When Pat came to estimate the job, a few days after I called, I didn't envision that every beam there should be replaced.  He convinced me otherwise and showed that he had a good handle on the situation (important, as a competitor seemed uncertain about what to do).  After I got their estimate and checked with a few competitors, I requested their service.  They scheduled me within two weeks, which is good at the end of the busy dry season.  The first of the two doing the job showed up on time at 8 and got right to work.  Early in the job, Pat checked all the adjacent beams and found them sound.  They finished the job by mid-afternoon.  The stairway and landing seem very stable now.

The Task Man was recommended by my painting contractor who noted several rotten siding boards in their inspection. The work was scheduled during the busiest part of the year, but they were able to come out well in advance of the painters to replace the affected boards.
Unfortunately not all of the rotten boards were identified in this first visit. Thankfully, when the painters identified additional bad boards during the masking and prep stage, The Task Man was able to send out a small crew to replace them the very next morning, and also rip out 10-15 square feet of rotting plywood that made up the garage overhang. They also replaced shingles in this area. The painters' schedule was not impacted, and the work looks good to me.

Pat and his crew were neat and professional. They were outside at 8:00 am on the appointed day. They seemed very knowledgable and were able to fix everything that needed attention. Pat was clear about what they don't do (sprinklers, roofs) and also told us what things weren't worth the money to fix.

It went very well.  This is a rental, and I was out of town, so it was coordinated with the tenant, who reported that the work was completed and looked great.

The Task Man worked out great. He did an exceptional job with the kitchen cabinets. He's great. I am a property manager and expect that a vendor respond on time, that he shows up and that he does the work. I can't tell you how many times we can't get that. I want to be able to tell someone to do the job and then I don't want to have to worry about it. We have more than 300 houses and I don't have time to go back and babysit people. So I admire and respect somebody who can do the job and is excellent. If there's something that needs to be fixed, the people who work for me needs to take care of it. There was a lighting issue and the Task Man came back and took care of it. I appreciate him and his resourcefulness.

The work required was to repair a home after a "bad" tenant moved out. Lots of repairs to do. Pat did it all, and it looks great.

With less than a week's notice, Pat did both handrails. They are rock-solid and both exactly what we wanted. The rail on the front of the house matches perfect with the exisiting deck, and the rail in the garage is simple, and sturdy. We are very happy with his professionalism. He was a pleasure to work with, and I'd hire him again for any other handyman jobs!

He came and took measurements before the winter holidays began; letting us know he wouldn't be able to do the work until after the New Year. He was pleasant and easy to speak with regarding the items we thought we would have done. After the New Year he worked with us to confirm a time to start. He came over mid-January and remeasured to make sure he had the right numbers. He also brought with him another contractor to look at a couple of the items we wanted done but were out of his skill set. We ended up having only the doors, wainscot, and ceiling fan done due to budget. He kept on schedule, for the most part, and if he couldn't he made sure to call us and let us know in advance. He did a great job at removing the old doors and re-framing two of them. In installing the new door, he went out of his way to get one (as the door frame was very narrow). He also did a good job of installing the wainscot, and ceiling fan, done by one of his connections, was installed very well. Only a few things that should have been done, even if it meant a slightly higher cost: - Paint the new door before hanging it. It was a pain to paint, and under the door still isn't painted. We'll have to take it off the hinges to get to it. - Fill in the nail holes in all woodwork installed. - Caulk all seams in wainscot. The gaps were fairly wide. It was installed in our bathroom where there will be plenty of moisture. We ended up caulking the seams ourselves before painting it. - Caulk seams around door frame where there was an evident gap between the frame and the wall. Paint did not cover it up. Overall he did a good job, and we would hire him again. Next time around we will be very specific in what we want done and ensure the details are included in the quote.

The Task Man was referred by another highly rated Angie's List professional (exterior painting). He came to the house on short notice and arrived promptly at the arranged time. He viewed the work, asked appropriate questions, then emailed an estimate the next working day. His appearance, demeanor, professional knowledge, and estimate convinced us to sign a contract with him. He completed the work on time, at great quality, and at estimate. He returned some unused materials to the vendor and we were not charged for them. He cleaned up thoroughly at the end of each day as well as at the end of the job. He disposed of demolition residue. OF NOTE: his truck and tools were clean, in good repair, and excellently organized. All tools and materials were of good quality and had designated spaces of their own. He wasted no time looking for tools or materials nor in any other pursuit of the job.
