Despite advance scheduling, plumber doubled other jobs, missed a day, and no cleanup of debris and water in house. He eliminated unions necessary for equipment furure survicing. Also used verbal quotes and promises. Poor businessman ship.

He worked for a general contractor that we used for several things in the house. The total package was $18,000 and they worked for the general contractor. Mostly they were good. They were prompt and got there on short notice. It was a bigger job than they expected. They seemed to be pretty good. On the whole they were good and they were fast. We've worked with this contractor a lot and he watched them. We relied on the contractor to deal mostly with the subcontractors. We were there doing some painting at the time and they cleaned up well. They seemed to do a good job. We trusted the contractor to pick reliable people. There was one drawback that we didn't notice until a month later. A cloth was left in a pipe in the bathtub and it wouldn't drain. We felt they should have caught that. It happened on a Saturday and we had to hire another plumber to come in and clean it because they weren't available on a Saturday. They were very responsive because we had a short time frame. We had a two week window to get everything done. They seemed very professional. We might consider using them again.

I called them urgently at 3pm and they came out within an hour, as he drove from Lebanon to my house in Albany. The plumber they sent quickly solved the problem. I was worried and was ready to replace the water heater but he explained the situation was that  a previous homeowner incorrectly installed the water heater and he would replace the faulty connections and non functional shut off valve. He fixed every thing in 30 mins and the total for parts and labor was $130. I was impressed with his professionalism and that he could have sold me a water heater, but explained that we still had 3-5 years or more life in it. He brought a truck with all the needed new parts and tools and was very professional and informative. I will use them again if needed and recommend them to anyone needing plumbing help.

The project went very well.  In spite of my  interrupting  with questions, both Friesens were friendly, professional and did a great job,.  I have to apologize to them for my constant questions and leaning over their shoulder, but in the past I have had some  bad experiences with work done on the house by others.
The only glitches, and they were minor, were a delay in locating a trencher to rent locally and an unanticipated requirement by the inspector  for a non-city side cut -off valve within the meter box (was not very much room).  Neither had an effect on the quality of work nor the final price.
One specific positive for which I must give credit was the great job resetting the water heater properly in place and adding an earthquake strap.  The company that recently installed the water heater had done a marginal job.
Friesen gave me the Angie's list 10% discount (a substantial amount) on top of a very reasonable price, so I couldn't be happier !
Even the city inspector commented on the good job they had done.

The location of our new barn was terrible for water line, a long run and then right across the gravel driveway. And our existing inground water lines were complicated and hard to figure out. Friesen plumbing came out to figure it out, fit in to the schedule and were more reliable about it than anyone else on the project, were very careful about existing lines and managed to avoid breaking anything, worked hard and keep working hard in spite of it being so difficult, good sense of humor, very likeable.

He was very professional, was able to trouble-shoot the situation, finding out that the water pressure was fine until it got to the faucet. He took apart the faucet and found that something was inhibiting flow of water. He talked to me about the potential of residue from corroded plastic tube from hot water heater as well as other options. He enjoyed the challenge of the problem and that it had a happy ending. He was done in less than an hour and pressure is now strong. I appreciated his respect of my home, talking me through his thinking, and care. I highly recommend him and will call him again if there is a problem

Every time I have called, they were prompt and professional. Of the many contractors I have had to deal with within these last 3 weeks, they have been the best. Thanks Angie's List :)

