Apple Dental

The cleaning went fine, no complaints. The problem is when I received the bill. It wasn't for teeth cleaning, but periodontal maintenance. I called Above Dental to point out the error, but they refuse to make the correction. My insurance will pay for teeth cleaning, but not periodontal maintenance which cost twice a much.

Dr. Bryce is great. He's a nice guy and is very helpful. It's easy to schedule appointments and the office staff is great.

We really love this doctor and his whole office and staff. He's great. His treatment is great. We just really like this office. He really knows what he's doing. It's generally painless. He's a really good dentist. He fixes the problems. The hygienist there is really good, for cleanings. It's a really state of the art office. They're really updated on everything.

I was told in August, 2013 that I had a broken molar and would need a crown. The price for one crown was $949.00, which I could not afford, and so I told Dr. Brice's office that I would be getting it done at another dentist who only charged me $710. In the meantime, I had a cleaning appointment for 2/5/14 at Apple Dental, and I intended to keep it, but had to cancel it, due to household expenses that had come up. When I called the office manager didn't ask me if I wanted to reschedule it. I then asked for another appointment at the end of February and the office manager, Jodie, stated that she was under the impression that I no longer wanted to be a patient at Apple. I said no, it was just for the crown that I had gone to another dental office. I said I would like an appointment for the end of February for a cleaning, and Jodie said I would need to have X-rays and an exam at the same time because it had been a year since my last one. She cited some mandated law that required this. I told her that that wasn't true because I had gone to a dentist in Bandon who didn't require an exam and x-rays before a cleaning. Jodie said "well, this is the way we do things here". I told her I could not afford to pay for both a cleaning and x-rays and exam in one visit, but would be happy to schedule two visits one month apart because I am retired and live on a small fixed income. Jodie refused. She said she thought it would be better if I found another dental office when I became upset. I asked her to leave a message for Dr. Brice to call me when he was free, and she asked why. I told her it was to discuss the x-rays and exam requirement with him, and she informed me that she was the office manager and I would have to deal with her.
I feel Apple Dental is too commercial and does not care about patients or working with senior citizens on small incomes so that they can at least maintain dental health by getting regular cleanings. If they had only been willing to work with me so that I could have stretched out the payments over two months, I could have afforded the exam and x-rays.
I would not recommend this dental practice to anyone that wants to be treated as an individual and just another body that walks through the door.

We had a wonderful experience with them. We did not wait long at all once we walked in the door. Very caring, professional, and you can get an appointment quickly.
