R & D Equipment company

The work was well done and the boat made a cross country drive without issue. However, Randy gave me a price of around $300 when we made the agreement for him to do the work. The bill was over $650.00. He picked the boat up from the seller's location and brought it to the marina to do the work. The boat was in his possession for nearly a week. At no point did he contact me to let me know it was going to cost more than he'd quoted. When he called for payment I remarked that the bill was over twice the quote. He said it was a bit bigger of a boat than he though. It was 26 feet, just as I told him. I feel that a phone call was in order prior to starting the job when the cost was going to be so much more than quoted.

The "dealer" would have been almost three weeks before they could get our boat in and the quote was $350.  We contacted R & D because of an ad on Craigslist saying they would get you in sooner than the dealers.  They were able to fit us in that same day if we could leave it there so we took it right down and we picked it up 3 days later.  They were very nice, easy to talk to, helpful and seemed to do a good job.  We  had a leak that my husband couldn't find, they looked around and found a hose loose, tightened it up for no charge and we have no more leak!  They quoted about $200. it came to $208.  We were pleased with them and will definitely take our boat back if we have problems in the future.
