We are so happy that we had John Toohey from EnergyGuard visit our home, make suggestions and submit a bid. We were especially pleased with John's recommendation that we put a picture window and an awning window in our previously drab kitchen. The Milgard windows that EnergyGuard put in look nice and work well. Also, on the day of installation, the EnergyGuard staff discovered that the siding around one window was rotten. They put in a piece of temporary siding at no additional charge. (Later we had half the siding on our home replaced.) EnergyGuard was professional and helpful all the way down the line. Also, if prospective customers visit their showroom (actually it's a "show house"), just as we did, they can see a wide variety of possible window selections.

The job was quite well done. The price quote was reasonable. I have given this company highest marks but here is what they can do better: a. Project started on schedule but on Friday the crew left and I had no idea when they were going to come again. Both of us work and so it would have been nice if on Thursday or Friday they could have given us a heads up as to the plan going forward. b. In the middle of the project I was told that due to the wood being different in my house they were going to charge me more. This was quite surprising as my house was no different from any other. Turns out their sawing machine was the problem. Credit to them, they called me when they found out. c. Jesus and Jorge did a stellar job. Jesus is the lead and he could not be there the first week due to a family matter (Congratulations on your new baby Jesus!). But once he came to the site he took charge and ensured that all work was done to our satisfaction. d. The initial quote overlooked a small thing so they had to add another $300 to the contracted price. I felt that given a $20K project they should have absorbed that mistake on their end and informed me that they were doing this. Something by way of *great* customer service I think.

I just recently had seven windows and one glass sliding patio door installed! I was quite impressed with the whole operation! The windows seem to be extremely well made...they should last for quite some time. I was really impressed with the two workers, Jesus and Jorge, who were sent to my house to do the work. These two guys were the best...great work ethic, and they certainly knew everything about proper installation of the windows. I'd suggest that you ask for them by name. They are obviously quite an asset to the company...they probably deserve some kind of bonus!!! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Energy Guard windows to anyone considering the purchase and installation of Milgard windows!

From the beginning to getting a quote from Darren to scheduling with Carrie and Brian, to the window replacement with Gregs team it was a great experience. We love the windows we bought the recommended window from Darren and love looking at our windows everyday. Energyguard was great.

the work went just great

Pretty well. There were a couple of problems that seemed to be factory error rather than Energy Guard's. Energy Guard resolved it. Communication could have been improved by clearly explaining what the homeowner would have to do after the window installation- like painting on the outside of the home. There was very little cleanup to do- hard to tell they had been there except for the beautiful new windows.

This group is fantastic. We visited the showroom and they had a huge number of windows and styles to physically see and "play" with making it easy to see what we were purchasing. We made an appointment to have Darren come to our house to take measurements and make suggestions based on our actual/true window sizes/designs. The appointment was confirmed one day prior and Darren arrived promptly. Windows came in from factory when Darren stated they would. The work crew were also prompt on delivery day, did a fabulous installation job, and cleaned up. We were extremely pleased with EnergyGuard and highly recommend them. We will use them again when we replace our doors.

The contractor was very professional during the entire process of reviewing our needs, making suggested options and the installation.  The installation crew was very good to work with and kept us advised as to their progress.  I would not hesitate to recommend or use EnergyGuard in the future.

We have been throughly investigating replacement windows for several months and ultimately took the decision to purchase Milgard windows through their Energy Guard installer.  Energy Guard installed 13 replacement windows on two floors.  We are very happy with our replacement windows and the installation process.  The low E windows have made a very significant impact on the insider temperature in the heat of the summer. The installation process met our specific requirements completely.  All staff were very helpful and professional.  We have now contracted with Energy Guard to replace the additional windows in our house.  Note 1:  They have a monthly seminar about replacement windows and how they install them; this is highly recommended.  Note 2:  Milgard  windows are not inexpensive!, but I had another estimate for a competitors windows costing more than three (3) times as much.

Excellent experience from start to finish. We got 4 estimates and they were all pretty  much the same, but Darren went the extra mile. He spent time with us discussing which windows would be better in certain positions in the house and helped us visualize which windows would make the house look good. He was very knowledgeable and patient.
Greg and Jesus did the  installation which took 2 days. They were very pleasant, extremely efficient and left no mess.  
We did have one problem with a sticky window - but Milgard came out and fixed it.
We really like the windows - especially the awnings (thank you Darren!) They have made our old house look a lot better!

