Went well.  Painters did a very thorough, neat, professional job.  Only drawback/complaint was that the job was supposed to be completed in one week and took over two weeks to complete.  Also, some things that I thought were included (based on other estimates) were not included (for example I wanted a hallway painted and I assumed the "trim" work included the doors and it did not...estimates from other companies included the doors).  I would recommend people read their proposal very, very thoroughly and raise any issues/concerns before the work begins.  The work itself is very good, just a few surprises (things not included) that bothered me a little.

I couldn’t believe how great of a job they did.  They are very professional people and do a great, great job.  They’re going to be some more work for us in our new home.

Nightmare! Gave two estimates-one for exterior and the other for interior. After accepting deposit for both she couldn't find the time to return to paint. Had explained upfront that I needed this done quickly because I needed to move in to start reno work on second house on property and ultimately to put both houses on market. Eventually she agreed to let me get another painter for interior work as she couldnt find the time. The charge for the exterior work was going to be lower than the deposit I had given her for both projects. Asked her to return the difference. When I had decided to just go with all new shutters she asked for an additional $100 stating it was more work to install new ones than to take old ones off and paint them. Didnt understand that but agreed to pay it. Continued to wait for her to perform the work and return money. Had to call and send e mails to make sure she was still around. Made no effort to keep me informed. I made several phone calls asking her if she couldnt do work soon just to return the money and I would find someone else. She did not want to do that and continued to promise that it would get done shortly, but it seemed it was either going to rain, rained heavily yesterday or was raining in her town. Even challenged me on the predicted weather from the National Weather Service. She did call once to tell me she was coming in 48 hours. Told her that wouldnt work because I had guests. Her response was she then didnt know when she could reschedule. She came 8/6. Had asked her to bring the money that I was owed. Showed up without it. Had removed the lattice under the deck for her to paint supports under deck. She refused to paint it. Said she hadnt agreed to that. Had 5 sets of new shutters waiting for her to install. She refused to put up shutters on window that had no old shutters. One window on second floor had old shutters. I did have dumpster in the way but Vicki's partner stated they would need to return to replace those because they hadnt brought a tall ladder. Vicki now claims they did have the ladder, but if they did they made no effort to take the supposed ladder off truck and try to get around dumpster. Discovered later too that they had used kitchen sink to either clean brushes or wash up and had left paint over sink and cabinets Called her that evening. Wants more money to return to paint deck supports. Hasnt returned the money that she owes me. Agreed she should have put up shutters on window that lacked them but not sure when she can return. Have not heard from her since.

"This homewowner was a dificult person to work with from the beginning. I did in fact give him one complete estimate for the interior and exterior on one of his homes in Provincetown. Cape Cod had a extreme amount of rain in the months of June, July and now August. Regarding interior, I could not get him to finalize color choice as he kept putting me off. He was a new homeowner in Provincetown and had told me he was busy entertaining. I assumed this was the reason for him not moving as quickly on color choice, as I had hoped for. When he finally made a decision on color choice I was in the middle of a very large project. I explained to (removed member name) that scheduling was everything and that I had to keep working. I could not just sit around and wait for him, as he was not my only customer. This was unexceptable to him, no matter how many ways I tried to explain. He finally told me " well I can get another painter over here tomorrow". I agreed to this and asked him to let me know when shutters would arrive and his color choice for exterior work. This again took quite awhile for (removed member name) to make up his mind. Then the rain came again, pushing everyone behind.... When I finally got the color choice I scheduled him asap. When I arrived at his residence, there was debris all in the driveway from his partner doing handyman work. There was also a large dumpster right in the way to which we needed to set up a 28' extension ladder to hang shutters. I completed eveything I stated on contract expect where I could not setup my ladder due to dumpster in the way. (removed member name) also had decided that I should have painted under deck supports that were covered by lattice when originally estimated. The lattice was removed by (removed member name) partner, and by a telephone conversation with (removed member name), he then decided I should just "throw the painting of the supports in for nothing". I explained that I would do this for him, but there would be an upcharge. He then was furious and would not take that as a final answer.I tried very hard to please this homeowner but I failed."

The process was very smooth and professional: Vicki did a walk-through and prepared a proposal for the work; the crew arrived as scheduled and worked with minimal breaks, supervised closely by Vicki and Jyl. They cleaned up thoroughly before leaving each day, and the job was done within a few days. Two years on, we are still delighted with the result and would hire them again in a heartbeat. A thoroughly professional operation.

Vicki and her crew of two painters arrived promptly when they were expected. The work proceeded very quickly and was completed professionally. Vicki's partner, Jyl, removed the built-in desk, replaced the baseboard, and repaired the wall and prepared it for painting. Both Vicki and Jyl are extremely professional, supervise their crew closely, and provide excellent value for the price paid.

"This paticular customer was very difficult to work with. When we sat down and signed the contract the homeowner stated that the contract was a little high and he wanted to do some of the laborous work to lower the price. We worked with him on it and lowered the price. His wife, at this point had still not made up her mind about the color of the house. I usually require the color choice be made at the time of receiving deposit but let them take a little longer to decide. I did not hear from the Member for another month because his wife had STILL not decided on the color choice. I, at this point had three jobs being done at the same time and was finishing them up. When I finally heard from the Member, he had told me then that his wife had chose the color of the body but not the trim. Long story short..... two weeks later I received the name of the trim color they had chose. So now it had been a little over six weeks after signing contracts that I received both colors. It was a very nice color from the one that was on the house when I arrived. The house was an orange color like a pumpkin and we changed it to a nice medium gray with an off white color on the trim. The homeowner had a lot of rotted trim that he could not replace because he was going through financial difficulties. I could not give him a warranty because of this and he understood. I realize that you can NOT make all the people happy all the time, but I did everything I could to make this customer happy. Some people are just a little more difficult than others."
