This company is fantastic! I started my relationship with H&M, when Hans was still around, 30+ years ago, when my garage door ended up on top of my boat. Hans came to the rescue, and I have used them when needed ever since, meeting his son Mark last time, and now Grandson Cody today, along with his partner Andy. Always fast, honest, super clean, and know what they are doing, PLUS, they are a local, family owned business, which right now, is extremely important to support. When I called Saturday evening, I fully expected an answering machine, but Amy, picked up and took my info to schedule for Monday. I cant say enough great things about these folks, but please, do yourself a favor, and give them a try. You will be impressed! Thanks again H&M!

These guys are great. We ordered 2 single garage doors that saved us a lot over Costco - almost half the price - even with Costco's $350 rebate they had at the time. I'm sure there is some difference in the material, but what we received is fine for our needs, and there's probably not that much of a difference. Fairly basic four-panel steel and insulated Wayne Dalton doors. Nothing fancy. The team of 3 (Mark, Joe and Andy) arrived on time and got to work immediately. It took them only an hour and 15 minutes to complete the job. They removed the old doors, installed the new ones, tested and tweaked the system and cleaned up after themselves. I was impressed (hence this review). These guys don't mess around. Our garage is rather clean, so they had enough room to work easily and quickly. One of the things that I look for is how well the team works together. I couldn't have been more pleased to see that they worked well together and helped each other as needed. It was clear that they have a lot of experience installing residential garage doors. I would definitely recommend H&M Overhead Doors to anyone.

Door was not opening because original screw mechanism was broken. ( Door original to house built in 2000.)
Provider diagnosed problem same day we called by coming by in early. Explained that screw type mechanism had problems early on and manufacturers had stopped using it. Stated they could return following afternoon to repair and predicted
price range. Came as promised and replaced mechanism with spring mechanism. Took away old parts. Price was as predicted.

They are a wonderful company to deal with. I called them up and told them that I needed a garage door opener installed right away because I had a vacant rental that I had new people moving into. They came out the very next day and installed it for me. They clean up after themselves. They are responsive, courteous and just an A company all the way around.

They were good. They did what they needed to do to make sure that the door would work well. They explained it all to me even though I am a woman.

I always use H and M because I've had such a good experience with them. There was a coupon offer from Angie's List from another garage door company for reconditioning a garage door and replacing the rollers so I called H and M and asked them if they do that also. They agreed to do the same service for the same price although I don't know if the coupon offer was for the rollers that were all plastic or nylon or were for the ones that were nylon and metal. I told them I was in no rush but they are always very responsive. Hans came out and did the work and the door works great.

I have used H and M for several years now and I've never been disappointed. Whenever I call they are very responsive. They usually are able to get out the next day. This is a family owned company that works hard and does a quality job at a fair price. If you are looking for a garage door company, do yourself a favor and call this company. You won't be disappointed.

I've never had a bad experience with them. Hans (the father) is the person I'm most familiar with and now his son is becoming more active in managing the business, but both provide a high level of service. Hans taught his son well. I am a contractor and I've been fortunate to develop a great list of subcontractors that represent my company well. Hand M is among the best of the best. I would not hesitate to use them ever - very high level of professionalsm and integrity, and very reasonable with their pricing. I have also used several other quality overhead door subcontractors, but I'll always call Hand M first, and usually last.

They are great and wonderful people to deal with. The owner is Mark and he put in a new lock on the garage door. He doesn’t just put the lock, but, checks the door completely, for any problems. They have installed garage door openers, in the past. They were punctual and competitively priced. They come immediately, especially during emergencies.

I had Hans install a garage door opener on a rental of mine almost a year ago. Someone turned the handle on the lock to lock the door and the renter did not notice it. She didn't use the latch release but somehow managed to pull on the door to get it open a few feet. She could have just used her key and unlocked the door but she forced it anyway. I figure if you have to force something, there is something wrong and just leave it alone and call someone who knows what they are doing. Anyway, she didn't call me until 2:30 in the afternoon to complain her door wasn't working! I called H and M and Hans went out right away and fixed the bar she bent, oiled the rollers and removed the locking bar so it cannot be locked accidentally now. I have used H and M for several years now and this response is not unusual. They always get to your problem quickly and do whatever it takes to repair it. They do extra things like oiling the rollers and tightening bolts on the door if that is needed. They clean up after they do their job too. And the best thing is they are very fair on their charges. I have bought a couple of door openers from them, had them replace locks and repair garage doors on my own house, rentals, and family members houses. This is one of those companies you hardly ever see any more but would love all companies to be like. They are a family business, honest, fair and respond quickly to your calls. What more could you ask for? And no, I am not related to them!

