The paint job was expensive, but very good. My issue was with Paul Kyllo's professionalism. While I was in the house, and we were separated by only plastic, Paul had a long conversation with his assistant in which he explained that homosexuality was a sin and went into detail about other sins (apparently there are a lot - abortion, masterbation, etc.) When I told him these views were not part our belief system, he said, "Oh, so you were listening into my private conversation?!" Given that this all took place in my own home, the entire episode was ridiculous and offensive. I would not recommend anyone in the LGBTQ community or their allies hire him. I found the experience very disturbing and am happy my children were not home to hear it.

"Thank you for the complimentary assessment of my work. I do the best work possible under any circumstances I find myself in."

Paul and his team are the best! They are professional, clean and efficient. The painting is beautiful. Would definitely hire again, in fact working with him on additional indoor projects for fall!

Very happy with my exterior house paint, it looks great, high quality! These people love their job. They got me on the schedule and followed through. Good customer service, professional work.

Had to call to get them to complete the job as promised. Initial work done decently. Did not complete the job as promised until called and forced the issue. When Kyllo sent his man back to complete the two window trims in the back yard (bathroom and kitchen), the job was done poorly and sloppily. Then window trim on the east side was not properly sanded and primed and is now bubbling and blistering. Same with the front bedroom window. He was very defensive when called him to get him to honor the entire quote as written and we essentially had to force the issue. He did not come back to check the job nor call. We presume because we forced the window issues and made him honor the contract. His men did do a good job on the rest of the painting. What was most disappointing was his initial demeanor was very good but his ending one not good.
Response from Paul Kyllo Painting
"This is an unfortunate situation that I tried to resolve. I have no Ill will towards my customer....it was a case of misunderstanding and something I simply was unable to work through with them."

Paul was great! On time, very professional, good quote on doing the work. We bought the paint and he made suggestions to make the purchase and painting more efficient. He did a great job and was done in two days. He started when he said he would and was neat and tidy in doing the work. Both my husband and I were so happy we hired him. We got three bids and he was almost three times cheaper then PDX Rose City Painting ( which was laughable)...plus had no problem helping move things around. It pays to research and get more then one bid. We will hire Paul again.

Paul was responsive, punctual and did a fair job with the quality of painting. But without communication chose the paint not specified in the contract and lost my trust. The job was at my vacation house at the coast. Paul was prompt in providing the quote. He even provided itemized quotes at a later time on my request to help me decide the job. Was very patient in waiting for me to decide on the quotes. From the day of providing quote to signing the contract I was very specific about the paint and make. It was for 2 coats of Benjamin Moore Ben paint. The contract was also written up and signed with this info. Since the job was at the coast I trusted him to perform the job with no oversight. On walk through after the job was complete he tells me that he decided on his own to paint match and use Behr instead, and claimed it was a better quality paint. What does a contract mean then! Seeing my disappointment he offered to give a discount which I was not interested. If it was not for this unprofessional behaviour I would have retained him for exterior painting and other upcoming jobs.
Response from Paul Kyllo Painting
"Ultimately I must accept responsibility for my customers dissatisfaction. I made what I thought was a good product choice for his project. My lack of communication was regrettable and I am sorry for my failure in following through with him. When I realized my error, yes I offered a discount. The job was complete and I was at a loss what else to do to try and mitigate his disappointment. My first priority is to satisfy my customer and provide quality work. In this case I came up a little short"

The two painters were timely but there was no overall supervision of them. In general, the work was well done and most wall repairs done correctly.

Paul was great! His prices were on the lower end of the quotes we sought, and the work was done impeccably and right on time! Our project included painting cabinets and lots of edging and strange angles, and it came out just right. Couldn't have asked for better, and will definitely call him again for future interior painting!

He did a great job edging, using unique color scheme selected and nice finishing work on the brick fire place we needed painted. A little expensive, but did a MUCH better job than we ever would have.

Very good. He wasn't the least expensive but not to most either; excellent value. Of the 3 or 4 estimates I got, he was the only one who suggested the exterior sheeting be pre-sanded prior to painting. His crew washed the exterior, sanded as necessary and removed loose paint, filled holes and caulked windows, applied one coat of bonding primer and two coats of primer paint, and cleaned up, leaving things better than before.

Great work. They weren't the lowest bid, but they explained what they would do and actually did the work very very well. I highly recommend them. Though others were going to be cheaper, sometimes you get what you pay for.

Great! Paul was professional and easy to work with. He provided a prompt, on-site estimate. He was able to fit our work into his schedule to accommodate our preferred completion date. I had three estimates done and Paul's was the most affordable, but he was also the most personable. I selected him based on his understanding of our project (asking good questions, making appropriate suggestions), responsiveness, and price. It took about 9 days to prep and paint all the interior walls and ceiling of our newly purchased, unoccupied home. What most impressed me was his detail when it came to caulking around trim and joint gaps. We even asked for him to paint a couple other rooms in our soon-to-be rental, which he fit into his schedule and completed in about a day and half. We are still thrilled with the results, even when there was a little bit of touch up needed, Paul came back to fix himself. We would definitely hire again.

I engaged Paul Kyllo Painting for a small job last year. When I was getting bids to do the interior of the house, I remembered the willingness to do a small job and the excellent quality of the work. The larger project was a success. Paul and his team have the qualities of artists. They made sure I was happy with the job and responded to small issues that were quickly fixed to my satisfaction.

It went very well. Paul and his crew were there on time each day, it only took three days total, and he did an extremely thorough job. They were careful with our things, mindful of our cats and made sure we knew exactly what was going on at each stage.

Paul did a fantastic job. I was little worried about their level detail... like they we're really doing it properly and I thought they wouldn't finish in time, but in the end they made the deadline and even had extra time remaining to add another room!

Paul is super professional and his team did a great job. His pricing is higher than others, but he really knows and cares about paint and technique. The work was expertly done.

There were some minor repairs that needed to be done. He took down some lights that he delayed a long time in putting back up. He said it was my fault because I needed to do this and that, but if he would've just put them back up in time that would have been better.

He did do a thorough job. The job was done well and on time.
Response from Paul Kyllo Painting
"Regretfully [Member Name Removed] is correct that her lights took longer to re-install than they should have. I would say though that due to the age and condition of the fixture that installation was unusually awkward and did not state that it was her "fault" lol. I simply exspained the reality of the situation. Pleasurable customer."

I had a tenant move out in the middle of the night and needed the large house painted right away. In the height of summer outdoor painting season, it was difficult to fine anyone willing to do the work. Paul went out right away to look at the house. He contacted me back right away and thoroughly explained my options and made recommendations. I believe the cost was reasonable given the condition of the interior. Paul changed his schedule around and went out of the way to try and get the work done as quickly as possible so I could re-rent the home. They even worked 4th of July weekend. The work was done sooner than promised. The quality of the work was excellent. I highly recommend Paul Kyllow painting.

It went well when it was started. Had to push back start time a couple of times.

I had reviewed Paul earlier with an F due to being unable to contact him.

That was taken care of.

Excellent service. Very busy time for painter but Paul worked really hard to move project along and complete in timely manner. Was respectful of property and instructed crew to keep material and tools organized to insure as much liveability as possible while project being completed. Crew arrived on time 8a and went right to work. No long lunch hours, extended personal cell phone calls or loud music playing. Several workers over course of home improvement projects used ear phones while they worked. Paul completed "cut work" himself which is excellent. Very pleased with finished product.. No more amateur paint jobs for me!
