We use McDowell's for most of our auto work. Our most recent trip there was for routine oil and lube work, which they fit in for us on a busy day because we were overdue for servicing and had to leave on a trip. I called them the afternoon before and they made a slot for us in their schedule. McDowell's can be relied upon for all types of auto work. We have had them replace wheel bearings and brakes on our Subarus, rebuild most of an engine damaged by a timing belt that failed prematurely (and that was not installed by McDowell's initially), and perform all of the routine scheduled checks and maintenance on the cars. IMO, they are reliable, trustworthy, and reasonably priced. They do not spend any time trying to sell you things you don't need, based on my experience. I feel I can relax when I am relying on McDowell's to work on our cars.

Knowing rain was forecasted for the weekend, McDowells fit my car into their schedule, same day problem started. they fixed the problem for minimal expense. ...other mechanics would have charged $130, just for bringing it in.
