Absolutely avoid Outdoor Equity Construction and its owner, Vaughn. He makes promise after promise and never delivers. After taking a sizable deposit for our patio cover, I had to constantly chase him for months just to get updates. What was promised to take 60?90 days ended up dragging on for nearly 9 months. When the work was finally completed, it was done incorrectly ? and now Vaughn refuses to return calls or messages. Completely unprofessional and unreliable. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH VAUGHN OR OUTDOOR EQUITY CONSTRUCTION.

My experience sounds exactly the same as the previous review. Paid $5800 for parts at the end of July and it is now the second week in February. If you can even get a hold of him or anyone at the office, it's just excuses and like the previous person said, the business is now sold and I'm fully expecting to be out $5800. Worst contractor experience ever and I'd bet there are a lot of people that have been screwed out of their down payment.

Paid $5800 deposit in July. Excuse after excuse as to the delay of my Patio Cover. Six months later, I don’t have it and they are now out of business and I am out $5800.

I recently hired Outdoor Equity to lay down concrete for my driveway, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. Took a couple of phone calls to get Vaughn to show up for the estimate. He was pleasant and his price was a couple hundred dollars lower than the previous estimate and we went with his company. He said that normally he receives the materials within two months and, on very rare occasions, it might take 3 months for the materials to arrive. Once the materials arrive, he can usually install within a week or two (according to him). The first red flag was how difficult it was to receive a response from Vaughn when I would text him or send a message through their site. No biggy-just annoying. Since I paid $5800 down, I felt I had the right and the responsibility to check on the status. After two months I contacted him--but he said the material had not arrived. At two and 1/2 months I made a few calls to the a supplier of identical panels, beams and posts in Arlington, WA (which is where Vaughn said his materials come from). I don't know for certain it was the same company but I think it is a distinct possibility. They said their turnaround was two weeks if I ordered directly from them. I had placed my down payment on 4/1/24 and on 7/1/24 I called Vaughn who said the shipment would arrive on July 10th and that he would contact me when it arrived. He did not, so I reached out to him and he verified that the material did arrive and he hoped to have my job completed by the end of July. Then he said if it's not completed the end of July then the first or second week of August. He did say he was having difficulty with his supplier and he was also in an accident that set him back. His crew did arrive on August 10th (a Saturday) and did a decent job. It is very important to me that I can receive quick responses when I have paid a healthy deposit on a project and that was not usually the case with Outdoor Equity. I would not use them again due to the extended time to complete the job and the difficulty in communications.

Got a quote for a patio cover for my house and got other quotes for same materials and outdoor equity had best price and great experience working with them and having my patio cover to be outside year round.

Outdoor Equity was hands down the best contractor/company I have worked with. From the initial meeting to the delivery and construction process, Vaughn and Claire were professional and communicative at every turn. They showed up when the said they were going to, built exactly what was promised, and they did it on time. The patio cover they installed helped transform our tiny backyard from something to avoid into something worth using. Thank you again!

From the very first interaction to the completion of the project, these guys (and gal) were great to work with! They showed up when they were going to show up, did the work when they said and for the price they quoted!!! I now am able to have a larger and safer outdoor teaching area for my preschool and the tiny humans love it!!!! I will definitely hire them again for future projects.

I was very happy with the work completed and the price. Vaughn the owner was present when the materials were delivered and the when the installation was completed. I would recommend this company if you are looking for a great price and an excellent finished product. Vaughn is also an avid horse enthusiast.

Vaughn was amazing to work with. He was flexible, easy to contact, and understanding with multiple questions and giving recommendations. We came into the project of a patio cover not knowing what direction we would go and Vaughn/Outdoor Equity made a very rough idea of ours a reality. My wife and I cannot recommend Outdoor Equity enough if you are looking to build a patio cover.

Were very responsive to questions & changes we made to the style of the roof. Project was completed in about 2 days once product was received.
