"Moral of the story is the homeowner failed to change their air filters since our installation of a new air conditioner in June of 2016 (two cooling seasons, one heating season) despite having an extra air-filter in the home. Feel free to read below for more details to their claims. There are several issues with this review that are not accurate and here are the facts of this issue. 1. The system was installed in June of 2016 as the customer states and ran flawless in the summer of 2016 and all thru the summer of 2017 which was one of the warmest on record. 2. The customer states we don't care about our customer's: * The customer called us at 1:08pm on 9/28 and we had a technician at their home by 3:30 the same day as a courtesy to call to figure out what is going on! * During the last phone conversation with Matt (there is no Mike they spoke to) he offered for us to come by again to make sure the drain was clear and the condensate pump was working properly since Brian did not have the proper tool with him during the initial trip. The customer declined because we were not going to buy them new carpet and threatened with an on-line review. * After this review was written the customer then changed their mind and asked if we would still come out and clear the drain, which we honored and did send a technician back out on 10/2 despite already being aware of this negative review. We do care. 3. We always recommend annual maintenance and especially me as a Service Manager in this industry for over 15 years. I see every day what happens when equipment is neglected. 4. It was never said to the customer that it was their fault that it clogged because they never cleaned the drain. The statement was it was not First Calls fault that the drain clogged. The drain clogged because something got into the drain and as unfortunate as it was it was not due to workmanship by our installers or the equipment not working properly which is why we felt we are not responsible for buying new carpet or drywall. 5. 10/2/2017 We did honor the 2nd follow up visit by a technician and here is what we found: * He cleared the condensate drain * Tested the condensate pump and it is working properly * Found that the air-filter was completely plugged which would result in debris getting into the air-stream and most likely causing the drain to plug. The dirty filter will also cause your system to work harder and could have most likely frozen the indoor coil which would have been the reason for the large amount of water on the floor. This was not an installation error or equipment failure. This was due to the customer not changing their filter and the system getting dirt/debris into the condensate drain. 6. The 2nd technician showed the homeowner how dirty the filter was and the homeowner had a filter on hand to replace it despite being a "new homeowner" knew to change their air filter. 7. Brian could have handled it better explaining to the homeowner about what was going on with the system and discussing why annual maintenance is important instead of pointing a finger right away. Brian has been coached for the future on how to deal with this and to make sure he has the proper tools for this type of issue. If you would like to discuss this further over the phone please do not hesitate to call me."
