They sent out a person who had no idea what he was doing, after a hour and a half looking around for a gfi and doing nothing I was told to keep looking and was charged 260+ dollars he did nothing but agree with what I told him I think it was a tripped plug .... He basically was being nosey looking places where I told him I already looked..... Still did nothing

Went well. Their electrician "Steve" arrived on time. We pulled out the old stove. He removed the plug that was there to feed the electric stove, changed the wiring setup and installed a plug suitable for the gas stove's electrical portion. He replaced the old breaker with one suited to the task. Steve was very friendly, the kind of guy you would want as a neighbor.

Technician was on time, worked quickly, and answered all questions. The only thing that I was unsatisfied with is that I think I either misunderstood or was mislead on the pricing. I was told that the "service call rate is $135.00 flat fee which covers travel to your home and 30 minutes worth of work." However, when it came time to pay, my technician counted the 30 minutes it took for her to drive to my house and cited this information but in a different way. I could've have pursued it further, but felt like the services performed were worth the cost. Later on when one of our 3-way light switches wasn't working correctly, we called them up, and they were able to come back out the next day to resolve the issue.

That was the first people that I called and looking at the job and the pricing they gave us. Great people to work with. They put in the breaker between the hot tub and the circuit box. I took 4 hours. One person came out.

Very well. The first install did not pass City of Portland inspection. Parkin quickly fixed the problem and it passed.

Excellent. The electrician arrived on time (I'm out in the country and am used to people underestimating drive time) and was efficient in her working. The new fuses are not as tall as the slots in my circuit board, so she took an extra fuse and installed it, unattached to power, to fill the gap (no charge for that fuse). The only error was that she forgot to show me the locations of actual installed circuits, so I had to do a little trial and error to find out which new fuse controlled what, easily done in a couple of minutes. Additional Comment (there should be a box for this): I first got an estimate from Clackamas Electric which was more than twice the estimate from Parkin! It was clear that the electrician Clackamas Electric sent me did not have my best interest at heart. For examples, he did not address which bathroom would be broken off that circuit to create the new one. One bathroom is about 10 feet away from the circuit board, while the other is at the far end of the house, up in the corner where under-house clearance is least. The Clackamas Electric guy said he would send me the specs of the spotlights he chose, then when he did not, denied saying he would. And never did either. But his was for a single bulb, while I specified I wanted to throw the light in two directions, with two bulbs. Parkin sent me a spec sheet with options...40 degree (floodlight) vs. 20 degree (spotlight) spread, and two color options, and power reported in watts (which we electrically uneducated can understand). The other had amps and volts which I had to google to find out how to convert to watts. I had the feeling that the Clackamas Electric guy took me as an easy mark.

They were able to fit me in the schedule with a couple of days.  The technician was personable and professional, communicated clearly, and was able to fix the problems fairly quickly.  Excellent service.

Advised us that the malfunctioning beeper on our oven is a problem with the oven, not the wiring.

The workman arrived promptly and installed the outside lights and plugs. The ceiling fan was installed okay. Then he handed me the remote for the ceiling fan and said that I should hang it somewhere. His body language was as if everything was too hard , never smiled and I wondered if he had a hangover. The strip plug in the kitchen was installed with a noticeable slope down. There is a 3/4and quot; drop from right to left over 3 feet. Also there is a 5and quot; hole in the wall which he refused to fix He said I would have to call a carpenter for $97/ hr to fix it. He said he needed a board to attach the bathroom pull chain light to. So I provided one the next day he came out. I had it cut to size at Home Depot - but he cut it again and installed it with a gap (which he had cut) of 2' between the board and the tile. when I called this to his attention - he said again that he was not a carpenter!
I could not wait for him to leave. I am 73 yrs old and I had to get another board and cut it to fit and paint it to camouflage his shoddy work. He charged me 1337$. I gave him a 1000.00$ check and told him I would talk to and quot;Amandaand quot; in the office about the rest. A few days later The original estimator came out to inspect the work. He said he was and quot;Quality Controland quot;. He agreed with me that most of the work was ugly and below their standard. He said that he himself would come on saturday to fix the hole in the laundry room wall. They sent me a bill for 1200.00$ (of which I had already paid 1000.00$) The Estimator never came to fix the hole, which I fixed myself yesterday because I got tired of waiting. The man never did hardwire the dishwasher.
I think I overpaid him for such shoddy work. Virginia Grace

I was very impressed with Parkin. We had our septic tank replaced in late July and our septic contractor required an electrician to complete the hookup of the pump and alarm. We called Parkin at the last minute, but they were able to provide an estimate the same day. The estimate was very fair (right in line with two other estimates we received), but it was more than we could afford so we asked if we could perform part of the work ourselves (simply running the plastic conduit) to save them a trip and reduce the bill - they agreed and we pulled the electrical permit ourselves and paid the permitting fees. We laid the conduit and had our septic contractor backfill after the electrical inspector signed off on the conduit depth.
Parkin came out the following week to fish the wire, install the circuit and complete the work - they were on time to the minute, very professional (we trusted the electrician to lock up the house after he was done), performed the job flawlessly, and when we received the bill it was a bit less than they quoted us because they billed us according to the time it took to complete the job and they finished ahead of schedule. This was the first time I've ever dealt with any contractor and been suprised by a LOWER bill. I would absolutely hire Parkin again; top-notch work and honest billing - overall a great company to do business with.

Tony from Parkin Electric did a great job. He was able to come on short notice. Even though we had another contractor working in the kitchen at the same time, Tony was able to tackle our complex wiring problem. He was punctual, professional, and very polite. Parkin Electric had done work for us in the past on a rental unit we own, so we knew to call them again for this project.

Dave Parkin responded immediately to our phone call and came out to do an estimate. The two technicians, Mike and Jeff, were here on four different occasions. They were prompt and courteous. They endured a couple of changes we made along the way and always cleaned up after themselves. We would highly recommend Parkin Electric...their price was competitive, their work outstanding, and they were wonderful to work with.
