I was intending to repaint the interiors of my new (well, new to me) house myself before moving in, but work ate my time and I knew I wouldn't be able to finish it before Moving Day. After three turndowns from other painters (none on Angie's List), I called Blue Foot on a Saturday morning and left a message, not expecting to hear anything until Monday and half-expecting another turndown. (The weather's still nice and everyone's doing exterior painting while they can!)
.
I was pleasantly surprised to get a callback within a few hours, and even more so that they were at the house within an hour after to look over the job. (And a job it would be: old plastering painted in dark colors that would need two coats - if not three- to cover up, plus the fun of cutting-in to popcorn ceilings.) I already had the paint, and primer if needed.
.
Casey and Matt (two of the owners) looked everything over, asked good questions, took measurements and notes, and said they'd email or call me with an estimate. Matt called the next day with the estimate - which was well within (and somewhat under) my budget - and said they could start first thing the next morning. I couldn't be there due to work, but left a key under the mat and gave them the go-ahead.
.
I think the original estimate was based on half a day's work for two people: in the event, it was two and a half days for two people, and the price never went up. I managed to check in on the second day, and Casey offered to paint the door moldings in the bedrooms (which we hadn't originally discussed) into the bargain. I was floored.
.
The work was beautifully done, everyone was friendly and professional (Matt, Casey, Tatiana and Janice), and the work areas were clean and tidy each evening.
.
The downstairs still needs to be painted once I've moved in, unpacked and settled for a little while...and I KNOW who my first call will be to when I'm ready!