As usual, a 10+ experience. Hans I am pretty sure installed this door back in 1979 when I was building, possibly when he was working for another large Portland company.; if not he was the guy who made it fit right. His son Mike today provided superior and quick service again, done right the first time and a day earlier than expected. This Company is committed to quality; they always show up on time or call if they cannot make it; and prices are more than fair and reasonable. If they cannot do it correctly, they just won't do it. Many of my So. Clackamas/North Marion County contractor acquaintances refuse to use anyone else . I consider this firm the best of the best; great pride in doing things right with superior quality at a fair and reasonable price. A 10+ for about 30 or more years. Proof to me word of mouth references are the best possible; they do farm, commercial and industrial work too.

I had a garage door that had been hit and would not close. Every extimate I had received prior to calling Hand M was in excess of 300.00. Hand M was recommended by a co worker. Hans came out an fixed the door for a reasonable cost in about 15 minutes. I still have their card on my door and I would never call anyone else for a garage door.

Excellent! This is just about the best company I have ever worked with! I work in construction and I know hundreds of subcontractors and companies. These guys far exceed the rest! They did exactly what they promised, for exactly the price they quoted and 5 days sooner than scheduled! I can't say enough good about them and I encourage anyone who is looking for a company like this to call H and M first!

I called Hans to order a garage door opener and they installed it the next day for me. It went like clock work. They are the most honest, reliable company you could hope to deal with. I have used them several times and will only use them.

I needed light sensors added to a garage door opener on a house that was being sold. I called H and M and their response was quick. They came out the next day and installed the sensors for me. They had to move a cabinet to make room and climb in a boat to reach the opener. This company goes above and beyond what most companies do to provide quality service at a reasonable cost. I have used this company several times and my experience has always been the same. I highly recommend this company for anyone who needs anything having to do with garage doors and openers!

I was able to purchase the exact door I wanted. They had to special order it and it took two weeks to get it. They showed me other types of doors that were more expensive but this door was a good deal when you consider the size of it and the automatic opener was included. I think they are a good company to do business with.

The spring broke on Saturday afternoon. Hand M was one of only two places that answered my call, and scheduled someone for first thing Monday morning. They showed up a couple of minutes early and fixed the door in 20 minutes. The workers were neatly groomed and well mannered. The only thing not explained was why it cost $140 instead of the quoted $115. I didn't mind paying it, I just think there should have been some explanation. However, that was the only problem. I couldn't be more pleased. I would use this company again. I would also recommend them to everyone out there.

The lock on the garage door of a rental house was left broken. I called to have a new one put on. The house had been left unlocked but when Hans arrived, someone had locked the house up. He called to let me know he couldn't get in and made arrangements to come back when it would be unlocked again. He came back and replaced the lock for me. Hans is polite and professional. I know I can count on them to get the job done right away and for a reasonable price.

Excellent, friendly and they went above and beyond what was expected. I couldn't be happier with the job they did.

I feel I was given a good price for the services. I was given a quote over the phone, and they honored their quote. I had a little difficulty connecting with the on-site estimator due to his busy workload, but they were very professional, pleasant to work with and made me feel confident in my decision. The installer (Lyn) answered all my questions and wasn't bothered by my occasional check on his progress as he completed the work. I would recommend this company.

Called about 3:00, they came and completed the work before 5:00. Prompt, came prepared, Professional and pleasant. Good job. Would definitely recommend. Mark and Joe did a fine job!

I LOVED WORKING WITH THIS FAMILY COMPANY. THE SERVICE WAS WONDERFUL, PROMPT AND TURNED OUT GREAT. THE PRICE WAS COMPARABLE TO A LARGER COMPANY, BUT THE ATTENTION TO DETAIL IS WHAT I THOUGHT WAS GREAT. THEY ACTUALLY SUGGESTED A LOWER PRICED DOOR THAN THE ONE I WAS SET ON PURCHASING.
