We were looking for a car for our daughter to take to college, and heard about Mountain Tech from a friend. The experience was outstanding, in terms of the quality product and the follow-up small things we had questions about or needed looked at again after we had purchased the car. They offer older generation Subarus that they have fixed up into running condition for the long-term. This company feels like it knows why it is in business -- to serve people who like these older models. My daughter loves the car, in part because she knows this company did the upgrade work (engine rebuild, installing a young transmission, and more) to turn it into a good purchase. The car drives really well, and she feels confident as a driver. We had to act fast, as several other families with young drivers were calling about it when we first went there to look at it. Thank you, Mountain Tech!

They have done everything they said they would.  When we are short of money they explain cost, options, what is critical and what is not.  They are either on time with there time estimates or often early.  The place isn't pretty and there is no nice waiting room but it is worth it for the work they do.

Mountain Tech is a good all-around Subaru shop in Oregon City.
They maintained my 1996 Outback from almost when it was brand new, for many years, with no complaints.
They did both major and minor work.
When it came time to buy a new Subaru in 2012, they even bought my old one at a good price.
I will use them again when the time comes.

Vehicle Purchases: They stand behind their sales agreement. Their prices are the best and their quality is high. I recently purchased a 1996 Subaru Impreza, that they had recently overhauled. It cost me $4,200. Repairs: The repair crew is young and very high quality. Matt Petitmermet, the shop manager is the second generation in the business. The first used car I bought from them was a 1993 Subaru Loyale Wagon, I paid $7,000 for it. Shortly after I purchased it I smelled antifreeze. One of the heads was cracked. They replaced it for free. About a month later I noticed the smell again. They looked it over and couldn't find anything, but they encouraged me to keep in touch. The smell continued and they scheduled an appointment. By this time I'd put a thousand or so miles on the car. They found that the replaced head had cracked. We split the cost of replacing the cracked head. I paid $150.00. I finally sold that car in the spring of 2013 after it had well over a quarter million miles on it. Matt and his father are the only honest car sales people that I've ever known. And repair quality is excellent. I will continue to use them as long as they are in business.

Although I never ended up getting all of the work done with Mountain Tech, I wish I could have, I just didn't have the funds to have everything serviced by them. The first time I called was for a question about a part, the service technician stayed on the phone with me while I tried to explain what it was over over 15 minutes, poor guy. He then suggested that I bring my car in so that they could take a look at it. He explained up front that they charge for the inspection but if you get the work done by them they include it in the cost - I appreciated this as it would not have been fun to find out upon arriving there. After they went through and gave me my inspection they were extremely respectful of my inability to come up with the funds to afford all of the work that had to be done and made me feel like a valued customer even though I never got any real work done.

Overall, the oil change was fine, the people were courteous, but brought up the subject about other dishonest repair shops.
