quality work at a fair price.  They are very punctual.

The worker who came to install our water heater was competent and
professional, but it really is a two man job. My partner had to assist
him for the entire four hours. The estimate was for $800 but the bill
was much higher, which I took question with since nothing about the job
was unexpected, no extras were sprung upon them at the last minute, etc.
We were very clear on our needs up front. I questioned the billed
amount and he sent me another invoice for the exact same amount. When I
told him I would not pay that since they did not need to add extra labor
or parts, he came down on the price a little after about a two week
wait for a response. So far we are happy with the water heater, but I
would never use them again.

After speaking to Mr White we set up a meeting time.
At the initial meeting with Mr White showed up on time and we went over what needed to be done.   The next day Mr White and his associate showed up earlier than projected and commenced to do the planned work.
As the work progressed he found several things wrong that the first plumber had done improperly or poorly.  We went over these things as he found them and he suggested corrections or amendments to make things more aesthetic or functional.   He suggested additional things that the first plumber had neglected or ignored.
This experience was totally different from my prior experience.
1.   He showed up when he said he would.
2.   He communicated with me at every stage of the work.
3.   He answered my questions.
4.    If there was a problem I knew about it almost immediately.
5.    He is friendly and knowledgeable and shares that knowledge.
6.   He gave me options and let me know the cost of the options.
7.   When we decided what to do he did them in a timely fashion.
Most of the work was done the first day after which we talked about what was needed to complete the job.  After a break of a couple days for me to arrange timing with the electrician he returned to finish the job.
What a relief to have someone who was honest and communicative.

Came out a bit early, did the work at a fair price and I am happy and plan on scheduling him to come back out to reset toilet.

I spoke with Dan and he made an appointment for the very next day to come out and fix it. After seeing him work on it, it appeared a pretty easy thing to fix. The fact that he made a Saturday house call for a very easy fix was impressive. He asked about any other plumbing issues in the house and made sure some other things were working properly. He even got out the manual for the hardware and walked us through the solution. Overall, one of the best service calls I have ever had. Very professional and very good explanations of the issues and solutions. Highly recommended!

Dan and Joe are experts in their field.  This was a very big project, complicated by the hydronic heating system.  A few concerns arose during the project.  Joe raised them with me, fully explained the issues, and advised me on the best solutions.  For instance, the gas company wanted to supply a higher pressure to ensure my appliances were supplied properly, and we needed to add 3 gas pressure regulators to accommodate this change.

My general contractor has worked with Dan before, and he managed Dan for the most part.  I had to step in at the end to resolve some communication issues between them about when the work would be finished.  It wasn't really a big deal, but caused some delays and misunderstandings when I was trying to get the new house finished up.  Dan is very relaxed and open to constructive feedback.  Joe is a technical expert and was very good about explaining my new plumbing systems to me.

He show up gave me some options for what type of pipe would be the best and had the longest life. He had the job done in about an hour. Everything was cleaned up and all the plumbing works. He is fabulous!

They were outstanding! I would highly recommend them!

(Note that this was on a Saturday) I called their main number at 10:30a, got the owner Dan who indicated that he was out on his anniversary (?!) but he would pass my call on to his associate Neil. Neil called me back at 10:41a and let me know he was on another job in a town about 45 minutes away and that he would call me back again to let me know when he was leaving that job to head here. He called again at 10:57a to let me know he was on his way and to verify the diameter of my sewer pipe. He arrived at my house within a hour, looked at the job for a few moments and said it would be a piece of cake and got to work. I'd say he was done in about a half hour. I don't have any experience with plumbing so I can't speak to the particulars of what he did, but he seemed to be fast and thorough, measured multiple times before cutting, etc. He also gave me advice on how to refill the hole to ensure that the pipe was supported properly. Both Dan and Neil had a friendly and professional manner to them. Between placing my initial call and beginning to write this review was less than two hours. The labor+parts charge was less than the first hour labor charge of another big name chain plumbing company who couldn't send anyone out on a Saturday.

Dan White did the work. He was very professional.

Dan was very accommodating and timely. Work was of a high standard.

The plumber was very professional and thorough. I have recommended this company to many people.
