Initial service call went well. But too cold to check the freon level. Signed up for a 1 year service agreement. They were supposed to come back and check the freon level when it warmed up but never heard back from them. I called them in the spring and asked them to come out and check it. They tried to charge me for an additional service charge for the freon check. I had to point out this was included in the service agreement I had already paid for. And I asked them to provide an estimate for replacement of my HVAC unit. They said someone would call to set up an estimate appt, but again never heard from them. My view is they are technically competent, but administratively challenged.
Response from Dr HVAC Inc
"Thank you for your response. I believe we were waiting to evaluate the HVAC System on your next system maintenance when the weather was a bit warmer in order to check the refrigerant level. We pride ourselves on our service, however part of this must include customer service. If a client is requesting a proposal for a new system, then it is upon us to perform this for them. We will have our estimator contact you shortly to schedule an appointment with you to evaluate what system will benefit you. Thank you again for your response. We strive to be the best...we will keep striving! Michael Crook President"

Tune up okay but even after mentioning to the service professional that we'd like to buy a new furnace and a/c unit he never said that he'd have a sales rep call to discuss new systems with us. We ended up needing a new a/c unit less than 1 month later, so we called another company.
Response from Dr HVAC Inc
"Thank you for your review. It appears we missed out on an opportunity to serve you better. I have spoken with our technician about this call and he did not recall communication about getting a proposal for a new system. Obviously the ball was dropped on our side. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Thank you for the business you have shared with us. If there is anything w can do for you in the future I hope you will allow us the opportunity to earn your trust and business again. Michael Crook President DR HVAC"

Dr. HVAC provided very quick responsive service on week-end just prior to a hot spell.  Received courteous, professional service for installation of parts needed for (temporary) functioning of condenser fan on heat pump.  Downside of Dr. HVAC is their insistent approach to sign you up for a contract.  Pricing of all parts, service is based on whether you are a contract service customer or not, and service personnel repeatedly point out your cost savings if you are a contract customer.  Their personnel were courteous if you did not want to sign up for a contract but the push to sign a contract was annoying.  The pricing of their non -contract service seemed to be very reasonable.

Our Trane heat pump, air handler, electrical heating coil system is 21+ years old, so is well beyond the service life for this equipment.  We chose to replace this equipment with a new Trane system, rather than replacing the compressor fan motor in a very dated heat pump well past it's service life. We have been very impressed with the Trane brand of HVAC equipment, so we did not consider Dr. HVAC for this replacement work because we were informed that they normally install another equipment brand.

Dr HVAC is great! We have purchased their maintenance package for the last 2 years. They come out twice a year and service our heat pump and we get a reminder call that we are due for our next service. Our tech is great and we always request him. He is on-time, friendly and professional and does a great job.

The Dr. HVAC tech made a few modifications and used a more universal controller. He was very fast and the furnace came up immediately. I should have had him service it while he was there because it required a general service and new nozzle less than a month later. Another company was available on a better schedule to do that service.

The installers performed the installation in a very professional manner. They were efficient and timely in doing the job. They arrived on time and stayed with the job until it was completed. It was done in 1 day. The old unit was removed and, after completion, the areas were left neat and clean. The workers were very careful to confine the mess just to the working areas and not spread it out. A technician followed up with inspecting the installation and doing the startup. All went very well in a timely fashion. I highly recommend them for this service.

From the time I first contacted them, received a quote, and had the job completed, I was impressed with the thoroughness of DR HVAC wanting to understand what needed to be done and then the on-time completion of the project. They completed the job, cleaned up after themselves and were completely professional in every aspect.
