Emmett Construction

The crew was great, start to finish. I starting trying to line up a painter in March or so, but - calling only those with high ratings on Angie's List - could not find anyone to even come give me a bid. Some (at least 2, probably 3) set up appointments to come look at the job and bid, but not one of them showed up. Few even called back. Eventually, I ran out of ideas. About that time, one of the painters who had called to say he was already fully booked for the year called back and recommended Emmett Construction. When I called Emmett, I got a response very quickly, and a crew of 3 came to the house within a few days. They were clearly knowledgeable, and spotted the rotting door frames quickly. They said they were booked well out, but thought they'd be able to fit us in before the end of the season. It took a while before I got the estimate, and a while after I agreed to the price before I heard back with an approximate start date, but they had warned me they were very busy and they did, indeed, follow through. The start date was months into the future, but at least they did have me on their schedule. They notified me (via a text message) that they would not be starting until a few days after the original approximate date, and they did, indeed, show up first thing two days later - after texting the night before that they would be coming. Given that they'd given me the approximate date months earlier, I was very impressed that they came anywhere close to meeting that date. The crew were all super nice, hard workers, and very professional. We discussed progress at least once a day, and the lead man was quick to let me know when they found previously-undetected rot on upper story windows and a trim board. I agreed to have all those pieces replaces, at additional cost; I was just happy the problems had been found and would be fixed before the damage grew beyond trim pieces. I am confident that they were honest with me and that they used quality materials as well as good workmanship. Although I did not get any other bids, I've had enough work done over the years to feel that I got a good price.
