Berg Painting

My contractor, Mike Turner (please also see his entry), highly recommended Corey Thomas to paint my house and new large bungalow-style porch that Mike had built. Mike told me that of all the painters whose work he had seen in his years as a contractor, Corey's work was far and away the very, very best. After seeing the finished work on my house, I would agree completely. The existing paint was a very, very pale blue, and in terrible shape. I picked out two shades of a sort of sage or moss green, and a deep burgundy for the trim. I think it would be very difficult to find someone who would do a better job! Corey is amazing in his attention to detail, not only in the painting, but the prep work, which is so important for a good paint job. I was impressed with the amount of time he took in preparing everything for painting.

The house started out as a basic rectangle, 985 square feet. Mike added a porch 6 feet out from the house and 16 feet long. The railing was left the natural cedar, but the bungalow-style tapered square pillars were painted, with all the darker green trim on the pillars done by hand. That trim would be easy to do a less than perfect job on, and come out wobbly -- and it's in a place that would be very obvious -- but Corey did it perfectly.

I also want to report that he arrived each day completely on time, and you couldn't ask for a more pleasant person to be working on your house, a really easygoing guy with a good sense of humor.

I liked them. When Berg Painting painted the exterior trim on the house they did excellent work. Mr. Berg has since retired and the same guy who did the work on our house has taken over the business. I have not had him do anything since then, so I don't know what kind of work the guy who took over the business will do.  He was punctual, responsive, and professional.
