"This homewowner was a dificult person to work with from the beginning. I did in fact give him one complete estimate for the interior and exterior on one of his homes in Provincetown. Cape Cod had a extreme amount of rain in the months of June, July and now August. Regarding interior, I could not get him to finalize color choice as he kept putting me off. He was a new homeowner in Provincetown and had told me he was busy entertaining. I assumed this was the reason for him not moving as quickly on color choice, as I had hoped for. When he finally made a decision on color choice I was in the middle of a very large project. I explained to (removed member name) that scheduling was everything and that I had to keep working. I could not just sit around and wait for him, as he was not my only customer. This was unexceptable to him, no matter how many ways I tried to explain. He finally told me " well I can get another painter over here tomorrow". I agreed to this and asked him to let me know when shutters would arrive and his color choice for exterior work. This again took quite awhile for (removed member name) to make up his mind. Then the rain came again, pushing everyone behind.... When I finally got the color choice I scheduled him asap. When I arrived at his residence, there was debris all in the driveway from his partner doing handyman work. There was also a large dumpster right in the way to which we needed to set up a 28' extension ladder to hang shutters. I completed eveything I stated on contract expect where I could not setup my ladder due to dumpster in the way. (removed member name) also had decided that I should have painted under deck supports that were covered by lattice when originally estimated. The lattice was removed by (removed member name) partner, and by a telephone conversation with (removed member name), he then decided I should just "throw the painting of the supports in for nothing". I explained that I would do this for him, but there would be an upcharge. He then was furious and would not take that as a final answer.I tried very hard to please this homeowner but I failed."
"The customer were a pleasure to work for!!!"
"This people were very easy to work with. I would LOVE to have customers like this all the time!!!!!!!!"
"This paticular customer was very difficult to work with. When we sat down and signed the contract the homeowner stated that the contract was a little high and he wanted to do some of the laborous work to lower the price. We worked with him on it and lowered the price. His wife, at this point had still not made up her mind about the color of the house. I usually require the color choice be made at the time of receiving deposit but let them take a little longer to decide. I did not hear from the Member for another month because his wife had STILL not decided on the color choice. I, at this point had three jobs being done at the same time and was finishing them up. When I finally heard from the Member, he had told me then that his wife had chose the color of the body but not the trim. Long story short..... two weeks later I received the name of the trim color they had chose. So now it had been a little over six weeks after signing contracts that I received both colors. It was a very nice color from the one that was on the house when I arrived. The house was an orange color like a pumpkin and we changed it to a nice medium gray with an off white color on the trim. The homeowner had a lot of rotted trim that he could not replace because he was going through financial difficulties. I could not give him a warranty because of this and he understood. I realize that you can NOT make all the people happy all the time, but I did everything I could to make this customer happy. Some people are just a little more difficult than others."