Hot water flow had decreased to almost a trickle and changing the faucet cartridge and cleaning sieve had done nothing to improve the flow. After removing the water feed from the faucet and determining that the pipe coming from the wall was probably clogged due to accumulated rust etc., I contacted Friesen Plumbing based on recommendations on Angie's List. Within an hour of leaving a message on Tuesday morning, Nathan Friesen returned my call. We agreed on 11AM the following day for him to come. He estimated an hour to two for the job. At this point, Nathan was just going to drill holes in the floor of the vanity cabinet and run a short pipe section into the basement and tie into the plumbing there. On Wed. he called at 10:30 to let me know that his first job was running about an hour late and he could get to my house a little after Noon. He wanted to make sure that this would work for me. He arrived a little before Noon. Since setting up the appointment, my wife and I discussed the possible ramifications of having holes in the floor rather than the wall. When Nathan arrived, we discussed this and decided that if we were ever going to have a pedestal sink instead of the vanity that we should have the pipes coming out of the wall and not the floor. This change would require additional work, but still probably less than two hours. Since the house was built around 1937, the unexpected is usually the norm. After cutting out the wall section, Nathan noted that the pipes feeding the sink continued up the wall, but he could not see where they ended or exited the wall. Since there were no logical reasons for the run since the runs to the upstairs bathroom were probably in a different wall, Nathan decided to verify this by running both the hot and cold water in the upstairs bathroom sinks, shower, and tub. He could not detect any changes in temperature in the downstairs pipe runs. He decided that these runs were probably capped off above the sink and served no useful purpose. He was proven correct when he cut the pipe and it just dropped down inside the wall. He then quickly replaced the runs, water feeds, and cutoff valves, He cleaned up the job and was finished close to 2:10PM, a little longer than estimated, but well within my expectations after adding the need to go through the wall and the 'old house' anomalies.

I checked angies list and this company was rated very high. I called on a Tuesday and they got back to me The following Thursday. Darrell went out the next day (Friday). I called him around noon and he told me what it would cost to replace the pipes. We discussed briefly his background, license, and experience. He shared he had been doing this for many years and he was licensed and bonded. He completed the job the same day for the exact amount he quoted me on the phone. My husband checked it and said it looked great. We have not heard from our tenant about any further problems. The water was backing up into the kitchen sink and a nearby washing machine and there have been no problems since. Six months ago I had a licensed plumber do the same job on the other side of the duplex using the same materials and it cost nearly twice as much.I will be using him again in the future when I need a plumber.

The work was done well and on schedule. The valve replacement was added to the work order at the last minute when I found that I couldn't shut the house supply off completely, but Nathan brought the needed parts and worked late (on a Friday) to complete the job. The company does rely on voicemail, but they respond promptly, both by phone and on email. In particular, when they found that the tank they were going to install wouldn't be available when originally planned, they called immediately to reschedule. They also quickly provided a link to info on the tank they were suggesting so I could review the specs and do some research. (I'm still waiting for a call-back from another plumber for that same info two weeks later.) There was an error made on the original quote, apparently due to a misunderstanding with their supplier, that resulted in the final bill being $100 higher than the quote. They offered to honor the original quote anyway. (Which I graciously declined, since they were being as helpful as they could and shouldn't have to pay for someone else's error.) In any case, the final price was $500 less than the quote from another local plumbing company "J" so I felt I was getting my money's worth. (Note that I have used "J" in the past and they do fine work, but they tend to be on the expensive side.) The supplier error also resulted in the the wrong venting pipes being provided, but Nathan hurried to get the correct parts and the installation was completed on time.

I was skeptical when I called and got an answering machine, but I left a message explaining that I had a hot water tank leaking all over the floor and the valve was broken so I had no way to shut it off. I had drained the tank using a garden hose but the water was still pouring into the top of the tank and running out into the street. I couldn't find the shut off valve at the street, it turned out because it was at the bottom of a murky puddle of icy rainwater under someones car. I got a call back in less than two hours and someone came right over and did the work immediately - and they didn't gouge me for the urgency. I couldn't have been more pleased with how fast he came and how quickly and professionally he did the work. A+, especially compared to the plumber I had called the night before, before I had figured out that draining the tank would slow the leak that was going onto the floor. Why work with a plumber that is surly and stupid, when you can just call Friesen?

Very good experience. Nate called me back in a timely manner (none of the other plumbers I left messages with called me back) and scheduled the work in a timely manner. His hourly rate was the best of any I got estimates from ($80/hr; high estimate was $110/hr). He did the work efficiently and cleaned up after himself, and left me his cell number in case there were leaks. There were -- not uncommon -- and he came back the day after I called him, even though it was in the holiday period, and fixed the leaks. I would use Friesen Plumbing again. It's a family business, Nate and his father.
