Terry came out promptly to discuss the job and scope the work site and we began to work with the crew at Square Deal to identify new parts and fixtures. We made many contract changes and they were very patient in that process. When the work started we were very pleased that their crew was on time and kept to the schedule every day, Good communication and they are happy to use email or texting or a phone call to stay in touch. After finishing they came right out to fix a couple small issues. Upon paying the final bill I was told if anything comes up regarding their work to let them know.

It went really well, they were on schedule and on cost. There were no additional costs.

Not well. It went on for 3 months (began last of July 2015). At first worker appeared competent and receptive to the job doing a good job of tear out, replacing backer board and waterproofing. The tile placement has varying widths of grout lines, the ones around the outside of the door had to be redone due to setting tile varying depths into the grout. My husband had to help him figure out how to hang the door, then because the opening didn't come out right, the nice, frameless door we had selected didn't fit and instead a cheaper, thinner framed one was put in it's place. Some debris was thrown over the fence onto the neighbor's property. He would get defensive to the point my husband had to calm him down. The worst was after all the waiting we received a call from the owner months later saying he had been audited and now the work had to have a permit and be inspected. We asked him right at the beginning if a permit was needed and were told it didn't.

Perfect from beginning to end.  Terry called me shortly after I left a message describing the work to be done.  He came to look at it the next morning and was able to schedule the job within a few days. Ward & Matt showed up promptly at 7:30am as scheduled and not only did a fabulous job, but spent a lot of time applying tape/plastic surrounding the work area to prevent dust.  We are extremely impressed with the professionalism and personable and gracious demeanor of Terry and his staff. Now that we know a contractor we can count on, we're looking at a lot of other projects that need to be done here and will not hesitate to hire them again...and again...and again!

The staff were great. The workers had good communication and showed up when they were suppose to. We were happy with them. They cleaned up after themselves.

We wanted to build a home that was energy efficient and were considering a factory-built home. I contacted them because they were listed by one of the home builders as their preferred/certified local contractor. Terry and his partner came up to Portland and looked at a few sites to help us choose, and sent us info on planning and building as well as estimates. We truly wanted to work with them as they were very helpful, knowledgeable about what to look for and beware of, informative about options to expedite the process such as using SIP panels, and were willing to investigate new options. They knew quite a bit about panel building and interior options to improve energy efficiency. We just ran out of time because it took so long to sell our home that prices were going up on land and homes beyond our budget compared to a prebuilt home. It just so happened an existing home came on the market that met many of our requirements and just barely made it in our budget, so faced with living in an undesirable rental home for another year or more with kids and pets, or proceeding with a purchase, we purchased. I still would like to build a home and would definitely considering working with Terry if we should ever decide to do so. I highly recommend Terry for his knowledge and excellent customer service.

This company is one of the best, most personable, professional and attentive companies we have ever worked with.  They listened to our needs and desires, advised what they could do to help, and the communication was flawless.  We always knew what they were doing and when they would do it.  Mostly, they (Terry) provided us with options, answered our questions and left us to make our decisions.  There was no high pressure sales pitch.  The work performed was quality, and our house looks great!

They did a fine job and I was very pleased with everything.

The experience has been superb.  They just finished the work and we just sent the last payment today.  Their workmanship, quality, customer service, communication and response stood out the most to us.  We would recommend their quality, workmanship, customer service orientation and integrity.  We didn't do the competitive bidding.  We negotiated the price and we were comfortable with it.  We have recommended them twice.

The work was performed mainly by a 2 man crew, Josh and Derrick with Terry the boss occasionally helping out.  They were professional and worked very well together using state-of-the-art tools and equipment, and quality materials.  The job took longer and cost more than originally quoted because of the wood rot discovered, but the extra cost and time required was very reasonable considering the additional work required.

Square Deal Construction Company did replace some siding on the weather side of the house, re-installed windows, removed some dry-rot, installed new trims around windows, and painted the house. All work was done according to proposals. The work and clean-up after the work was performed in a professional manner. In addition they performed work such as replacing a few shingles on the roof and pressure-washing the deck. The company is not the cheapest in town but their quality of the work is excellent and the attitude of boss and workers is to provide good service to the customer.

We were given their name by another contractor. I called and they gave me an estimate and did the work. My experience was excellent. They are professional and thorough. You could tell they were used to doing quality work in a professional manner. I would recommend them to anyone and I will be using them again.

We were satisfied with their work.  We had no problems at all.  I have no complaints.  I would recommend them others.  They showed up when they said they would and they completed the job in a fair amount of time.

Overall this company did a really good job.  Not everything was done according to the quote at first as the old trim was left in a couple of parts of the windows and we had to point this out on two sperate occasions that the quote was for replacing all the wood to cedar.  Although we were disappointed at the time to have to point this out on two sperate occasions they were apologetic and fixed it without question so I am still giving them an A for completing the work to my satisfaction.  I think that this company strives to go above and beyond on customer service.  When they had to come back another day to install windows Terri noticed my gait was sagging and adjusted it free of charge, and Kris stayed extra time to help me paint some of the front areas of my house.  I hired them to come back at a later date and make the gait more stable.  I am using this company again to install more insulated gas units in my bathroom.  I could not comment on the price because I did not get another bid because I was in a hurry due to a change in weather and because my neighbor had used them for the same dry-rot issue and was satisfied I felt that reputation was more important than checking pricing.

Very professional! Quick in returning telephone calls and courteous as well. Attention to detail. Supervisor of crew is a very hard worker and detail person. Owner kept me up to date on costs and time to finish.

THE WORKER WAS VERY METICULOUS. HE WAS VERY SLOW AND I FEEL THE WHOLE JOB WAS UNDER BID. THERE WERE A FEW THINGS I REQUESTED TO BE CHANGED AND THEY HAD NO PROBLEM DOING IT. IT WAS A SLOW JOB BUT VERY GOOD.