From the initial appointment when Darren came to inspect the existing windows and put together a quote to Greg and Jesus' install, the entire process was excellent and the whole team was very knowledgeable about their windows and proper installation. When Darren came by to measure the windows he also made great suggestions on how to make the windows flow better together and have more appeal than the previous windows. He responded to all emails very promptly and answered several dozen questions that we had. The install went very smoothly and Greg and Jesus were very respectful of our home and made sure we knew what the process would be and alerted us to potential issues. Inside our house we can't even tell that they even cut the windows into place as it was left very clean. We are very happy with our purchase and would highly recommend using Energy Guard.

I had used Darren before on a fairly large residential window and door replacement project so I knew his company, him and his quality of work. This second job was much smaller in scale and cost but he treated it with the same responsiveness and attention to detail as the first. In fact, after he had completed the contract he realized that if I upgraded the glass type by a few dollars per window it would significantly increase my Energy Trust of Oregon rebate so he tore up the first paperwork and cheerfully started over. 
He and Nancy run their business with a very personal touch and there has never been a single glitch in my dealings with them. Darren is the kind of guy that I am just always glad to see again because he is so nice to be around.
I am traveling a lot at the moment and could  not be present at the install. I enjoy being on site to ask and and answer questions and normally would not let anyone do work when I am away but I trust Energy Guard's quality of installers to tackle it in my absence. His crews are very respectful of the site and minimize the construction intrusion into the house structure. They are smart, experienced and make excellent job decisions. I returned to find their usual excellence again and I could not be happier with the results.
I will continue to use them for window and door projects.

We had the same company do a bigger job ten years ago at our other home.

We had Energy Guard replace 16 of our windows with Milgard woodclad windows. We appreciated Darren's knowledge of the products and how to properly do replacement installation. We also attended a seminar sponsored by Energy Guard at the Milgard factory. This expanded our knowledge and understanding of what we wanted and needed before we decided on anything including which company to go with for installation. Everything was done in the time frame specified. Four of the windows we noted did not have the exterior flashing installed. These windows had been missed. My husband noticed this within a couple of days of the installation because he was painting the trim. Also, he found that some of the debris had not been cleaned up. We called Darren, the owner, and he came over right away. He was not pleased with the omission of the flashing nor the incomplete clean up on the part of his crew. One of the crew had a baby in the middle of our windows and left when he got the call. Another crew member was new. Darren said that was no excuse. Everything was remedied quickly. We were pleased with the quick response to our call. We will have more windows to replace in the future and will likely use Energy Guard again. We can highly recommend.

Mike was our friendly, helpful, straight forward sales guy and Darrin got involved in planning an area that was challenging due to the way our home was constructed.  I stopped by the office to get help selecting our new front door and Nancy gave me a gift card to a very nice local restaurant just for coming in (Of course, since we're spending all this $$ on windows, we could use a gift card for dinner!).  We received lots of good guidance in selecting the windows that would provide us with the best value while complimenting the style of our home.  The price was significantly lower than the other bid we got and Energyguard honored the Angie's list offer on every window purchased.
The job started on the day promised and the crew arrived exactly when they said they would.  Greg and his crew were friendly, professional and respectful of our property.  We were amazed at the amount of work accomplished on the first day and how nicely things were cleaned up before they left.  We're on our 2nd day now and they're finishing trim and installing a beautiful front door.
We've done several projects recently and Energyguard is the only group we've worked with who delivered, installed and finished everything promised in the time frame originally agreed on.  We would highly recommend Energyguard in Newberg!  We could not be happier with the end result!!!

Nancy and the rest of the team at Energy Guard were really good about walking us through the entire process of window replacement.  We met at a home show and then attended a replacement demonstration.  They were very open and honest about all the pros and cons of having professional installation vs DIY.  Even helped talk through how a window completely surrounded by brickwork could be managed.
When comparing them to others in the area the pricing and lead times were better and more believable than all the rest.  I would definitely recommend them to any and all.

Their estimate was at least $5,000 less than a larger company we received another estimate from. The job took several days because it was a big job. I have a number of large windows and sliding doors that needed to be replaced. They did a good job with the work. I have been real pleased with these windows and I think that have been a good investment for the house.
